I haven’t ever written a one star review. But my experience here makes me want to warn other potential customers. I brought in my daughters instrument for service on a Thursday afternoon. I was guaranteed that it would be finished by Saturday. On Sunday I called, because I hadn’t heard anything. It wasn’t finished and the guy who was going to work on it wouldn’t be in until Tuesday. I had to drive there to pick it up, since we needed it for her class on Monday morning. And now we have to find another, more reliable shop to fix it for her. Super disappointing. Not only did it not get finished in the time quoted, but no one even bothered to call me to let me know. And when I was talking to the gal who works there on the phone, I asked if they could give us a loaner instrument until it was done. She told me to call the Clairemont store to see if they had one. I asked her to call for me, since it was there mistake and she told me she was too busy. Nice customer service. When I went to speak to my daughters teacher about this, he told me that he never recommends Music Central to any of his students because of their reputation for lousy, slow service. I wish I would have spoken to him first before wasting my time and gas.

Billy Wear is a great teacher. He taught both of my kids to play and they’re still at it. His patience and instruction were 2nd to none and I would highly recommend him to ANYONE thinking of drum lessons in the San Diego area. Billy Rox!

Unfortunately they don’t have what I need. And their selection is just rather sad. Their Clairemont Mesa location will NEVER see me shopping there again. They failed to put my credit card in for an instrument rental, so they were calling me constantly to get me to come down to put it in, and told me I would face late charges… no thanks.

Stopped in here to buy a Secret Santa gift. Told them my budget, and they put together a nice grab bag. Mostly acoustic guitars, accessories and tablature. Laid back scene. Good service.

Hmmm. Too quite and I mean this in a bad way. As soon as you walk in… It seems like no one is even there. Then the guy that said HI was like forced to say a two letter word. Oh, I’m sorry. Are we bothering you? There are signs on the wall discouraging shoppers from playing the guitars. Really?!? I don’t get it? I get that this store is a smaller business but common dude… Is a music store. Play some music.

Amazing service! In and out within five minutes! My violin needed to be restrung and the bridge needed to be fixed as well… free of charge! Seem like they have a specialist for each instrument, so everyone may not be of help to you. They had a nice small variety of instruments for sale, music books and all things music! Good stop for your basic instrument needs pretty much. While they are repairing your instrument, you can shop at Target or grab a snack at Bobalicious! They do offer music lessons as well. I believe its somewhere around $ 110 for four classes(monthly payments).

I stopped in here right at closing time and they held the store open for us! Thank You for that! We rented a clarinet for my daughter. The sales clerk was friendly, helpful, and happy to help! I would recommend shopping here to everyone!

These guys strung my guitar strings incorrectly, and took them two days. They managed to get a few bridge pins stuck when I decided to change it a few months down the line and surprise! They installed the strings with the ball end of the string stuck deep in the bridge pin(wtf rookie mistake is this, are they even musicians?). This is the last of what I expect when I support smaller businesses when I already know how to do it.

I had to pick up some sticks for a drummer that I play with and found some really decent bargains at $ 5 pair.

I had my guitar re-strung here. They were really nice and were able to finish it while I shopped at Target.
