Lydia M Torres, OD

Dr. Torres is a first-​rate optometrist educated at University of California, Berkeley, and Northeastern State University College of Optometry in Oklahoma. She practices at Sharp Rees-​Stealy Medical Group’s Ophthalmology facilities in Sorrento Valley and downtown San Diego.
Raised in San Diego, Dr. Torres speaks English and Spanish, and she’s gentle, friendly, smart and willing to listen to her patients. She is also, for lack of a better term, «cool,» by which I mean she is down-​to-​earth and able to relate technical information in an easy manner, which makes the things she does for a living less onerous for the people to whom she does them.
Her practice, being part of the Sharp Rees-​Stealy Medical Group, is modern and well-​equipped. As a bonus, her office sells the largest assortment of wide-​sized frames I’ve found in the area. To those, like me, with pumpkin heads, big frames are no small thing, and so I’m willing to drive a half-​hour to Dr. Torres’ office.
