Clean and quiet place. Coffee place that you can also get breakfast. They have selections from bagels to waffles. They also serve sandwiches for lunch. A good place to get comfortable and mingle with friends for coffees

I just discovered this place. It is awesome. A wonderful place to work, meet up with friends etc. The cold brew coffee is the best

Big space. Not many people there so it’s a perfect study/date place. Lots of outlets. Coffee was decent. Would have loved some latte art. A little cold inside so definitely wear a jacket if you’re going.

Cute place, might have missed it, if not for the Unilocal reviews. I can’t say this place made me feel like they REALLYKNEW coffee, but I can say that it’s a great alternative to the Messhugah Shack across the street if you want a place to sit indoors. One of the gals seemed more interested in catching up with her friend, than servicing the customers, but it was a quiet day, so I’ll give her a break. Their sandwich was pretty good and they had a variety of seating options. Try it out. Like I said, it’s cute.

I was going to get a simple latte until i saw the monin flavors and was slightly embarrassed to ask what monin flavors are… you can add them to pretty much any mocha, latte or Italian soda. The lavender stood out so the barista was super helpful and recommended it with a white mocha. My friend got the same but as an iced coffee. I personally preferred the hot mocha because it wasn’t too sweet and had a lavender hint at the end. The iced was good too but you really are hit with floral flavor instantly and I don’t think I could finish a whole drink. Really cute atmosphere both on the outdoor patio, where we hung out since we had a dog with us, or inside with a cozy couch and a high ceiling which makes the place feel really spacious. If I lived closer, it’s definitely a great study or read-a-book-on-a-weekend-afternoon kinda place with lots of other restaurants in walking distance.

I would have given it 4.5 stars if that was an option. Pros: Outlets everywhere!!! Truly, every table has an outlet, inside and out! Okay, this is repeat from above but worth mentioning on its own: they have outdoor patio outlets… lots of them! Location, location, location Quiet(though I went on a Wednesday and I’m sure once people learn this place exists it’ll pick up) Prices! You can get a bagel with cream cheese for $ 2.45. This alone will bring me back! Drinks + food menu Cons: The ambiance isn’t anything special. It’s clean and more like a Starbucks than a cute little neighborhood coffee shop(though they do have a few love seats and the chairs are pretty comfy) They are only open until 6pm

I came into the Mission Hills Coffee company looking for some coffee for the road, because I never get enough coffee. Directly next to the Huddle off Goldfinch, this fancy little coffee place has plenty of seating inside and outside to enjoy your coffee and maybe catch up on some laptop time with their free wifi. This place sells all your basic coffee drinks, smoothie drinks, tea along with a small selection of breakfast items and lunch items( ). They also have fruit, pastries, chips and other little snacks. According to the person at the register, they do use locally roasted coffee and sell their own blends of coffee up front( ) for home. The place seems very well organized and all the employees were very friendly and outgoing. The entire place was really clean and all the seating looked very comfortable to just sit down and relax( ). I ordered a cold brew to-go for my trip out to the beach. The cold brew here is really good, not too watered down with just plenty of caffeine and flavor to keep you going. I didn’t try any food items, but all their pastries looked pretty damn good. I’d definitely come back to try more coffee here and perhaps something else.

I guess the positives. The space is bigger than any other shop in the area and they have a lot of outlets, beyond that, it was like stepping into a 1990’s time warp. I think of Central Perk from Friends with lots of browns and some couches. I do like the little patio area though. Just not a fan of massive IKEA shelving and sofas, but that’s just me. They also serve flatbread pizzas and massive bagels with egg and meats… seriously 90’s I find myself in the area on the weekends, so I was here on Saturdays and Sundays over the past few months. Each time I found it odd, how it was kind of dead on a weekend morning, while other shops in the area were rammed. Always a bad sign… Again, at least 3 visits ordering an espresso and cappuccino. Service 2⁄5 I got a nice hello when I walked in. I asked about the coffee and either: –It is a policy to not discuss it –They Don’t know –Or the roaster is ashamed to be associated. Whatever it was, they would not tell me and the response was«We are not at liberty to discuss it.» Shouldn’t a shop be proud of what they serve? I also asked«What kind of beans are you pulling?» At least I got an answer…“It’s Dark Roasted”…great, thank you for telling me. Coffee 1⁄5 Not one redeeming thing. The coffee tasted extremely over roasted, over extracted and sour. My espresso was a bitter pill. I couldn’t finish it. I chalked it up to them being new and dialing things in, but a few months in, it’s clear that they haven’t a clue what they are doing. You always expect a shop to improve things after a month or so and get more consistent, but whoa! After being in just a few days ago, it is still off. Strong coffee does not always equate to good coffee and they need to figure it out. Whomever their roaster is would be bummed to see their coffee served this way, or, maybe the roaster doesn’t care. My cappuccino was a sour/ashy espresso milk mush that you would get a crappy airport coffee shop. I just cannot stand when coffee is treated like this. People work to pick the crop for a whole season to have it served like this? It’s a shame. In the end this is a 90’s style shop that seems to be a dying breed. As people continue to care about where food is sourced from, places like this seem to get left behind in some sort of limbo. If you’re looking for a place to plug in and tune out and this place is for you, but if you’re looking for genuine good coffee, there are other places in the neighborhood and beyond that are much better. The staff seems nice enough, but all the space in the world can’t hide the terrible coffee.

