WHAT?! Revivals is CLOSED?! My God, this place was a gem. They had the best furniture pieces I ever saw. I bought my bed there 2 years ago and was shocked when I came out here today to look for some more furniture pieces to find the location closed! The staff was friendly and you could always find a little something here. It was always very neat, clean and organized. Clothing was not always sized well, and you sometimes had to dig and search to find your size or fit, but that was always part of the fun. Cute kitchen items here too. I hope they open another location, because I loved this place. Sad to see so many businesses in Hillcrest closing up shop.

Closing effective 2÷28÷2015 — almost nothing left — whats left is really on sale.
Loved them and sorry to see them go.

Probably my favorite thrift store in San Diego. Clothes, shoes, kitchenware, furniture. I never leave empty handed. Pretty good selection and it is very cheap.

Ok this place is pretty awesome for a thrift store. The staff isn’t ever really friendly to me, but they are never rude and always helpful when I need it.
Very organized and clean. I usually go here for household goods. Not clothes.
Upstairs has new furniture. Kinda cool, but I’ve never bought any of it.
What I like best is I don’t feel overwhelmed, crowded, and surrounded by a musty smell that other places have.
They have super good deals too.

I used to volunteer here so I went in to look at the used furniture and they no longer sell it… well, there were a couple of things in a corner. I was totally bummed out :(It was good to say hi to my friends too.
It just seems weird that a thrift store sells 95% new furniture and all the other stuff is used, which is cool. It seems they have gotten too commercial. But, it’s for a great cause and I’ll be back for my winter sweatshirts to wear around my ice cold apartment :)

This is a nice little thrift shop with friendly employees. I have to be in the right mood to shop for clothes at a thrift store and you can bet during the summer I’m never in the mood to pick through racks and racks of clothing, so I usually just head towards the back of the store to check out the mugs and other miscellaneous items.
There were lots of cute knick-​knacks here and — what? There’s an entire upstairs with brand new and reasonably priced furniture. I’m not sure what the quality of the stuff is, but it felt decent enough for the cost.
This shop is very open and tidy so we spent a good amount of time inside, poking around at their various items. The jewelry and purses weren’t very impressive, but they seemed to have a good selection of clothing.

Solid thrift store with everything from clothes and furniture to books and records. Giant table of Christmas/​Holiday décor items was on display for special markdown when I went recently. I mean, if you’re into that whole Christmas-​in-​July thing.
Furniture section is surprisingly well curated and items were selected with care. As a result though, as others have said, pricing is fairly high for a thrift store due to the like-​new quality in this department.
Clothes are about what you expect for a thrift store and finding good stuff is a treasure hunt. Well organized sections by clothing type (skirts, blazers, blouses, etc) and it’s not messy as at other stores.
Favorite section was the books though– hardcovers are a cheap $ 2 and paperbacks are $ 1, cookbooks are a dollar each more, though I didn’t see any and don’t know why the price would increase for them. Happily picked out $ 10 worth of books, which I usually spend on a single new paperback when bought new.
Staff was really friendly when I checked out and mentioned their special days for discounts (not that I remember the specifics), and for better or worse, no one approached me as I searched the store for goodies.

Very organized with good prices but just another thrift store, basic selections, but very helpful & cordial staff, sure they aren’t on the floor, asking you & assisting you, but you aren’t at Macy’s or Nordstrom girlfriends!
Besides, I don’t like being asked, «Help you look for something, May I help you etc.»
Revivals brings a new twist to the thrift or vintage store experience-​well lit, comfortable temperature, clean & organized, and to me that’s a new twist instead of:
«Clutter, Clutter, ‘Ya Can’t Even Slide In Between Racks, Not Even With Butta!»

In these stores, the fun of it is rummaging through items to seek hidden gems or treasures.
Some extra mirrors in the clothing section would help too, and they have more of just that, [clothing] than anything else, but just like other thrift stores they get what they get and put it out there.
ALL the items were in good condition, displayed and surprising organized compared to other places of this type in fact, many items were like new, the type of new that somebody received the item for a gift, then decided it was not for them and rather than re-​gift, they donated it for a tax right off.
We didn’t find the nautical things we were looking for to attend a themed Unilocal event, but I scored on some cool vases that were great reproductions of the Art Deco era.
I’m a fan, and when the mirrors are in so I can see if I need to call Jenny or not by standing sideways when I try on some clothing items for summer like shorts etc., this place will be as good as it gets.
Also, like my friend Wendy B penned in her review, (I’d have made a purchase too just the same even if it was something I didn’t need), because much of the monies they receive go to AIDS organizations, one of which I was a Program Director, Positive Steps in the 1990s; still going strong I’m sure because of their altruistic generosity & compassion.

–Only two dressing rooms and it was really hot when trying on clothes. Bring some water to stay cool.

