Korean family I think. They have both sushi and Korean food. They’ve answered me in Korean when I said thank you. Awesome food, awesome prices, short wait. I usually get it to go, but came once with a friend on the weekend. She didn’t believe me that we’d be in and out in less than an hour.

Seriously the cutest little sushi place, it’s not so fancy. You pay for your sushi up front, but the inside has a nice dining area with cute lights. And is reasonably priced, and everything is very delicious. Perfect for college students looking for great sushi. The staff is also super adorable.

Friendly staff, good prices, solid, fresh food. Free parking. Limited seating, so I recommend takeout.

First time trying Oshis Kitchen & it wasn’t too bad. Not the best, but not the worst. I spent 35 bux on 3 rolls. I wouldn’t spend that much again due to them being mediocre.

One of the few Asian restaurants within walking distance from SDSU, if you are looking for either dinner or a quick bite in between classes. The family here who own and operates Oshis Kitchen are some of the most welcoming humans ever. I am always greeted with a «hello» and a smile whenever I walk in. That being said, their sushi is okay. Fish is flash frozen and the rolls are edible(think of quality as step-up from Safeway sushi). But they do serve a mean teriyaki bowl, yummy!!! If your a college student looking for some inexpensive asian food, come on by and pay Oshis Kitchen a visit.

This place is incredible and one of the best places to really get a bang for your buck. I almost always get the Chicken Katsu. I found this place my Freshmen year of SDSU and since then it’s been a regular place I eat. WAY better than any of the food you will find on campus.

One of the nastiest sushi places I’ve ever been to. Dirty place with bad sushi, drive a little farther to Osaka sushi way better quality.

I found this place in my freshman year at SDSU and I fell in love with it! I am now a senior and I still come to this place when I need a little taste of home. I order their chicken katsu almost every time because it’s my favorite food! Not to be biased or anything but I think my mom makes the best chicken katsu and since I live so far away from San Jose, Oshis kitchen is a close 2nd. The plate comes with the chicken cutlet on top of a bed of fresh steamed rice and also comes with a bean sprout salad and a regular green salad with a miso dressing. I love eating at this place and even though it’s a relatively small establishment, if you go even just a few times, the staff will definitely remember you. The first couple of times I went, every time I walked through the door, I got a warm greeting from the people who work in the kitchen, simply because they recognized my face and my order! I hope this place is here for a long time because I would never want to stop coming here.

I came here few times already and I love this place. Very close to my home, the owner is very nice sweet lady, the sushi quality is good enough for me, I definitely will keep coming back here. Kinda small place, but who cares, sushi is life, sushi is love!

Tried it for the first time today on a recommendation by a friend. Unfortunately, the prices were raised, and so it was kind of false advertisement on my friends part. I got the chicken teriyaki combo plate, which I didn’t really have high expectations for. However, it came with salad with some great sesame dressing, and a bean sprout salad that was awesome. The chicken teriyaki could have some more sauce, but was good nonetheless. They gave a huge amount of rice, and free filtered water.

I was shocked with how tiny small the sushi rolls and nigiri served to me and friends. Rude customer service was here from all 3 of the family members(Poppa, Mama, and Daughter) working and the sushi was small. Never seated us or bothered to ask us if we would like drinks on a warm summer afternoon. Overpriced sushi and and real small place that I never witness to ever get busy any time I passed by. It should have been a warning sign that they aren’t that great and the students with cars can just drive somewhere else. You had your chance Oshi and you blew it. My only question now is where is the nearest sushi spot near campus good enough to forget about Oshi’s.

Dropped off some paragliding harnesses for repair at Pablo’s Shoe Shop and noticed this place. Score! It’s a Korean shop, so be sure to ask for some kimchee :) I enjoyed spicy pork. Now I’m back eating noodles and taking some California rolls for later.

Love Oshi’s! I don’t know what it is about this small, hole-in-the-wall place but i absolutely love and crave their sushi rolls. Not only is the sushi so good, the prices are on point. I could really go for a tempura spicy tuna roll right now.

For a college area place this is in okay place. It gets the job done in the pinch, but it is not the best in the area. I had their spicy chicken, and that is what I got: spicy and chicken. It was nothing special, some siracha based sauce over chicken. It was not worth the $ 7.51 I paid for it. I guess if you are a college student in the dorms and have a hankering for some Asian food in your life, this place is the next best thing to the Panda Express on campus.

Spicy poorly, bulgogi beef and bibimbob are highly recommended. At $ 7.51 after tax, you will probably be full and happy with the food. Tempura udon is also a must try over here :) Not to forget about the rolls too. Crunch roll is always the best seller. Some of the good rolls are rainbow, Aztec, salmon and scallop. Soda is only a dollar. You can also get the korean traditional miso soup after a long tiring day.

Needing a quick meal, we came here for a sushi fix. I don’t know if it’s because I’m older now with a little more pocket change, but I was definiltely unimpressed compared to my college days. I ordered a roll of sushi and tried some on my friend’s meals. My salmon and scallop roll was not worth the outrageous $ 10 that I paid for it. Tasted like fast food sushi, had no flavor and the salmon and scallop was not that fresh. Huge dissapointment. My friend’s caterpillar roll wasn’t any better either. Totally bland and even soy sauce couldn’t save it. One bite of my BF’s unagi bowl and I was done. Loads of rice, cheap soggy veggies, and a thin layer of overcooked pre-packaged ugagi that drowned in a thick sauce. Pass. Overall, I was dissapointed as I use to like this place. I’m all for supporting little mom and pop shops, but not when the prices are high and the food is bad. I could have sworn that I could feel food poisoning creeping up on me.(Luckily, it didn’t). Overall, I won’t be back.

If you are an SDSU student that is tired of eating fast food or the food on campus, then walk a couple of blocks off campus to Oshi’s. Oshi’s is one of the places I used to eat lunch at during my college years. I visited my old stomping grounds yesterday and had some food reminiscing great college memories. There is a small parking lot in front or you can park on the street at the 1 hour parking spaces(during 8am-6pm). Oshi’s displays most of their menu on a poster from their window to where you can see pictures of each item and prices from the outside. This way, hungry customers have a sneak preview of what they can eat here. Order your food in front of the counter(either take out or sit in). You have the option to eat outside where there are a few tables and chairs you can sit in. Or they have an inside eating area that can fit approximately 28 persons. There is a big flat screen TV mounted on the wall where you can watch ESPN, travel channel, or whatever channel you would like to request(they have a remote control to change the channels). The sushi rolls are decent. I feel like some of the more common sushi rolls like spicy tuna roll, philly roll and salmon roll(for examples) are a bit over priced at $ 6.95. I have been to other sushi places where those rolls are about $ 3.50 — 5.95 each. However, I like how Oshi’s offer half orders for a cheaper price. Their specialty rolls starts around $ 8. I also enjoy the tempura udon bowl that consists of: 2 tempura shrimps, fat noodles in a beef flavored broth. I recommend this bowl during a chilly cold day or if you are sick. The udon soup will warm and fill you up nicely. The speed from ordering the food to when you receive your food is real quick. And out of courtesy, take your empty dishes to the front where there is a bin for dirty dishes. The family that runs Oshi’s is so friendly. So if you are in a rush for a quick good eat, Oshi’s will not slow you down yet provide you with good food.
