I LOVE THIS PLACE! My 2 year old is not a big fan of getting hair cuts. I had been struggling to cut his hair for a little over 2 months. Nothing would do it. I took him to a couple of other places and as soon as I sat my son down and he started to cry and kick… The stylists would tell me they weren’t comfortable cutting his hair. Which infuriated me, but I understood. FINALLY, i heard about Pigtails & Crewcuts, took my son and as soon as we walked in,. he started crying and screaming, but all of the ladies there were so attentive, trying to calm him down. He chose the airplane, grabbed some lollipops and although it was still struggle. She was able to give my son a nice cut! I was so pleased! So happy! Def going back again! Will recommend to all of my friends!

After having a bad experience at another salon. I took my daughter here and I’m extremely pleased with their service. The stylist was really sweet and patient with my daughter offered her candies and toys to keep her calm. The salon is very kid friendly which is very important specially for toddlers to distract their attention. It’s very beautiful and clean. I will highly recommend the salon to my friends and family.
It was worth every penny! I’ll surely come here again.

I absolutely love this place. They are wonderful with little kids. I brought my son in when he was two for his first hair cut and I was expecting him to have a melt down. Well he did have a melt down but it wasn’t about the hair cut. The stylist cutting his hair let him look around and pick where he wanted to sit. He picked out an airplane and was thrilled. The stylist was very helpful and asked me how I wanted his hair cut, but I wasn’t really sure so she started cutting and kept asking how I liked it and if I wanted more off. She was great. The only problem I experience was when we were leaving. There are so many toys that my son didn’t want to leave and he had a melt down because we had to leave.
I have visited this place a few more times and the service is always wonderful. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is the price. I think over 20 dollars for a little boys hair cut that took 5 minutes is excessive.
They do offer a first time hair cut package for a little more and they give you a picture and a lock of hair. It is a nice way to remember the first hair cut.

They did a phenomenal job cutting my little guy’s hair today. His first haircut was so traumatic for him that I dreaded going for his second. My son loved the cars and airplanes to sit in during the haircut. They were masters of their craft with quick hands while someone else blew bubbles to distract him. I will definitely go back! Strongly recommend this place.

Worst haircut ever for my daughter! Gave specific instructions to not cut bangs too short — just a trim I said. The hairstylist chopped off more than an inch! I asked to cut her hair in the back of head and she cut it so badly that it looks so wild now. Will have to wait for it grow out now before I can correct this mess. Thanks for the worst experience P&C

This place is absolutely ADORABLE! We were nervous about getting my sons hair cut for the first time but this place made us all feel super comfortable.
They have the most adorable chairs for the kids to sit in, cartoons on the TV’s and lollipops/​animal crackers for the kids!
The stylist was kind and took her time cutting his hair. They use quiet trimmers so my son wasn’t scared one bit!
They have a cute option for $ 5 for a picture, card and a baggie for a lock of hair. Totally worth it!
I also loved that I was able to get $ 3 off by checking in on Unilocal and a military discount!
I would recommend this place to any parents for a first time hair cut or if your child just doesn’t like getting their hair cut. They’ll love it here.

This is a convenient and fun place for little kids. But the haircuts are at best, just acceptable for boys. There are a few regular and experienced stylists but the majority others appear to be just learning to cut hair.

Terrible hairdressers. I went there about 6 times with my son because the place itself is great and I know he likes it. We had a different person cut his hair each time and none of them are good. Their selling point is the salon with the great chairs and toys but their employees do a terrible job.

They are fast and efficient, which is soooo appreciated when dealing with little ones.
The ladies all seem very nice and patient with the kiddos and the adults.
Downside is it is expensive.

We had a not so great visit last time (crooked bang trim that took months to grow out) but our recent visit made up for it! Rosa is amazing. She knew exactly what I meant when I asked for a side bang trim — she thinned out the ends of my daughters bangs and it’s the perfect side sweep. The trim and layers around the front were perfect. I would go back again and see Rosa or Ronnie!

I was a little skeptical about bringing my baby boy (3yrs) here after reading a few of the negative reviews. One thing I did read was to call ahead to ensure he is put on the waiting list, just in case there is a line.
We arrived at about 1200 on Saturday. After a quick sign in, he was up in the Fire Truck ready to get his hair cut. His stylist was Remy and wow she was amazing with him. Very patient and very understanding in the type of cut that we wanted. We will definitely be back to see Remy in a few weeks.

This place is fantastic! Fernanda really knows her stuff– she always gets exactly what I mean. She’s great with my son, is awesome at keeping him perfectly distracted & just engaged enough, which is ESSENTIAL in this type of environment. Bring your little ones to her & she will not disappoint! Took my 10 months old baby here today for the first time. It’s a really fun and cute place for kids. Even though my little one started crying as soon as he heard the buzz come on, not once did I feel any frustrations coming from the girls that work there. One lady kept trying to distract my little one by bringing out toys and playing peek a boo.
In the end, I am extremely satisfied with the cut. The girl did an amazing job even on a crying, screaming, bouncing baby. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks pigtails and crewcuts!

Unless you want a traditional boy cut for your son, do NOT go here! My son has longer curly hair. I wanted a «surfer cut». I’ve taken him here 3x and not one of the stylists listened to my request. The first two times, he left with a bowl cut, looking like one of Ned Flander’s son’s on the Simpsons. The last time, I finally got the stylist to leave his hair a bit longer (even through she was convinced he’d «look like a girl»). I left and had to trim long stray hairs myself. In the end, the left side was INCHES longer than the right. I brought him to my stylist who was appalled. Stylists don’t listen and can only do a certain kind of hair cut.
The ONLY pluses are that they are kid friendly and the vehicle sets are pretty awesome.

My son just had his second cut by Andrea (4^th or 5^th cut ever though) and she did fantastic with him again! He was having no parts of today’s hair cut yet she still managed to work with him and made his hair look great for our family pictures tomorrow. A squirmy, fussy 3 year old was no match for her! I’m amazed she didn’t cut herself with how bad he was fighting but she managed to pull off the cut with all 10 fingers intact. I highly recommend her if your child may be apprehensive about the cut.

Service has really come down since my first review. The second time we went, the woman did a lazy job. Pretty much just combed my daughter’s hair back and cut a straight line shoulder to shoulder. K, $ 20 … Serious?
Third time was decent but I specifically told her about the ridiculous corners last time.
The last time I took her, the girl seemed exhausted and as I was paying she came over and begged for a break. Poor management …
For the cost, just not sure it’s worth it.

If you want to inflict the aggressively home cut, asymmetrical look of the new wave 90’s on your child – then this is the place for you! And, although your child will leave with a tragic «do” – they will also leave with a lollipop and a“sticky-hand» or some other kind of landfill garbage… so, win-​win, right?!
FYI-​I am leaving this review after two similar experiences and an unsatisfactory call in to management.

This place is everything that they promise and more! Had an amazing experience with my four year old. Everyone is very nice and very patient. There was plenty of fun things to keep the little ones occupied before and during the haircut, which came out super cute and was exactly what we wanted. Thank you!!!

This is an excellent little salon for kids. My daughter, 2, enjoyed herself, had zero whines or cries, and came away looking adorable. They have thought of everything to keep kids happy and interested here. I can’t even think of any suggestions.
–1 star because the prices are kind of high. $ 22 (+ tip) for a 12-​minute trim is a bit much. I think $ 15 would have been reasonable for the effort put in. Not all haircuts are created equally, so it would be nice if they’d differentiate based on complexity.
Anyway, for the few extra bucks, I didn’t feel robbed. Will be back, but only for special occasions.
