Ate here. Food was pretty good until me and my Roommate spent the next 3 days puking from food poisoning!!! Had to go to the ER twice. Not worth it!

Every time I try to give this place another chance to be what I loved when I first started coming here, they screw up. This time, I have been hung up on twice after being put on hold, while trying to place an order for pick up. What a damn shame, this place is literally within a 5 minute walk from my house. Thanks a lot, Gregory, or whatever your name is. Placing an order elsewhere, and this time I won’t be giving you another shot.

I am a local and have passed by this restaurant on many occasions, but had never considered eating here until last month when i attended a seminar at a local hotel. I was pleasantly surprised with this selection. Great view of the marina, outstanding service and the food was very tasty, Since the initial visit, I have returned on two separate occasions. I have enjoyed their«Best» salad, their minestrone soup, the corn chowder and the artichoke dip. On my last visit, there was a short wait for seating, but I was alone so I really didn’t mind because I had specifically requested a booth and they were very crowded(Thursday night). After I had been seated and was patiently waiting for my food, the hostess came to my table with a complimentary artichoke dip(appetizer) and was very apologetic for my «long wait». Wow… how thoughtful of her… Needless to say, I will be back. I love how friendly the waiters are and I hope to try some of the foods suggested in the reviews!

Good service and amazing pizza. The Thai Chicken was out of this world! My wife and I split a 10″ and it was plenty. A definite must visit. The ambience on the patio was cozy with the fire table and lighting.

I thought this place was great. Enjoyed the garlic knots that came out early(everyone gets), the wood fire pizza was very good and they had a nice selection of drafts/ipas. Right on the bay makes for a great view. Great quality food, great service and great location.

Pizza Nova has four locations in southern California. I cannot speak for the other three locations, but the food at this one was outstanding. The complimentary garlic bread knots were pretty good, although I would have liked them better without garlic. The meatball appetizer was also very good. There were three large meatballs in a marinara sauce. I could see these meatballs making a great sandwich or making a nice topping for some kind of pasta. The thin pizza was the star of the meal, however. One option was a sausage and onion pizza. I elected for it without the onions. The sausage was tangy and spicy, and the crust was light enough that I was able to eat five pieces. Service was smooth and pleasant. The view of the sailboats in the harbor is also a nice touch, and most likely is better on a sunny day. But that has nothing to do with the food and is only a bonus. I may have to try another pizza later this week before leaving. If you are in this area and feel like having Italian food, I recommend stopping at Pizza Nova. I should point out that the food is a bit pricey, as some other posters have noted. It is worth it, I think.

I was sold when they brought the garlic knots to our table. The menu is extensive and the salad selection looked very good, so we decided on The Best Salad which was very big and very good! My girlfriend is gluten free, so she was excited that they offered gluten free crust. We were excited about the mediterranean pizza, but our waiter sold us on the portobello, pancetta, black truffle oil pizza. The pizza was really good, but it wasn’t much to it, so next time, I think I will go for the mediterranean instead. What is not mentioned on the menu is the fact that you can order a small personal pan pizza and they will also allow you to order 2 pizzas in one pie as long as they have the same sauce. If you have a large group, I suggest calling ahead to reserve the table on the patio that is surrounded by the fire pit. Very cute and cozy!

Ordered this for delivery when we were staying at one of the Shelter Island Resorts. They provide small personal sized pizzas and 14″ medium sized ones, as well as pastas, salads, and entrée dishes from their restaurant. I enjoyed the pepperoni with fontina and mozzarella cheese pizza. The pizza is on a thin crust and wood oven baked with a tiny bit of char on the bottom. The garlic bread rolls were garlicky, soft and doughy on the inside and very delicious and don’t forget to try some of their moist, delicious tiramisu. I found that this place was an excellent value for the quality and convenience that they offered.

