I recently had Pacific Plastics Decking complete a remodel of our 17 year old 2nd story wooden deck that was completely rotted out and ready to give way. Great guys, very professional and responded in a timely fashion to any of my inquiries. The contractor(Sean) they hired to complete the project was a great guy as well. We’ve already referred them to several of our neighbors and friends with decks. With a great product like this and a solid group of professionals who stands behind it, you can’t go wrong! –Carey P.

Dear Mr B., As one of the owners of Pacific Plastics Decking, I am extremely disappointed to have to hear about your bad experience with us. I have tried to reach out to you to resolve this issue and can not find any information on our end that matches what you described. All estimates and quotes are completed by either myself or one of the other partners Nick or Danny. We handle everything internally and have no outside sales or new hires since inception of the company. Again, I regret to hear about your unpleasant experience with our firm and it sounds like our product(s) would have been a great fit for your need. I would love the opportunity to resolve this issue or at the very least try to figure where we went wrong. We pride ourselves on having the best customer service in the industry and agree that in today’s economy all prospective customers need to be treated with the upmost importance. Stood up… is that the industry norm? In this economy, I would think contractors would be excited about the prospect of a nice job in a nice neighborhood, but when I gave them just a little homework, they blew me off. The product is intriguing, and as a 20-year environmentalist, I was excited about the prospect of recycled plastic that would last forever. It turns out that the structural members still need to be wood, so those could rot in time, which seems like a hassle. These guys came out to do a quote and seemed professional. I was fully intending to move forward with them, but was concerned about the longevity of the plastic product. They pointed to the owner’s deck on a lake in the Midwest, and when I asked for a little more information, I was ignored for weeks until they hired a new guy who touched base with me. Still interested and willing to give a second chance, I asked him for some more information, and I was completely blown off again. After hearing of issues with Trex, too, we eventually had a wood deck built, so these guys missed out on a nice job(with a potentially glowing review on Unilocal) for not doing what they said they would. Another slap in the face for the environmental movement. «Tin men» selling recycled plastic? The green movement is attracting everyone. If it’s smoke an mirrors you’re seeking, they may be able to help. If you want information beyond the brochure from the corporate website or any sort of follow up, good luck.
