Peter is an excellent stylist. He’s been cutting and coloring my hair for about 2 ½ years now. We found the perfect blond highlight solution for my hair and he knows just what to do when I show him a photo to request a new style. He knows his stuff and will be realistic with you about the limits of your particular hair. For example, mine is very straight and fine, so some styles I can’t get to look right because they require coarser/​thicker hair or heavier texture. He still works miracles with texturizing shears though and has all kinds of advice on how to apply product. He even sells his own products too. He listens to my needs, has a positive calming attitude, and does a great job.
He takes pride in his work and makes sure you feel at home and cared for. It’s a personalized, non-​rushed experience and we always have fun dishing about life, current events, philosophical things, and what’s been happening since the last visit. You will not be bored! He is witty, sassy, and SO funny. Not for the faint of heart! He reads people well though and will relate to you as an individual, so I’m sure you will be happy with him on a personal level no matter what. He does not put up with crazy people’s bullshit though, so be respectful, considerate and genuine and he will treat you like a king or queen.
A few miscellaneous items. Call ahead if you need to change an appointment. Peter prefers that to email, and he’s usually available to answer or return calls. He can accept credit card payments on his mobile devices, cash of course, and he also barters for goods and services if you happen to offer something for which he may have a need. He does a lot of creative stuff on the side and helps people find the right car, or furniture for their house, or things like that for reasonable fees. He does a lot, so ask and he may be able to help you with a number of things outside of hair or beauty.
Give him a try. You will not be disappointed.

Just received an amazing cut and color from Peter, owner of Raymond’s Boutique Salon. He is a master at his craft. Haven’t had such a customized cut in years! His color is organic and covers my grey as well. He has his own Organic Shampoos, conditioners and styling products that are delightful and efficient. He said he would make my hair shine, and he did! Peter truely cares about his clients and delivers a total experience when you are in his salon. So excited – Now I can wear my hair blown out or naturally curly, without fussing with it! I have moved over 17 times based on my career! As a result, I have had many hair stylist over the last 25 years. I would say Raymond is #1 of the total 20 stylist I have tried over the years. He takes the time to listen to your needs, explains what he is doing… and the atmosphere is private, professional and 1:1 attention.
There are not 5 to 10 booths around you…
He has a private space that is «spa like» for his clients. He took time to provide me with a 10 – 15 min scalp massage on top of an outstanding hairstyle and color! His prices are also are very reasonable! He could charge more but he doesn’t. He loves what he does and it shows in how he treats you and the «end result» of a beautiful hair style etc… He also has a great-​line of organic hair products he had developed… also very reasonably priced. His goal is your beauty and great sense of self!!!

I just got my hair cut and colored with Peter and my experience was amazing! Peter has an amazing energy to him, and all the conversations I have with him are enlightening and philosophical. I recommend everybody to go to Raymond’s boutique! He has been doing my girlfriends hair for several years and her hair always looks amazing as well. Getting your haircut by Peter is like having a personal experience that goes beyond having a haircut. I always look forward to seeing Peter and my hair has never looked this good!!!

I meant to write this about a month ago after I went to see him, better late than never. I became a member of Unilocal just to write about my experience with Peter. What a nice human being! Great cut, Great attention, overall great! I often worry about small salons because one person ends up cutting your hair all the while, answering phones AND trying to deal with customers coming in the store to buy product, etc. If I am paying for your time, I want you complete attention — and i got it! He is passionate about what he does and takes his craft seriously. He also gave me great tips about the area. I will see him again.

I recently experienced the great treat of having my hair cut and styled
by Raymond. As someone who travels frequently and has
utilized the services of some of the most talented stylists in NYC
and Los Angeles I believe that he ranks among the best.
I found him responsive to my specific needs as well as sensitive to
the many requirements and insecurities that I have, like many people
in a first-​time experience with a hairdresser.
He carefully explained and showed me exactly what he was doing at
all times to allay my concerns about cutting off too much hair, unlike
some stylists who take creative liberties that may not suit the client’s
own preferences albeit providing great cuts! He also demonstrated
some helpful follow-​up and maintenance styling techniques to
improve my hair’s appearance.
As a low maintenance kind of gal, I felt that he gave me a cut that worked with my hair type as well as providing a style that I could live with performing the minimum upkeep. I was surprised at how well his products did work wonders on my damaged, color-​treated hair! Also, I found his treatment very healing energetically as well… As a professional psychic, I am very hyper-​sensitive to peoples’ touch, particularly that of hairdressers, and am extremely cautious about who I work with in this capacity.
I highly recommend Peter as a Pisces-​healer type who treats more
than one’s hair! I felt renewed and refreshed and ready for a new
start the day after experience with Peter.

I noticed the negative review somewhere on this site and I must
say I am surprised. I realize that not everyone is for everyone no
matter HOW great they are! It is unfortunate that one person and
her wedding party manifested a negative experience with Peter,
but I would say that this is certainly not the norm for this individual
as I know him. I will definitely recommend him highly to my
network of friends, clients and associates.

Take if from someone who hates getting his hair cut. In other words, I go three times a year whether I need it or not. What a wonderful experience! Peter took his time, was very professional and comforting. Such a relaxing experience that I’m actually looking forward to going back. The time flew by and I have been recommending to all my friends.

I met Peter somewhat randomly in San Diego through one of my projects for work, and he was kind enough to give me his business card. I just moved to San Diego and was dreading the process of finding a stylist — but now that dread is gone.
In San Diego I’d tried the Young Attitudes salon in La Jolla and was not really impressed with the cut I’d received. My hair is wavy and I have a larger face shape so to get a flattering cut requires that someone really know what they’re doing — and Peter does.
I thought his pricing was beyond fair for the personalized attention and care you get, and his hair cutting skills were exceptional. I really appreciated that he also took the time to explain to me how he was going to cut my hair in order to give the most optimal cut for *me*.
Just FYI — it is cash only, so just remember to stop by an ATM in advance.

Peter Raymond has been styling my hair for about 7 months. He gives wonderful personal attention and the best haircuts I have had in a very long time if not the best ever. I really like his organic haircare products and make-​up line. He is a jewel, a joy to be around, the best.
