Ok sushi. Staff is friendly. They have your typical sushi rolls. Quality is ok. Sashimi is good. Rainbow roll is decent. I tried a new roll and the pieces were a little to big to eat in one bite. Bigger is not necessarily better when it relates to sushi. Overall ok.

Sake Sushi is no more. New ownership and now called Izakaya Kanpai. Just starting but looks promising. Check them out.

Favorite sushi place in the area. Sushi is fresh and delicious, rolls are creative and tasty. Love the Tiger roll, and the Hairy Salmon sounds gross but tastes amazing! The seaweed salad and miso soup are great, and don’t miss out on the sake with edible gold leaf… yummm!

I’ve been going to Sake Sushi ever since they opened a couple years back.(The place used to be some phở shop before that). It’s been a special restaurant I keep coming back to. The sushi here can be little bit pricy but the ingredients are spot on and always taste rich and fresh to me. They have an enormous range of rolls and different types to order, but I especially like the Dragon Roll.(It looks and taste both good.) They do a great job making it look like a Dragon and my friends say I’m cheesy for admiring it haha. I sometimes get their Udon and Tempura which are spot on. The portion isn’t large but the taste is filling. I would also recommend trying the different appetizers they offer. One of my friends always orders baby octopus that are surprisingly tasty.

I got the yakisoba chicken and a Cajun roll. They were both great! The place was not very busy so the service was great.

Tonight as a date night I picked this place away from our neighborhood because of the great experiences we’ve had in the past. However tonight as we walked away from it. My partner and I agreed that something is missing. The quality of their seaweed salad which was our favorite was not the same. The presentation, the texture, the seasoning, it was just not the same. We didn’t have the monkey balls which we also used to love in airs to try something different and some of our usual rolls but something was definitely off. Not sure if they have new chefs or what. Sadly I find myself researching for a new favorite spot to go. Come on guys

When I first came to San Diego in 2013 this place was highly rated. My favorite item on the menu was the seaweed salad. It was fresh and lightly seasoned and covered with white and black sesame seeds. The rolls and the fish are decent but sadly the quality has gone down since I’ve first eaten there. It still holds good memories and eating there reminds me of them. There are usually a couple tables open most times of the day so if you want some sushi and your go to spot has a wait, this place is a good back up. Hopefully the magic can be brought back to this place as it’s in a great location right off the 805 freeway.

Always get their tempera udon 7⁄10 here because it is always delicious and it comes with fried veggies. Their fried sushi rolls here are a must! Ask for the Las Vegas roll too 8⁄10. Their bento lunch is not bad here either, if I do order them I would get their bulgogi here or chicken yakiudon 7⁄10. Their green tea here is not sweet for the warning!

Husband’s favorite sushi spot. $ 5 pitcher of Sapporo(smaller than usual but worth it) We usually order the crunchy roll, shrimp shumai, & fried tempura veggies. Prices are fair. I order a bento box sometimes which is plenty of food and quality is great ! The mochi ice cream is a plus !!! Love that it’s rarely busy so we can enjoy our food. We have been coming here for the past 2 years for Valentine’s day. Also, the people who work here are sweet but don’t speak much english.

I came here because I get threaded nearby and needed a quick bite before I moved on to the rest of my errands. Before going inside, I checked Unilocal and saw that this place only had 3.5 stars so I decided to get something simple and not easy to mess up. I got the Kelly roll. It was really good! The ingredients were fresh and it was a tasty roll. Maybe other people docked stars because there is a language barrier with the two people I encountered inside and they’re not overly enthusiastic & smiley… however, customer service isn’t too much of a factor for this diner as long as the food is good. I’d come back and try something else. And I did notice that entrees were a bit pricey, but the menu had items that can’t be found at typical sushi places.

