This place was amazing! At first sight, the long line almost made me not go in — but 10 minutes later I was ordering my food and getting a table. Huge portions, delicious food — it’s worth the trip every time! :)

There’s a reason why this place is so hyped up and sometimes the wait will be more than an hour. But it’s so worth it! Prices are reasonable and no matter what you order, you’ll always leave extremely satisfied. I usually just get the beefy rib tickler. It’s about $ 7 for two onion rings, coleslaw, and French fries. It’s definitely worth every buck! However, I got a rib/chicken dinner with fries and macaroni salad. My boyfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was HUGE! It consists of a huge pile of tender and delicious meat, their signature BBQ sauce, & coleslaw(inside or on the side). The employee suggested getting coleslaw on the side if you don’t like foods that are«too sweet.» My meal was so heavenly. Usually, when cooking chicken can turn out pretty dry however my chicken was tender and cooked to perfection. But the spotlight was on the ribs! Some parts of the ribs were more tender than others, but for the most part the meat was just comin right off the bone! YUM plus the ratio of sauce to meat was on point! Phils is always finger lickin goooooood! Tip: just ask for ranch when you pick up your food rather getting charged for it at the cash register. The customer service is always excellent! The employees are always willing to help no matter what question you have especially if you’re a newbie! There’s always someone asking how many is in your party, controlling the flow of traffic, asking if you’ve ever been to Phil’s, offering ranch, utensils, etc.

Talk about an amazing combination — Phil’s BBQ while watching the ballgame? Amazing! The food here isn’t quite as good as going to one of the actual restaurants, and I’m not sure why, but it’s still really good. It can be kinda hard to eat ribs without a table if you want to go to your seat and eat it there so I suggest getting one of their sandwiches, like the pulled pork or the tri-tip. You just can’t come to a Padres game without getting something from here!

There is definitely a reason why there is consistently an hour + wait… believe the hype, folks! I do love that they have so many employees helping out, directing the flow of traffic, and finding customers seats as well :) Plus, they’re all surprisingly friendly and we were helped and checked up on several times during our meal. We ordered: Sausage Link: It has a very firm texture and robust flavor… tastes amazing and was a good«in between» from our ribs to our baby back ribs. Baby back ribs: I feel like they put a different herb or something(more dill perhaps?) so it tastes slightly different from the beefy ribs. It’s fall off the bone tender and goes quite delicious. Beefy ribs: These are what my friends get without fail, rain or shine. Flavor is spot on and it will satisfy your inner carnivore. Some parts of the meat were harder to chew at, but overall meaty, thick, and juicy(TWSS)…you won’t regret ordering this! Fries: My only gripe… they were a dry and tasteless, though with creole seasoning and ranch/bbq sauce, they were made agreeable. This is probably the only dish I didn’t enjoy. Everything was definitely delicious, and in big quantities as well… I don’t recommend ordering too much though – no, not because you’ll overeat – but because the BBQ flavor gets overwhelming after a while and it’s just too much, at least for me anyway. Bf and I ate $ 70 worth of ribs so… maybe y’all wont get that problem! This is definitely my favorite all American BBQ joint(my ultimate fave is actually a Filipino-American Fusion BBQ joint in LA), and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back soon… everyone always wants to come here!

Never dreamt it would have taken moving to SoCal to have ribs this good. Hands down the best around. Wouldn’t even think of going to another BBQ place. The food is outstanding, the customer service is exceptional, and for that I’m hooked! We went there as a family of 4, and two members of their team checked in with us throughout our meal, brought us extra napkins and wet naps, carry out boxes, etc. They run a phenomenal operation!

Best bbq in san diego. This is a must have every time we visit the area. The ribs are so tender and the sauce is finger licking good. I love the macaroni salad too. Be prepared to wait, usually a line out the door. We always call in our order

best BBQ in SD. A couple locations in SD. it competes to home BBQ I’m used to in North Carolina! Tip– go in and sit at bar and eat there. Don’t wait in the potentially long line.

Best deal in Petco for food. $ 10 will fill you up. Very large servings. Not as good as the regular Phil’s, but for ball park food it’s a great deal.

