Been going to this place for over 20 years. Healthy, fast, fresh, cheap

What a great chicken with low calories. I am on my diet now, it is perfect for me. Very fresh and yummy. If you’ll try to it at once. You’re never gonna eat the other chicken, for sure!!! Enjoy here :)

You’re in and out of there in less than 2 minutes if there’s no line and you order the simple #11 to go. The chicken is amazing with just the right amount of teriyaki sauce. You can get a cup on the side if you like to. The salad is just a regular salad with a dressing of your choice, and the white rice is decent Calrose rice. Don’t expect a fancy lunch if you dine in, you’re basically sitting in a cafeteria like table setting, but the quality of the food is great! Go here at least once every other week or so.

First, I need to clarify that for the most part we love this place. My wife and I have been eating there for years. I’m practically a walking billboard for them. The reason I’m leaving a somewhat negative review(2 stars) is that last 3 times that we purchased food there, our orders haven’t been as good. We always get the number 11(Teriyaki Chicken). The last few times our number 11 orders have come with significantly less chicken, about ¼−1/3 less. We definitely notice it. Also the chicken hasn’t been as soft. Usually chicken is so soft, you can easily cut it with a fork. Not anymore. :(I really hope that it goes back to what it was before. If it doesn’t change, then my usual 5 star rating for this place would go down to a 3 at best. For me what made this place incredible was the chicken flavor and tenderness, and the value(the portion for price). Those two elements made this a home run for me, making it a 5 star rating despite the place’s short comings(such as the atmosphere). With the reduction in portion size, the chicken not being as soft. at best, I say its a decent place 3.5 star place. Please guys, stay true to your roots, amazing chicken and great prices.

Recent update and better experiences the last few times. Fried gyoza, Teri chicken, Korean short rib and bulgogi all good. The best things about this place have always been good tasting, good quality, and good price. Service is prompt and new help behind the counter is a nice improvement over visits earlier this year.

The teriyaki chicken was disgusting, I can’t imagine why it is so sought after. The cashier says it’s the most popular thing on the menu. And now I’m wondering why myth busters hasn’t busted open this myth. I wouldn’t feed this to the homeless, nor would I eat it if I were. It lacked any flavor resembling chicken, it hardly even looked like chicken, I don’t even know what kind of bones I found in it. Very unappetizing. Stick to your first instinct, and walk away from this shady place, because their food is just as shady.

Stumbled upon this jem… unassuming place next door to a barber shop… but the delicious burning smell of fire roasted chicken brings back my childhood love of chicken! This place has hands down the best roasted, juiciest, chicken in their classic home made teriyaki sauce(doesn’t taste like the typical soy sauce with sugar). White rice perfectly pairs with it. And you can’t beat that price $ 7 bucks for a happy tummy! We shared a plate right before our Torrey Pines Hike, just the ample amount of fuel the body needs!

How this place got four stars amazes me. Not only is it dirty and full of flies, bathroom access is literally walking through the kitchen and the food is nothing special. Mac salad was ok, chicken was greasy and flavorless, not wood fired but cooked on a flat top, I witnessed this while heading to the restroom. Ribs were gross tasted like something from old town buffet and teriyaki was way to salty. Cant believe this place is still open, don’t make my mistake and eat here.

I found the food good but the place is disgustingly dirty. They give hearty portions and their teriyaki sauce is yummy. They seem to be fairly priced for what you get. The problem here is that the place is really really dirty. The décor is next to nothing so it wouldn’t be hard to clean. When I sat down outside, because there is no air conditioning, I stuck to the chair. I lifted my arm to find brown gunk on it and the table was riddled with food and dirt. If they gave it a good cleaning it wouldn’t be so bad. It does concern me about the back kitchen area. If the front is so horrible, how is the back where they prepare our food?

The food is good but the place is kinda sketch. I like the food they make but the place is run down. If they deep cleaned the place then they would be in great shape. Again, the food is good but I’m in. I hurry to run back.

