John catches the best fish, and filets the fish up and packages it for sale at various Farmers Market. I buy my fish from him on Saturday at the Little Italy market.
I’ve been buying fish from John for the last 8 months, and I’ve enjoyed every purchase.
His sister Chiara, provide excellent customer service, and together, they take great care of my needs.
His prices are very competitive with the other markets, and his quality is better & fresher!!! Buying from him is a no-brainer!!!

I met John while shopping at the Solano Beach Farmer’s Market (Sundays on Cedros Street 1200 — 500 pm). His seafood is top notch and fresh. I have bought yellowtail, tuna, corvina, and halibut, all awesome. I like the variety of fish he offers which also includes scallops and shrimp. I was telling John that lately all the shrimp I ate tasted like chlorine, in fact I had quit eating shrimp because of the taste. He explained that the imports were dipped in a preservatives that gave the shrimp that chemical taste. The shrimp we bought from John as he promised were delicious and free of that awful taste. The other product he offers is fresh uni or sea urchin still alive, doesn’t get much fresher than that does it? I forgot to mention we bought sockeye salmon fillets, they are delicious and wild caught. The smoked salmon is a favorite of ours, we have it with baked garlic, cambriezola cheese and olives, needless to say, we buy all our seafood from John (Salmon Slinger).

$ 5 live urchin at the Little Italy Mercato on Saturdays. This stuff is Amazing, and the price is unbeatable. The folks that work the booth are super nice, and have great suggestions on what to get if you’re having trouble deciding. Super fresh, and top quality, be sure to stop by.

I love me some good salmon. I don’t like farm raised, antibiotic filled and color-added fish from the supermarket, that’s why I love Salmon Slinger. They have the freshest, tastiest and healthy seafood, and at a great price too. They are in a ton of farmers markets around town which makes them easily accessible. I like supporting family businesses, especially this one. :) If you eat seafood, this company is my suggestion to you! Eat organic, shop local!!!

John Ford, longtime commercial fishermen is now bringing it fresh to you. Local fresh seafood from local vessels, Great seafood and hand picked from a local provider, he also buys direct from local fishermen. Spends the summers fishing Salmon in and around Alaska, when here in San Diego he buys fish from local boats, and he just bought another boat to fish the waters in and around San Diego. I know the fish he gets is top of the line because he buys from Catalina Offshore Products. Great fish and at a good fair price, and he backs all his seafood 100%. Stop by and say hello and check him out, its a great catch