There are a lot of coffee companies in the area. What sets this one apart from the others is its terrific atmosphere. They have a lovely interior that is a big cut above the sparse and/or grundgy ambience of a lot of other local shops(not to mention the plastic lawn share parking lot ambience of Meshuga Shack across the street, which we all know and love). The place is nice — nice enough to bring a business colleague to. And then there’s a sweet little patio out front where you can watch you car to make sure it isn’t ticketed or towed in the 30 minute parking outside. I’m not trying to be cynical here; these are two valid reasons to love this place. The staff is lovely and coffee was good.

As I sit here sipping on a cappuccino I marvel at how the interior of this coffee house is built. It feels like I am in a modern model home of sorts. Oak floors, marble counter tops, very spacious. It’s relaxing sitting here in a nice and clean coffee house. I’d probably feel guilty if I dropped a crumb somewhere or left a coffee ring on the table. I ordered a simple cappuccino and a blue berry muffin. Both got the fix done. Came out close to $ 7. So it’s on par with a Starbucks. This is a great place to hang out at as long as your metered pay doesn’t run out on the street(which is why I came on a Sunday). The service from the 2 baristas working was friendly. Definitely returning at some point. Mission Hills has some great coffee spots on par with North Park IMO.

Delicious coffee! Came in for an afternoon pick me up and was very pleased! This time I tried just a small house coffee, it was strong but not bitter, which was great! They also have a variety of flat bread pizzas and pastries, I plan on trying one of these next time. Beautiful décor and friendly staff– I’m happy to have found this place and will be back soon!

This place is really cool! I love the spacious indoor dining area. The couch and chairs are comfy. It gets moderately busy during the early afternoon. Coffee is great and the cheesecake was lovely. Definitely a wonderful local coffee shop!

Cruising around Mission Hills’ quaint neighborhood shops, I stopped in to Mission Hills Coffee Company. It is across from the Patio, on the east side of Goldfinch. This location has finally been transformed into a cozy, modern and very comfortable coffee shop. Leather cushie large couches, and leather topped on every chair makes you want to open your laptop and sit for hours. Great customer service, selection of muffins… croissants and a lot more are in addition to their coffee selection. This would be a perfect place to have a business meeting without the crammed seating of the chain coffee shops. I’m waiting for my truck to get new rotors;(… so now I know where I’ll be visiting each time my mechanic is working on my car! A bit of history– the Mission Hills Coffee Shop is located where once(25yrs ago) a Mission Hills popular spot once operated called the Gathering. The Gathering was well known to locals for their friendly full bar, glasses clinking with drink while the owner– who was dressed like a Vegas card dealer would do card tricks. His most notable skill was being able to flick a card all the way up to the ceiling, where it would stick! The walls echo with those memories of an older gathering place in Mission Hills. Also, another memory of this areas history is, «The Perfect Pan», a cute little shop where the salon, «Tops», now sits. Opened and operated by the very unique Lithuanian couple, George and Piret Munger. You could purchase the most beautiful copper, and stone, and other cook and bakeware. Later, if you are a true local and nearing 50,(ahemm)…you’ll remember that the Gathering moved to the corner of Washington and Goldfinch where Harley Grey’s sits now. Now, for more history than I thought I’d write about — thanks to the Mission Hills Coffee Co’s full petroleum coffee. … the Historic and wonderful, «PIRET’S» was a true treasure and operated for many years @ this same location on the corner. Does anyone even remember the nouvelle French cuisine of Piret’s?! I worked for the Mungers in that kitchen and loved it! Someone please bring back the«Salad Verte»! This review is a testament to the quality of the coffee here– More points about MisHills Coffee; –the music and lighting are just right. It is a very convenient and welcoming coffee lounge that is sure to become a favorite in the area for a very long time. [I just think it would be great if they would glue just one Ace playing card to the ceiling– the locals would get it, and the newer residences would ask about it] Cheers!

This is a very nice new coffee shop located in the heart of Mission Hills. I stopped in on an early Saturday morning and ordered a house drip coffee and a breakfast sandwich served on toasted ciabatta bread served with eggs, bacon, and cheese. The ciabatta had a nice toast on it, which resulted in a good crunch, but it would of been nice if they would of added some sort of spread on the bread, because it was a little dry. The eggs were good, and so was the bacon they put in the sandwich. It was good meaty bacon. The cheese was semi melted and was good. Overall, it was a tasty breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. It would be nice if they would serve the sandwich with a mini bowl of fruit to brighten up the presentation and for the tasty fruit. The coffee was very good, a medium roast I believe, but for a drip coffee, I wish they would not charge $ 1 for a refill. The place offers plenty of seating inside and outside. They offer Wi-Fi and plenty of plug in for electronic charging.

Adorable, shaded outdoor patio with SOMANYOUTLETS! I always feel bad when I’m inside at a coffee shop on a beautiful San Diego day — now I can sit outside and work, guilt-free. This place has a cute outdoor patio with several tables and at least 10 outlets(no joke). No glare on my screen because it’s shaded! I guess it literally just opened today — I had the pesto flatbread(6.00) and a small iced chai tea. Both were good. It’s nice to find a clean, quiet, adorable(succulents) coffee shop with an outdoor option and wifi. I love the communal atmosphere of coffee places, but a lot of them feel like I’m walking into a hippie camp in the woods that hasn’t wiped off a table since the beginning of the week. That’s not this place. Minimalist, airy design with lots of space and high ceilings. It just feels relaxing. Oh, and dog friendly patio! …and easy parking!