I LOVE this place! So much food for your money and it’s so good and natural with very few ingredients. Their macaroni salad is killer because it’s not loaded with mayo and extras and its peppered. The rice was moist with just a dash of salt, it was the perfect side for the juicy chicken. Seriously can’t wait to go back when I’m in the area!

I came here a few weeks ago and ordered the half chicken plate with white rice and tortillas. Honestly, the chicken was oily. It wasn’t the worst but I was surprised how greasy tasting it was. The rice was a clumpy ball and super sticky. Like the kind of rice your mom might make when she’s in a bad mood. I most likely will never come here again because nothing I ordered tasted remotely healthy.

A no-frills approach to roast chicken, most people go here for their #11 chicken teriyaki special. I can see why people would call it «bland» or «nothing special.» I can’t say that their meat it ridiculously moist or infused with flavor. Most of the flavor comes with the teriyaki glaze that they drizzle on top of your chopped up chicken meat. Their BBQ beef ribs boosts their rating +1 star. Being that NSC is seemingly Korean-owned, their kalbi and bulgogi are decent enough to mention.

Get the #11. Those who know, know. The thing is you have to show at the right time for the chicken. Too late and your left with the scraps. You’ll be eating that anyway going big on the tasty teriyaki. So, moist chicken chunks covered in ‘yaki with rice and a salad is the deal. Not everyone’s fave been but I’ve been going 20 years so it’s steady in my PL diet. Plus there’s sweet man candy flexing in some frames. Enjoyable experience always.

Good chicken and korean style bbq. The salad is fresh the chicken soup is fantastic. Sometimes slow, but generally a satisfying well priced lunch. Sometimes heavy in the teriyaki sauce so I get that on the side.

This place was good! we went on a hot day, and it was kind of warm inside, but they have tables outside, so we sat there on a lovely point loma evening. The service is quick. You get a good amount of food for the price. It’s not gourmet or anything, but it’s tasty! good little place for some rice, chicken, and salad!

I was really hoping that this place was going to be a good spot to go to that was unique with a variety of choices, but there’s really nothing special about slapping a piece of Vons Rotisserie on a plate and adding white rice along with your choice of a simple side. For what the place is, it’s OK. The evening I came in with my hub and friend, we were starving and ready to eat. I ordered their #10 ¼ Chicken, 1 Rib Combo meal, but had to choose something else after the person taking our order said they ran out of ribs bummer. Since that was the case, I opted for their #7 ¼ Chicken w/a side order of Potato Salad, half a corn and 2 tortillas. My hub ordered their #8 Half Chicken w/the same sides and our friend ordered their #12 Beef Teriyaki Combo Special. All our orders were made to go even though we all didn’t specify that. Once we all mowed down and finished our foods, we all said the same thing… «There’s nothing really special about what I just ate». Yes, their meats are tender and juicy which is how it should be. It did remind me of El Pollo Loco. I do wish that their chicken came with their own unique sauce just to add a little umph to it besides your typical teriyaki sauce that you’d have to pay extra for. The location can also be confusing. Once we originally found this spot, it looked closed. I’m not sure if they are setting up to open up in a bigger space or if that was their older location, but just a few doors down on the corner is their actual establishment which is a lot smaller than what I was expecting. If you’re looking for all natural rotisserie chicken, or perhaps craving some Korean beef or chicken teriyaki with a few extra sides, then definitely stop by and try this place out! You may end up liking it!

I have been coming here for more than 10 years… YIKES! I used to work real close to here so it was a regular lunch spot and I have to admit I havent been in over a year. But with my recent visit comes a pleasent surprise. CONSISTENCY! No matter how long it has been I get exactly what I am expecting from the #11. Chicken teryaki with rice and salad. The price is right for a quick hot meal and satisfies that craving for teryaki! It’s not a fancy establishment so if you want craft beer and a flat screen tv head else where. I like to get take out and enjoy the meal at home. Enjoy!