Superb sushi at a surprisingly reasonable price! My boyfriend and I gave this place a try three years ago hoping we might find a quick standby option close to his house. Having dined on some of the«best» sushi in town, we didn’t expect much, but we were pleasantly surprised by just how yummy Sake Sushi was… hardly a standby! This is now our favorite neighborhood spot, a place where we feel well taken care of and always leave happy. Number one recommendation: the CAJUNTUNA, which you can have as either sushi or a roll. It’s to die for!

We had the dragon roll and a roll that included eel and found both to be very tasty. We appreciated the fact that the seaweed salad was a nice generous portion — also quite tasty. Service was attentive, pleasant and accommodating. The décor was clean and modern. This further supports my belief that this general area of San Diego(Kearny Mesa) is a good place to go for well done sushi!

Not bad just slow and a little pricey. They had a calm cool feeling inside. The dude was switching channels between nfl games, it felt like home lol. The food was a 4⁄5. Just a bit dry. I would recommended it.

General: Nice for a quick lunch. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was quiet. Server responded appropriately, nothing out of the ordinary. Good: The food is tasty and the place is clean. There’s a cute little aquarium right when you step inside. The décor is really pleasant and there’s a sushi bar as well. There’s a sign saying to wait to be seated but the chef just motioned for us to pick wherever we’d like. The chairs have super high backs, something you don’t normally see on restaurants outside of booths. Bad: I don’t recommend the hot tea. It just. wasn’t good. We asked specifically about what was included in a dish and the waitress sounded off our choices but when the bill came, we were charged an extra dollar for our choice. Not a big deal, but it didn’t seem like she was an expert by any means.

I love this place! This is my go to spot when I want to order good sushi, sashimi, and bentos and I won’t forget to mention the low price of every thing my boyfriend and I order. We always get a rainbow roll or the caterpillar(without the eel sauce). It’s simple and tasty– always a nice palete cleanser with wasabi. Agedashi Tofu(deep fried tofu in a good broth), best I’ve had so far. Typically when I order it from restaurants the fried outside layer of the tofu is soggy and at that point unappetizing. Sake Sushi gets it right. Grilled Salmon bento… If you like fish and still want to be able to try a bit of everything on the menu this is great to order. It comes with miso soup, salad, tempura, California rolls, and of course salmon and rice. I absolutely love it. 良くできた!

The food was okay. It isn’t something I’d go back for. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box and a Spicy Tuna Roll for lunch. It came with lots of extras, but the flavor in the Spicy Tuna Roll was lacking and there was nothing spicy about it. The staff was pretty friendly and accommodating.

This place is pretty awesome! I used to drive by it all the time, and I finally tried it. The shrimp tempura roll is delicious! My friend got something with scallops, and that was really awesome, too. I went during happy hour, so i got a drink, too. The prices are good. My friend and I both got sushi rolls, one order of inari to split, and two beers, and the total was $ 20! Pretty good for sushi this good. Try it out!

The sushi was just okay; not bad, but I’ve had much better. Given the price for the rolls and the relatively small/thin amounts of fish in the rolls, I would not return.

Oh no! Ono!!! This place has THE best ono(white tuna) I have ever had in my life. I wasn’t even completely sold on ono until I devoured it here. The prices are awesome, making this my go-to place for a quick lunch time sushi fix. They have an albacore salad with a delicious dressing, and you can even substitute the albacore for ono for the same price. The seafood miso is also a must-try. GOODSTUFFSSSSS: *best ono ever *seafood miso *lobster jalapeño balls *snow roll *never too busy/crowded *super friendly staff who make good recommendations *super affordable

My boyfriend wanted to try this place out so we came on a Saturday afternoon after my haircut. Sat at the bar and ordered the: Hairy Salmon, Rainbow, Caterpillar and Spicy Salmon. They gave us cucumber salads while we waited for our sushi, which was delicious. Everything came out pretty fast and was good. Salmon probably wasn’t the freshest since it was a bit chewy and there was bones in the eel from our Caterpillar roll. Other than that, everything was pretty good and service was great, our server checked on us often and refilled our waters a lot. We also got a $ 1 off some of our rolls, awesome. Would come back again if we’re in the area.
