Decent, not mind blowing. Always has a funky smell but what do you expect for mall sushi.

Oh my! I should of done a review while the place was still open. Oh well, i owe to them to let them know that place was awesome! Took my best friend here for her birthday dinner and she was so surprised when they sang her happy birthday. Best birthday greeting by far and food was delicious!

A small chain of sushi restaurants that serves pretty good sushi. Nothing spectacular but its tasty and pretty fresh. Service is pretty good. A nice atmosphere to get out, enjoy some sushi, and if your in the mall, people watch or do some major shopping.

Probably one of my favorite sushi spots. Great ambience, food and service. Tiny little spot behind Louis Vuitton and Burberry. I go here often to indulge on their Tataki Salads. This is my favorite place when I’m on a diet, and needing something more satisfying than a chicken salad. Lol. I usually order the Tuna Tataki and Albacore Tataki Salad. They are definitely not shady when it comes to the size of the salads. Flavorful, filling and satisfying. You will definitely leave happy!

My mom and I came here for the 50% happy hour. We’re touring from Chicago, and the restaurant is conveniently near the Hotel Circle. The waiter wasn’t pushy and let us order in our own time. We ordered two appetizers, special rolls, and a house roll. The food was fresh and yummy. When we got the check we were astounded at how inexpensive the food was –$ 25! I would come here again.

Boyfriend and I came here mostly out of convenience(we were going to AMC after) and it was AIGHT. We were seated quickly at 6pm-ish on a Friday, and the restaurant was about 70% full. Allow me to tangent while I remember: If you have a screaming baby in a restaurant, can you please take it outside? We were seranaded by a screaming baby for like half an hour. On one hand, I feel bad for the parents. On the other… the door isn’t that far. Boyfriend was more patient than I was with this. What a great guy, huh. I don’t understand why there are so many complaints about the service. Maybe we just got lucky or something? We were greeted by a couple people and were given our waters quickly, and even had the menu explained to us(not needed, but appreciated nonetheless since it was our first time here). Our server was quite friendly and attentive, and our rolls came quickly, as did the edamame. It wasn’t the BEST sushi ever, but was enjoyable for sure! I have no issues here. Good portion size, too. Woohoo. To the person who gave 1 star for getting the check without asking: Am I blind due to my white privilege of not understanding how that’s racist? We got ours without asking, too, which I appreciated a ton as someone who is supremely impatient. Not the hot sushi spot in the city, but absolutely not a bad option while at fashion valley. Also, seems to be a good spot for groups!

Came here after Comicon since the we took the trolley from the Fashion Valley station. Tucked on the opposite end of the mall’s café, this place can be a little hard to find. I been meaning to try this place for a while and was finally excited for a good lunch after walking around downtown in the heat. Restaurant/service — the décor was nicely modern. There were open tables, booth seats and the sushi bar in the back. They seated my friend and I relatively quickly but then we were forgotten? We did not have a waiter/waitress greet us for the next 20 mins or so. Perhaps it was because the other half of our party was not there yet but still, that is no excuse for not asking us for drinks. When a waiter finally noticed us, he asked us «did anyone take your order yet?» while all of us still had our menus open! Bad service. We confirmed that the service had been pretty bad that day because some other people who sat down were given menus and ignored as well. Some even left! I don’t know if this is a regular occurrence but this isn’t a good business model. It wasn’t even busy! Food — I ordered the lunch special with sushi, Hibachi steak, rice and salad. Overall the food is okay. The steak wasn’t as tender as I had hoped but still good with the stir-fried veggies underneath. The three pieces of sushi, salmon, tuna and yellowtail tasted pretty fresh and a good contrast to the Hibachi steak. Definitely a pretty fulfilling lunch but did not knock my socks off or anything. In the end, the food here is decent but the service could definitely use some work. I didn’t find anything the one thing that would have me return to this place though.

Service was nice-but due to the weekend dinner crowd, extremely slow and inattentive. Understaffed and unorganized. The food is consistent though, which was the only highlight of the experience tonight. Edamame here may be free, but don’t let that sway your decision to come here since the quality is very low.