Definitely try the Chicken Tequila fetuchini! Very delicious and flavorful :) My friends loved the house salad and the short rib dish. The short rib was a bit fatty but amazing at the same time. The booths were comfortable and the music and mood lighting were perfect.

If you go here for no other reason, go for the plate of hot garlic rolls they will bring to your table. But, there are many other reasons to go. We showed up on a Saturday evening, a party of 10, and no reservation. I know, classy, huh? So the sweet hostess apologetically advises it might be 30 or 45 minutes. No problem… we expected it. They were able to seat us in about 20 minutes and apologized for the wait. Class act, unless us. So, anyway, they come with 2 plates filled with these heavenly garlic rolls, drenched in butter. Even my vegan son is drooling, right? The menu is well-rounded, with entrée salads, wraps, seafood, and pasta as well as pizza. They have a full bar and offer delicious non-alcoholic specialty drinks such as a fantastic blueberry lemonade… and it’s refillable! I shared a Mediterranean pizza(10″) and an entrée salad and both were perfectly prepared. They impressed me by having a large group of servers bring all 10 orders to the table at once. My friend had the spicy chicken wrap with pasta salad on the side and she was delighted, but half of the wrap had to be wrapped up… just too much food, but so good none of us wanted to stop eating. Also mentioned that it 2as definitely not overly spicy. Pizza was beautiful, plentiful and flavorful. My son enjoyed his generous portion of angel hair pasta with fresh tomatoes, garlic and basil. No marinara sauce here, but he liked what he got. Great waterfront location. Slight(I hope) issue with the bill. So besides not making a reservation, we also split the bill with different amounts being taken off of different cards and they correctly billed my card for the amount I requested, but also put a hold on my card for the full amount of the bill(my amount again, plus others’ and even for the amount paid with cash.) I expect this to be resolved today and trust it was an honest mistake. Could be a little more frequent with water refills, but those are tiny little issues. All in all, I highly recommend it!

The main thing I have determined is that the prices are far too high for the quality of food you receive. We spent close to 50 on takeout for an appetizer, specialty pizza and kids meal. It seemed to be wrong because of the extremely steep price, but the employee on the phone simply explained the high prices. I recommend at least going in for dinner Rather than getting delivery so you can at least pay for being served. The BBQ chicken pizza and appetizer wings were very tasty but on another visit, we were disappointed in the pasta dishes; both the tequila chicken and the chicken alfredo. Alfredo was extremely bland. The garlic knots that were brought to the table complimentary was very good. Calamari was a bit chewy but had good flavor. Ambience is on the casual side

Another pizza option. This place has some super delicious garlic knots. that are hand tossed with fresh garlic. If you plan to kiss someone after you eat these treats it might be a good idea to share the garlic knots with them. Just sayin Pizza Nova offers up draft beers and some local IPA’s. While serving up some delicious pizzas with a view of the water. My fave ouzza is the portabella, pancheta sausage and black truffle pizza. Their pastas are not bad either. They hav smaller tables and larger tables that are good for groups. They have seating upstairs but I have mot been up there. Friendly service. On a busy night they will give you a pager to wait to be seated.

When first seated we were served complimentary garlic bread which was filling. Had dinner with a girlfriend and we both ordered the mac and cheese. It was like any other mac and cheese — very oily. Added $ 1.50 for bacon for some protein. Our service was great the server was attentive. I would be back depending if I’m craving their bread!

Lunch or dinner this pizza place has a great Marina view. You will love the complimentary fresh baked garlic bread with rosemary and basil very oily and warm. My fave are always the Caesar Parmesan salad with chicken or shrimp. Must try!

I have been trying to come here but it’s always busy. They have a great lunch special for $ 11 pizza and salad. Plus, they start you with these garlic knots. The margarita pizza was great. But, the enormous amazing Caesar salad with home made croutons… My honey can’t stop thinking about it. I have the BBQ chicken salad. I honestly didn’t even need the dressing. It had so much flavor with out it. BUT, they do need to fix the bathroom circulation. It’s just all bad. It’s hot and it smell bad!

