Super cute hole in the wall burger joint! Stopped in here for their tacos, burgers and brews. Very inexpensive, their outside patio is very cute and cozy and the staff is super friendly and inviting! :)

This place has great fun atmosphere with friendly workers ! Seems like they have a lot of regulars. My bartender was Jessica she was funny and witty ! Knows her drinks and even helped me make a delicious salad for lunch. Playing sports on all the tvs and they have daily specials. The owner heather was around I got to chat with her. She was awesome as well.

Located on Friars Road out looking the River Walk Golf Course. I took a trip to Mr. Peabody’s for lunch. Parking here isn’t too bad. They have a small parking area but if it’s full. There is plenty of parking on Via Las Cumbres. The place itself reminded me of a pub. There is a wooden bar centrally located with bar stools all around it as well as wooden booths aligning the walls. The atmosphere is very casual. Beer on tap as well as bottled beers. Serving breakfast and lunch items. I had the onion soup and the Mr. Peabody burger. The onion soup was amazing. Great onion flavor with seasoned croutons and melted Swiss. I want that again. The burger itself was tasty. Very simple ingredients. Toasted bun, fresh lettuce, onion, tomato and last but not least a quality meat patty. I didn’t talk during bites. Just chewed and enjoyed the flavor. Very good burgers. The service was enjoyable. The price to eat was inexpensive. $ 40 for three people including drinks. Food was fantastic. Mr. Peabody, I salute you sir. The place is a winner.

I love this bar. Come eat turkey tacos and drink cold beer. I’ve literally never had a bad experience here. Good prices and friendly bar tenders guaranteed.

Food was mediocre, coffee was too dam strong, and service was horrible. The 2girls working did not provide good customer service.

My boyfriend and I love this place! Their burgers and carne asada fries are amazing, and they have THE best Bloody Mary in all of San Diego(coming from someone who’s quite picky). The servers are all friendly and they allow dogs on the patio. Prices are quite responsible and quality are top notch. I really don’t understand the few negative reviews. Are these people expecting A 5 star restaurant from a strip mall burger joint? Be realistic. For what this place is(a Cheers bar), it’s the best!

Had a burger, beer, and fries. Damn good burger with a nice thick patty, good service, and the atmosphere has a homey truck stop kinda feel to it. Nice crispy shoestring fries too, plus they have that really good Beaver sweet hot mustard. 8⁄10 would totally come dive here again

Fish taco Tuesday and House Salad Thursday(I add bacon for a dollar) specials are excellent. Employees are friendly and helpful. I eat here all the time for lunch. If I hadn’t gone here first with a friend I probably wouldn’t have stayed because it looks like a bar. But, food is outstanding. I’ve turned at least 10 people onto this place and everyone loves it.

While kayaking in La Jolla we asked a local where to get the best Carne Asada Fries. Mr. Peabody’s did not disappoint! The addition of the jalapenos was perfecto. Fresh grilled jalapenos, not the pickled jar kind. Service was awesome. Would definitely come back here for more fries!

Best shrimp tacos and turkey tacos! Everything is pretty much delicious! I love how the owner is there pretty much everyday as well. Small place but worth going to there’s usually never a wait and you can seat yourself. Highly recommend!

Waitress was very on spot and nice. Refills right off the bat and nice conversations. Food was good. Their fish and chips was good. Not greasy at all and with a crisp crunch to it. Be warned, you may get more food than you can finish, but it’s all worth it. The atmosphere feels like a rustic dinner. On the outside I was expecting a dive bar kind of feel, but when i was eating it felt more like a dinner I’d find in the woods. Very nice.

I’ve only had tacos here but they’re definitely 5 star. Ladies at the bar are always welcoming, as I usually get my tacos to go. They have a great beer selection though. I’ve had their famous turkey tacos which never disappoint and are HUGE! And filling. Two tacos(mix and match) for $ 8.99. I had the shrimp today and boy are they yummy. Nice amount of shrimp in the tacos with delicious sauce. Try it out!

This is an odd place. It’s like it wants to be a diner… but also a place to drink. It did the former okay, but not so much the latter. There are TVs off to either side, which isn’t great for watching sports. I certainly wouldn’t come here for a game. Beer selection is decent and prices for that seem fine. I had a beef burger and I must say it was good. However, the extra $ 3.50 for about seven so-so quality, medium sized onion rings rubbed me the wrong way. Service was friendly. But would I return? Probably not unless someone really convinced me. Nothing stood out.

I’ve come here several times before and was in the area so I decided to stop by for a great burger. I wasn’t disappointed. They are located close to the freeway so very easy access. Parking can sometimes be a challenge as the lot is small and there are several other businesses. The restaurant and booth seating or you can sit up at the bar and order a full menu. I decided to sit up at the bar and the servers are very friendly. To drink I had an iced tea and unfortunately it was instant. I don’t understand why places don’t brew their tea. To eat I ordered the beef burger with a side of onion rings. They are pretty fast and the burger was so freshly cooked! The onion rings came in a separate basket and unfortunately were way over cooked. There wasn’t much flavor as they were fried way too long. More disappointing since I was sitting at the bar, I saw the prepare other orders of onion rings and they weren’t cooked half as much as mine. Mine were a dark brown whereas the other orders seemed to be a nice golden color. The burger however was great! They do cook one of the best burgers in San Diego. I had mine with cheddar cheese. The lettuce, onion, pickle and tomato come on the side so you can dress it anyway you want. Also you can put your own mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup on as much or little as you want. Basically the burger comes clean and you can dress it however you want. Careful when you bite into the burger because they come hot and fresh. It’s hard to savor the burger because it’s so good you’ll eat it in just minutes. Overall, great place. I know I could have said something about the burned up onion rings and I wish they would serve fresh brewed iced tea, but I’ll be back for the burgers. They are incredible and again, one of the best in San Diego.

So, friends have described this place as a dive bar lol… We weren’t prepared for the lively, jovial, happy crew inside, from the wait staff to the cooks, to the diners! This place mooooovvvveeeeessss! And I LIKE the way it moves. I’m not a drinker, but I was tempted to ask the bartender for a Moscow Mule lol. The jukebox was swingin’, music playin, people at the wrap-around bar literally SINGING!!! What a bunch of fun people! I had a cheeseburger. I wasn’t that hungry, and my friend ordered a turkey burger and a side of onion rings. Both burgers had a nice char on them, the onion rings were crisp and seasoned well, and though I didn’t taste the turkey burger, my dinner companion said she loved that it was well flavored, and yummy. Next time I’ll try the turkey burger. It looked good. :P UPDATE: 4÷26÷15 — had to have another of those great burgers tonight, but didn’t really feel like being out tonight. So naturally, we knew Peabody’s would be open ;) I really, really, really wanted to try the Carne Asada Fries, but opted tonight for the Cheezy Fries. They were the best cheesy fries ever. Crispy fries on the outside, and soft inside, slathered with melted cheese. They were awesome!

4.5 stars! This is a local secret fav! A person doesn’t exactly come from Maryland to enjoy Mr. Peabody’s, but heck, if you are in town, come on in! The best all around Turkey Burgers!(I seem to have a hard time finding them these days!) Awesome selection of beers, friendly staff and well, it’s just worth the drive from Poway! P. S. The onion rings are ORGASMIC! Shhhhh! P. P. S. Parking can be a bit tight. Be prepared to park on street if necessary.
