In my attempt to try all the offerings at the Sorrento Valley food court, I decided to try Moose’s. It was on my mind whenever I went there after work, but by that time they’re closed(guess Moose’s is only open for the lunch rush). Fortunately, I had the day off, so here I went! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak sandwich; to be honest, it wasn’t that bad. I was expecting it to be spicy, but the sauce was mild at best — even with the jalapeño peppers in the sandwich. I did like the consistency of the roll — chewy, with a warm crust — and the steak fries were pretty good, with not too much salt. And, my order came with a free dill pickle spear… can’t go wrong with that! There’s plenty of offerings here on the menu that I would like to try(especially the classic Philly cheesesteak), so I look forward to future visits to Moose’s — even if the food court gets crowded at lunch.

Moose’s has the worst chicken rice bowl in the world. This is literally chicken that they just stripped off of a leg or thigh, complete with cartilage, skin, and a few errant bits of bone. Our hero had to go to McDonald’s after eating it to get the taste out of his mouth with a sundae from the dollar menu. Yes, THAT bad. To add further insult to a simple lunch, half the rice was hard and tough to eat. This was actually not that surprising in hindsight. I mean… our hero ordered a RICEBOWL from a BBQ joint called«Moose’s». Sometimes the brain just doesn’t function well when hungry. PROS: — It’s fairly cheap for a large meal and the prices are lower for their rice bowls than other neighboring businesses. CONS: — Way too much BBQ sauces on all their meats. — Rice bowl is 10% as good as the competitors just steps away in the same mall such as Chicks Natural and Flame Broiler… and even those aren’t fantastic. Straight up, this is one gross rice bowl.
