These guys are great. We just moved into our home and the old Gaffer and Sattler range need some help. They not only fixed it, but he gave me a run down of all the features.
Our only down side with them is that they are so busy they can not take on any new restoration work on old stoves. Will have to wait and hope a call in the future they will have some time for the work.
Would recommend them to anyone.

I have a 1940’s O’Keefe & Merritt. RMR has been exceptionally helpful in troubleshooting its little hiccups. They’ve provided advice over the phone to save a service call! When they did do a service call, they were on time, courteous, pleasant and professional. They spotted the problem in no time and showed me how to deal with a couple of simple fixes myself. They know these old babies inside out and can keep them in tip top shape. RMR service is exceptional!

I’m from out of town visiting my kids and grandchildren. Since my son and his wife bought this older home I always smelled a faint odor of gas which concerned me. They had someone come when they first moved in, but the gas smell remained and the were told it was okay. Since I noticed it right away when I arrived I decided to get it fixed for them. This business is amazing!!! Since they couldn’t come out for a few days they had me look at a few things while on the phone. Right off the bat the gentleman that was working with me helped me find a pilot light that was out. He walked me through lighting it. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to have a polite and knowledgable person helping. Definitely this should be your #1 call if you have an older appliance. Thank you for making my life easier.

This company deserves TEN STARS!!! They are the absolute BEST! I had a problem with my mid 50’s O’keefe & Merritt stove, the oven wouldn’t come on. I called and left a message (after 5pm), my call was promptly returned the next day and the lady I spoke with, told me OVER THE PHONE, where the safety button was and when I pushed it, then turned on my oven, IT WORKED!!! As a single woman, I have dealt with so many dishonest service people, it’s not even funny. They could’ve come out and charged me a service call, as so MANY other companies would’ve, but these people are honest and decent. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again. Thank you RMR!!!

I called RMR to fix the door on our Wedgewood oven. Received a call back the same day and got an estimate over the phone. On appointment day, Mike and his assistant were very professional, friendly and polite. I love nice, honest companies!

Mike and Rena are wonderful. They repaired our O’Keefe & Merritt stove. It smelled like gas and had some missing buttons. They did a fabulous job. Very professional and so polite!!! Highly recommend. I wish I had called them earlier.

This is such a great specialty company. Mike and his assistant repaired the main gas valve for my vintage oven in my new house. If you have an older appliance then this company is a no– brainer to hire. They have a ton of experience with older appliances and actually enjoy working on them too.
So glad I found them and didn’t get rid of the old oven in my house.

These guys were exceedingly helpful over the phone and via email. After being turned away by two other appliance people, even though it is not their specialty, they created an excellent rebuild solution for a problem with my vintage Airstream stove.

Yes, Mike & Rena are as good as it gets. Down to earth and experts in vintage ranges and I’m confident in everything they do. Couldn’t have had a better experience and very reasonable. RMR Recently came to my house to look at an older oven that I have. He researched my oven and found that their service vendor does not work on my oven’s safety system any longer. They came the week of Thanksgiving and did not charge me since they could not help me out. Nice, honest people.

Great customer service, excellent knowledge, and went the extra mile on my 1950s Chambers. Would recommend to all who need him in a heartbeat!

Excellent service, on time, friendly and answered all my questions about my cool old Wedgewood oven. They also sell parts, was able to replace two broken knobs and two missing oven racks for a reasonable price. My oven works like a dream now.

My old stove refused to heat above 300 degrees. Useless for most baking and all pizzas. I called RMR several times over a period of ten days and always got the voice mail. Finally, I sent an email and got a reply within hours.
This is what makes RMR so professional: They did not have the thermostat I need and admitted it may take them awhile and referred me to a different company. I feel I can trust them because they had my best interest at heart and not necessarily their bottom line. I will refer all my old stove loving friends and if I ever need anything else, I’ll call RMR again.

I recently moved into the cutest old house in North Park. When the landlord walked me through the house, she started with the kitchen. Smart Lady, there is a wonderful old O’Keefe and Merritt Stove and I immediately fell in love. Until I tried cooking on it and the door of the upper stove kept falling open and I burnt my fingers trying to hold the upper door open and using the bottom oven. Not to mention the broiler not working and only being able to use ½ of this beautiful bit of machinery.
My Landlord told me it couldn’t be fixed, and I thought I was up for the challenge to find the Antique Stove Specialist. I had her call RMR and they made a special trip out here outside of their normal business hours. Mike was wonderful! He looked at my door and said, «I don’t want to scare you, but this is the worst door I have ever seen. But don’t worry, I can fix it!» He even knocked (literally) my broiler back into working order and helped me plan my Bachelorette Party in Mexico’s Wine Country. Can you say «Full Service»?

Having an older stove, it’s worrisome when something doesn’t work correctly. Is is broken? Can it be fixed? After getting calling around, I called RMR to see if they could help and sure enough they fixed it all. My thermostat needed replacing so it wasn’t my cooking that sucked. They were ON TIME, Efficient, beyond reasonable, really nice, and last but not least, no butt crack– you know what I mean ladies. Nothing worse than that. Their prices were very fair. They also educated me on the year of my stove and that the quality is so much better than a new stove that just «clinks» when you shut the oven door. Nice to know that not only is my stove pretty but it’s a keeper. My stove and oven work great now and I know who to call if I need anything done on it.

I was ready to junk my old O’Keefe & Merritt stove — due to a broken oven door and years of having to light the burners with matches — and called RMR to see if they wanted it for parts. I’m so grateful I did. Mike told me all these things were easy to fix, which he and Rob did, for a fraction of the cost of the new stove I would have had to buy. During their house call, they pointed out all the unique features of my stove, which I didn’t even know about. I bought it used years ago, and am not exactly a Food Network-​level cook. Mike & Rob are not only experts at what they do, but clearly enjoy their work. And I have a whole new appreciation for my stove. Such nice guys. They’re like the Click & Clack of stoves. You just want to have beer with them. And jot down their tips for better broiling.