I tried out Pizza Nova last weekend after going Kayaking at an establishment down the way. My original impression wasn’t the best — When I asked for a table outside, there was one that needed wiped off. They quoted me 10 minutes… 10 minutes to wipe down a table and they weren’t that busy. Okay fine. We sat down. We were greeted relativity quickly by someone who took our initial order. Our drinks took awhile. In the mean time, our server came over and took our order. At the table, we ordered a gluten free pizza, a Shrimp pasta, lobster bisque, and a pizza and salad lunch combo. The food was outstanding! Must better than the service. Get the pizza and salad combo when you go, the portions are huge! Our server brought the check as I asked him if he could split the bill. He huffed and tossed out check on the next table as he walked away. Given that I asked politely, not sure his reaction was necessary. I still tipped him well as he did a good job prebussing and refining beverages. The three stars are for the excellent good. I hope my next visit will include better service so I can give this place more stars.

A plate with a pile of glistening balls of baked dough was placed onto the table. «Ooooh yeah,» I said, excitedly ready to tear into the garlic knot goodness. Only, they weren’t garlic knots. They were balls of bland, flavorless dough that somehow tasted undercooked – but weren’t undercooked. Baffled at how this bread could be so bland, someone at our table asked for some ranch dressing(I would have preferred marinara) and I was further confused at how the ranch added nothing to the the dough balls.(I guess it was a blessing in disguise because it stopped me from eating many of them.) The Ball Blandness was an indicator of things to come. The toppings on our pizza with arugula, tomato, and prosciutto may have been ok, but the foundation of the pizza was that same bland, super doughy-dough that is the mark of most unremarkable chain Italian restaurants. Me and my eating partner barely ate any. The tiramisu was quite tasty, however. On the bright side, our server was absolutely wonderful. This is a huge restaurant, and on a Friday night, was incredibly busy and loud. I would not recommend this for a quiet night out(or at least make sure you are seated away from the noisy kitchen).

Saturday evening. I mentioned to my husband we should get to Pizza Nova before the crowd. We were staying at a hotel across the street. Convenient and an easy quick walk and can’t comment on the parking issues. When we arrive there were already quite a few customers inside. Very nice atmosphere and décor, right on the harbor. We like to sit outside and our hostess let us choose where we would like to sit. At the time there was a family of 4 with all the other tables still empty. I recommend coming early if you can. We arrive just before 5 and by 6pm all the table outside were occupied. My husband likes to try local beers but not being familiar with them he asked for samples. Our server was very kind and went back to the bar three times till my husband settled on one. I made the mistake of ordering a Sangria but forgot to tell the server light on the simple syrup. It was way to sweet for me and felt bad for not ordering correctly… but she took it back without hesitation and even apologized that it was not to my satisfaction. It was taken it off the bill. When we travel we like to order calamari as appetizer, especially if we are eating at ocean front restaurants. It should be the freshest. We have had bad, really bad, the best ever and we have had unique and home made. Sadly Pizza Nova’s falls into the really bad. Definitely not homemade or breaded homemade. It was quite chewy and the breading not very crispy and hot. Luke warm. After 3 pieces I was done. My husband finished most because he was hungry. The menu has many options from vegetarian and offer gluten free pizza crust. From the great customer service we receive I would think that they would work with you if you had any dietary restrictions. Now to the pizza. Oh how I tried to make the best of it. 10 inch all white sauce, half Garlic Chicken and half Canadian Bacon and Pineapple. The crust was flat. It did not seem to have risen and was soggy. The white sauce was quite thin. If this is the same dough as the yummy complimentary rolls that come smothered in butter something went terribly wrong with our pizza. It was not light and fluffy like those rolls. Could of been a bad night. we can’t compare… we are from out of town. As we were leaving through the restaurant I notice it very busy with customers waiting for tables and many picking up to-go orders… again come early if you can. The service topnotch!
