Parkloft Condominium Owners Assoication

My husband and I purchased a few months ago at Parkloft and we are thrilled! Moving is never easy, but the management team (from engineering to the front desk) made it very smooth. We have never lived in a high-​rise and were a bit apprehensive, but so far so good! The other homeowners are quiet and polite, not obtrusive at all! The front desk team is always so polite-​we love this place!

I love living here and I love the personnel who work at the front desk. They are so kind and very helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better set of neighbors, home owners association, or group of dedicated professionals that work to maintain the cleanliness and security of the building.

To correct the comments below, just about everything the reviewer, Roopa B., had to say is an absolute and utter lie. First of all, she wouldn’t know about HOA’s as she never signed a Parkloft HOA check: she was a renter for a mere two months before being asked to leave by her landlord, the Board, the HOA, every security guard here, and her neighbors. To further my point, the HOA’s are $ 600, not the gross exaggeration she claims. Secondly, the doorman in question follows the building code to the letter of the law. That being said, the building does have a rather strict entertainment policy. As she had violated said policy on multiple occasions, he was obligated to ask her friends to leave when they were too rowdy, out of line, and on one occasion even caught on camera vandalizing property in the lobby.
As a longtime tenant at Parkloft, I truly believe this is the best place in downtown San Diego. The security staff is unparalleled. The culture amongst tenants is tight knit and warm. Most tenants are small business owners in San Diego, and very prominent in the social fabric that makes San Diego such a dynamic city. As someone who has lived here much longer than the reviewer below, this is a phenomenal place to be able to call home.

900 something odd dollars in HOA fees a month. They say it’s for the concierge and that’s where the problem is. In my experience while I was living there, one particular concierge took the liberty to knock on our door as and when he wanted. My movers also had to give him money to move my furniture in because he would not cooperate (this is captured on camera btw). The concierge also is frequently missing from the front desk and is either found talking on his cell phone outside or wandering around the streets of Gaslamp instead of doing his job. This concierge is married to the head of concierge there so I am not sure if he just takes liberties because he knows there will be no consequences or if it is a training issue.
Anyway, for that kind of monthly fees I expect much more professionalism than what I experienced. There are many other much better high end condos available if you are in the market to own/​rent one in East Village.