PHIL’S BBQ at Petco Park was easily the best food that I have ever eaten at a ballpark. My wife and I had a big lunch, so we shared the Pulled Pork Sandwich. It was monstrous! It was a heaping pile of pork and cole slaw on a bun, and also came with two sides(we chose two macaroni salads). We ate about half of the meat and slaw with a fork, and then ate the rest on the bun after it was more manageable. If I had to give any negative, it was that it was messy? I took off my jersey in anticipation, and I did have a huge spill on my wife beater. The service was outstanding too! I was debating between the sandwich or the ribs and the nice girls threw in a rib so I can get a taste. It too was A+! I’d love to try the restaurant sometime, until then — the ballpark kiosk will do. Can’t wait to go back for more! 5 stars!

Beef ribs sooooo moist tender and succulent. Every bite was like a taste of heaven. Customer service was mind blowing. We packed leftover succulent rib bits to go but forgot them at the table. The cleaning staff then threw it away by the time we remembered and came back to the restaurant. They apologized for something that wasn’t even their fault. Then without asking they told us to wait and went to the back and cooked us 2 new whole beef ribs and even gave us 2 sides for us to take home. We were totally ok with just leaving empty handed since it was actually our fault since we forgot our to go box, but they went above and beyond to provide us the best experience. Wow

By far some of the best baby back ribs I’ve had. The sauce was sweet with just enough kick. Nice char on the meat and not too smokey. If you want great ribs on San Diego, Phil’s is the place to be

Great barbecue, the ribs were right on point. Brought my brother Inlaw from riverside and he said he loved it and he rather have this better than Lucile’sbarbecue. Great service by the way. I recommend this place.

I give you a perfect score if you could find a way to open it during the week… when there is no games… or when there is a game have your stand open outside the game too… I work downtown… and its cruel to smell your yummy food outside the game especially around lunch. Or it would be nice to have it open up downtown too… so we all can go there and eat too. Just an starving idea of an awesome place to eat! Thanks

I came down to Petco Park to watch the A’s play the Padres. I heard so much about Phil’s BBQ from my friend and how it is a must to try. Everytime I’m in the San Diego area, it seems I can’t make it out to original Phil’s. I was so glad to see it in the ballpark. There are two locations that I could find(small booth in left field next to the park and the main one on right field line near 113). I went to the main one. There is a nice place to sit, because you will need to have room and plenty of napkins to eat this. I was glad I was sitting when I ate this because it was so good that you need to be sitting. I got the El Toro sandwich with fries and macaroni salad. Their Tri Tip is very thin, chewy, packed with flavor and it tastes like soft jerky. The absolute best that I have had. The macaroni salad was very good and it went well with the fries. For ballpark food, this may be the best I have ever had after going Nationwide for sporting events. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable for what you get. If you can’t finish, you can still wrap it up in tin foil. All in all, I would say this is one of the best ballpark food I have seen for the price, seating convenience and the beyond excellent taste.

BBQ inside Petco Park, behind section 113. Good enough BBQ — I got the ribs dinner w/fries and coleslaw, and it did not disappoint, but prices are high($ 12 for 5 ribs & $ 12 for a beer — the ballpark effect). The line can be long, but it moved fast, and you get a buzzer that lights up when your food is ready for pickup around the corner. They have a large seating section, including a patio/balcony around the outside of the stadium. Very nice if not too crowded.

I was down in San Diego this weekend… so I decided to try this place out since I have been wanting to. I heard great things about this place. When you walk inside it is a bit confusing no one is greeting you so my bf and I moved on over to check the menu out. I ordered the Quarter Chicken with potato salad, and macaroni salad. My bf ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries and coleslaw on the side. We sat down after we served our drinks and we waited no more than 10 minutes for our food. The people here are very nice and helpful. The plate I ordered was soo amazing I loved the potato salad soo much and the chicken! This place is somewhere that everyone must go to! And for the price you get alot of food. The plate my bf ordered was good too it was soo much food. I will come back here again when I visit San Diego!

Best BBQ in town! Usually order the full rib dinner(to share), their portions are good, meat seriously just falls off bone. Their potato salad & French fries are probably my two favorite sides If you want to try something else, their sandwiches are also Ah-maa-ZING! Can’t get enough of this place!
