This is my favorite phở place all time! Better than phở cali, phở king. We tried different places of phở and this is the best one! Ive been going here for years, no complaints. The employees are nice and very friendly. Cash only tho.

Love this place. My favorite place for chicken phở and bun bo Hue. Good ingredients and not too salty. I don’t leave with a big msg headache here. Coconut drink is really good too. The people here are always really nice.

Solid phở spot. I ordered phở with just lean brisket, which I’ve had yet to find elsewhere. Generous portion of meat. Broth was not oily or greasy. Veg was fresh. I’ll be back.

The rudest staff of any restaurant– ANY restaurant– I’ve ever been to. The waitress acted like it was a favor to take my order. No smile. She got an attitude when I asked the pronunciation of an item on the menu and made a face like I was a dumbass. An older woman, likely the owner was no better— no smile even upon eye contact. I don’t want to make an assumption about the reason for any of this, but it was bizarre, to say the least. The food was good but there are EXCELLENT phở restaurants in San Diego and«good» ones are a dime a dozen. I will never step foot in this place again. Oh, and I recently moved one mile down the street from this place, so Phở Hiep lost out on a bit o’ money in the long run, as I love Phở, spring rolls, Thai tea, and layered desserts. Never again– the rudeness was off the charts. Wow.

Bön Bön hue is really oily and the service is terrible !!! The lady who took our order looks like she hates taking orders and when I asked for extra meat she rolled her eyes. BAD service. Baaaaad service.

The lady with a terrible attitude have me the look of death when I asked her for a receipt. I guess it’s offensive to ask for receipts around here. Lol Food was basic. Nothing special.

Used to eat here pretty regularly, but after finding a huge fly in my bowl of bun bo hue– who looked like he had been marinating in the broth for quite some time based on the look of his body– think I’ll spend my money somewhere else for better(and cleaner) food and better service. They gave us $ 1.50 off our bill to make up for the fly with a half hearted apology. In all fairness– they offered to bring out another bowl, but considering the fly could have been in the pot itself — opted to forgo the semi-sincere gesture. Also had the che trai cay, which is supposed to have some trai cay(vietnamese word for fruit) such as jackfruit(as you would find anywhere else), but was instead a whole glass of mocha mix with bits and pieces of canned gelatin. Horribly easy thing to skimp out on.

I must be losing it… I could have swore I wrote a review for this place already. Anyhow… Came here a few weeks ago and had lunch with the wifey. We’ve been here a few times. This restaurant is near the Rite Aid and is directly across from a laundry mat in a shopping plaza in Linda Vista. Parking wasn’t a problem, there is plenty of it. During peak hours, you may have to park further away from the restaurant though. We came in after the lunch rush(between 2 — 3pm), so it wasn’t too busy at all. We were greeted and seated by one of the wait staff there. He was friendly, brought us menus, and glasses of water. He gave us ample time and then took our order. The wife ordered a noodle soup(I don’t remember the name and can’t tell what it is by the picture I took). I ordered a rice vermicelli with grilled shrimp and pork. I needed a pick me up, so I ordered Vietnamese ice coffee. The food here is good. I liked the rice and noodle dishes they have here. I’m just not a huge fan of their phở… it’s not bad, I just prefer phở from other Vietnamese restaurants. This restaurant is nice and clean. Our waiter was attentive and our water was refilled. The only knock on this place is the lady that tendered our transaction wasn’t very nice or personable. I’d rate this place 3.5 stars… half of a star off for the cashier lady that was not very nice.

This place has great customer service and great food. We got number 20 the beef stew and number 12 the beef and brisket phở. For the appetizer we got the fried egg rolls. Not only did the food come out within five minutes all of it but it was absolutely amazing really really great quality Vietnamese food. We came in at about 6:30PM and there was about 5 to 10 other parties in the restaurant and I like the fact that they spaced evenly throughout the restaurant didn’t try to put us in one little area for one server

I really liked this place. After doing some researching on vietnamese places to eat this was one of the few that catered to having bun bo hue which is my all time favorite vietnamese dish. It was very spicy and had a huge portion of different meats. I would like a little bit more noodles than what was given but i guess the meat made up for it. The service was very nice as they served us water even if we barely drank it to half glass. I will for sure be coming back here next time im in socal

The best phở in San Diego! Very generous meat portions, where as some other places only give U a few pieces of meat. This is the only place where sometimes I can’t even finish the meat! The pricing is right on and the place is very clean. Definitely my go to spot

I’ve been here a couple times. The food was good, but it’s hard to say if its good enough for 4 stars. I’d have to give it a couple more tries. The phở broth had flavor. There was a lot of fatty oils on the surface of the broth. This place wasn’t disappointing. It’s a place to go if you live in the area, but I wouldn’t want to drive out of my way to eat here, since there seems to be as many phở restaurants as there are Starbucks in San Diego. The location and the fact that they do not accept CASH are the main reasons for the 3 star review.

I don’t know where to start. This phở joint is located in the corner of Linda vista inside a complex. As I enter there was dishes left all over the tables, the workers seems distracted in the back talking to each other. My family and I sat ourselves down, and then the workers cleaned off the other tables. When we sat down, a young lady made her way down to ask what we wanted to order. She was sweet! We ordered Phở xe lua & phở tai chin: the broth was decent, lacked a lot of flavors. There was a good portion of meat in the soup. Egg rolls: absolutely disgusting! It tasted like it has been frozen for a long time and they just fried it. Com tam: big portion, the meat was good. The bi tasted funky. Thai tea: too creamy. Didn’t taste the tea at all. Overall a decent experience, wished the people were more alert. When I went to pay, the women was on her phone. That was rude. If you were going to be on your phone, don’t be at the cash register.

With every phở place the first thing you want to know is 1) is it clean and 2) how’s the phở. The place is pretty clean with amble parking space. The phở is pretty good and fairly cheap. Their broth is flavorful, not overly sweet(aka msg) or salty. Their bun bo hue on the other hand was extremely disappointing, it was sweet and bland, but the good thing about their bun bo hue is that they give you plenty of meat and a good variety of it too I might add. Be warn this is a CASH only place and their cash only sign is hidden behind a plant.

Delicious & love the feel of the restaurant. Very comfy & cozy with a great feng shui. Staff is delightful & we always have a great meal there. Linda waited on us today & suggested their chicken soup for me, which was perfect. Ngon lam! We also had some chopped duck, on the side. Also delish. I also had a Vietnamese coffee, which finished dripping in the french coffee press & was«right-on-time» after the meal.

I am so glad I found this place… And that it’s right down the street from my job… The food has always been excellent. No matter what I order… The portion size is generous and the prices are great.

Great place. Much better than anticipated. Walk in and it’s busy as hell, pretty nice and clean. Great sign. Gets even better when I see bun bo hue on the menu. Have to go with that and a tea to measure a place for the first time. The tea was disappointing. Weird aftertaste. The bun bo hue was way better than I expected. Chock full of everything and put together beautifully. Herb plate was super fresh and done perfectly. The broth was very good, but I’d prefer more spice and heat. A hair on the sweet side. Noodles were done nicely with the right ratio. Very generous portions of meat that were all perfect. Got a huge chunk of dark chicken meat in there, that was a first for me but I’m definitely not complaining. Needed a little more mint and limes over lemons, but it was still great. I think they’re in my top 5 bun bo hue places for San Diego right now and that’s saying something. I’ll stop here anytime I’m in the area.