You definitely need to take a trip to Revivals if you are looking for new furniture.
Their upstairs area has a decent selection of brand new furniture (which I’m pretty sure they get on super-​clearance from Jerome’s. Case in point, I bought a $ 600 couch at Jerome’s and saw the exact same couch at Revivals a year later (still brand new with tags) for about $ 300). They have brand new bed frames (about $ 150), couches, and dining room tables/​chairs ($ 80-​ish) for a lot cheaper than you’d find at retail stores.
The clothing section is decent, but I usually find «cuter» stuff at GoodWill. The prices are definitely cheaper than GoodWill (maybe $ 2 for a shirt!?!), so if you do find something you like, you’ve totally scored.
I love this store for the furniture offerings and take friends here whenever they tell me they’re in the mood to outfit their new place with something to lay or sit on. Go here before you go retail furniture shopping!

But honestly besides that, there really isn’t very much to choose from. I got bored quickly looking through the clothes. As good of a deal they might be, they are still really outdated.
The service at checkout was really friendly, but no one really goes out of their way to help you while you shop or anything.
The store is also pretty clean. They have a furniture selection on their top floor and quite a bit to pick from. Most of it is pretty new, if not all.

This place is ok. Shanel S. and I came here after a great luck hag T Deli to waste some time. It has a lot of nice furniture downstairs and upstairs, and there is a good selection of men and women’s clothing. A lot of this stuff was surprisingly inexpensive! The t-​shirts are all $ 1, tank tops are two for $ 1. I ended up browsing the vinyl record they had on the floor by the books and movies. I found some pretty great ones! There were no prices posted, so I was assuming they’d be a few dollars each. I decided on four to get and went up to the register to pay. The man rung me up and said «that will be $ 1 even!» I was so surprised!!! Four awesome records for ONE DOLLAR! I’ll definitely be going back to scour for more!
The only reason I give it 3 stars is because some of the stuff they have is a bit overpriced. Some of the items (furniture, clothing) are priced like-​new, which isn’t what I’m looking for at this type of store.

Revivals is cool, but the reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because of the badass records I have found here for 25 cents each. I’m not kidding, you don’t even realize the gems you can find in there when you see the somewhat hidden cases on the far right hand side.

There’s a lot to choose from at this store. The older gentleman at the counter is very friendly and welcomes you as you walk through the door.
There are some items are can be fairly expensive, usually the newer items or those that are designer, but it looks like they run a fair amount of sales. I got a new vintage style 1930s coat for $ 12 (it was $ 24, but I got 50% off during their sale). The dresses, shirts and other items are hit or miss but generally fairly priced.
This will definitely be one of my stops when thrift shopping.

Another thrift that has prices too close to new. I know it goes to a good cause but people are looking for bargains. Many of us are on a fixed income and if we’re looking for a good used piece of furniture that would cost $ 300.00 new, we will be unable to pay anywhere close to the $ 250.00 that this store is asking. There’s just too much of the «HIGH THRIFT STORE PRICING» IN SAN DIEGO, led by the big boy, Goodwill Industries, and they get all their merchandise for free.
This is a nice place to browse but be careful what you buy and don’t be afraid to walk out empty handed. There are several other thrifts located within walking distance that have better prices.

This place is conveniently located where I just need to push a shopping cart down the street in order to donate, so I tend to bring my piles of stuff here at least twice a year (you know, when I do the mass clean out.)
I’ve looked around a few times at the items for sale, and it seems like the things I tend to like the most (furniture, lamps, patio stuff) are always new and extremely high priced. So, I can’t say I’ve ever made a purchase here, but if they’re as easy to deal with inside as they are at the donation drop off it should be a pretty simple process.

This place is right around the corner from my apartment, and it’s the sweetest thing! The volunteers were so welcoming, the items were pretty quirky, and they have a whole furniture sale thing upstairs, which is kinda weird for a thrift store, but the prices are pretty good! (new furniture, bee tee dubs.)
I had a whole explanation of how that place runs from one of the volunteers, and where the proceeds go to. They also mention a few other thrift stores around the block with different charities, which makes it nice that they’re not competing with each other and just wanna help the world out.
Anyway, I bought a cat picture frame, a few candle sticks, and a few other things that I don’t remember for like, 8 bucks total! I’m definitely stopping by again when I get the chance! :)

Revivals is well known in the Palm Springs area. We go there often, and can’t get enough of the treasured finds. Their stores are known for their generous support to the Aids Foundation, and their new and good quality used and some antique furniture, household, clothing, art, and other donated items that will get you curious and addicted to making frequent visits to their stores.
So it was great surprise and pleasure to find yet another store in San Diego.
While smaller than others, they still have a classy, sometimes flamboyant (wink wink) store here. It appears that this store has a lot of new inventory (bedroom sets, living room furnitiure). But you can still find wonderful, interesting deals.
We had a fun visit today, and ended up getting a small dining set for the son’s apartment today. We are once again very happy with our purchase.

Another great buy from Revivals! I recently painted my living room and needed a new couch! Now I know the couches might not be the beat deal at Revivals, but they have a great selection and they’ve been so good to me with my many other purchases, I decided to go with them for a new couch!
Picked up a great apache white leather couch! My mother said Revivals is my new IKEA, but better quality! Best observation of the month! Haha
Seriously, Revivals continues to provide me with some item that I can’t live without, weather a vase, painting, martini glasses, a chair, a couch (both leather) or books! Revivals and I have become good friends, haha