Been here twice, but the experience was a bit lackluster both times. Tucked away on the north side of Fashion Valley Mall, you’re less likely to run into the hustle and bustle of weekend shoppers in the summer or holidays. I came here for lunch and had the hibachi steak entrée. This came with a small serving of meat, and a lot of vegetables and was quite oily. Good new sis that you can double up on salad if you’re cutting back on rice at no additional charge(some places do charge for this). Complimentary edamame seems to be the norm, so that was nice, as you can ask for refills on that. On a previous visit for a friend’s birthday, the sushi was average as well, but the chefs do join in on sake bombs, which is funny. The menu for specialty roles is quite extensive. I prefer the traditional sushi(nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls), which makes me miss Japan even more now. The pricing and ambiance is on par with other Japanese restaurants catering to sushi fiends, but the food itself isn’t memorable. Service was nice and our orders came out quickly, although both times the restaurant was less than half full. If you’re tired of the food court, definitely check it out if you’re craving sushi but don’t want to move your car.

The sushi was very average, if not below. They use to have a lunch special that offered a roll, soup, salad, chicken and rice for a little over 12 dollars but they discontinued it. I went here about a week ago and got a few things. First off was the shrimp crunchy roll, which despite its name was a bit soggy. I also tried an assortment of sushi which were all extremely fishy(yes, I know it’s fish). Almost all the fish I had was unpleasant in taste and texture, and I usually love raw fish. The best thing i had was the calamari. It was crispy and delicious! The sauce that came with it was also delightful. I don’t think I’ll return here unless I’m really craving sushi while shopping around.

Yes yes and more yes. Sushi is awesome and they have some unique items to pick from. Located at the fashion valley mall. Good place to go after some heavy shopping with the significant other. Valet is also next to the place and pretty convenient

Pros: convenient located in fashion valley mall. Great customer service and efficient service. Complimentary edamame non salted. Huge food portions. Interior of restaurant clean and cutely designed. Cons: thick cut sashimi in lunch combo(I prefer my sashimi cut on thinner side), not enough rice for sushi Unagi and Aji, way too much broth in vegetable udon(cute idea with use of boat dish though). Not the most memorable but not bad either: mixed tempura. Shrimp on skinny side with lots of breading. The cabbage salad(?) in the combo plates had a refreshing feel but needed an asian dressing that would kick it up a notch or two. The agedashi tofu was on the sweeter side — I never had it flavored that way — I didn’t mind it and overall taste was not bad.

I had brought my family here while they were in town for my graduation. I was really disappointed at the service I received while dining here. The restaurant was quite busy. We asked for a table for 5 and were asked to wait until a table opened. One of the lady’s working told me she would guide me to my table. I sat down at the half booth half chair table. While being seated the lady said, «Actually, would you prefer sitting at a table we have ready right over here?» I told her I was comfortable where I was seated and that my mother would enjoy the booth. She said, «I need you to move to another table. I actually need to save this table for a party coming in». I was extremely annoyed that she asked me a question, but then didn’t give me a choice. The manager came over, asked if there was a problem and then said, «here, lets just tag a seat to the end of the table to make it for 5»… as he sat us at the table I was not wanting to sit at. In addition, they forgot one of our orders and we had to ask them twice to bring water. We didn’t end up getting the water until after our food was served along with the sauces I asked for at the beginning when I asked for water the first time. I am extremely disappointed and will not be returning here.

Tried this place recently with a group of friends. Our party of 9 was much bigger than they had tables for, but they easily accommodated us by combining several tables. Love Boat Sushi has a wide variety of rolls, but many of them have tempura or fake«crab». I’m not really a fan of tempura in my sushi, so I finally decided on the Mango Mango roll — and loved it! White tuna, salmon and avocado inside, topped with mango slices. I wasn’t sure if the mango would be sweet — I’ve eaten too many dishes and desserts with unripe mango in them — so I was pleased to find that the mango was ripe enough to be sweet and soft. The sweetness contrasted well with the fish. Really glad I chose this roll! Also tried the Marine Boy, which was disappointing. The spicy tuna was warm and barely spicy. The W.A. Was quite good though, even though it was a very simple roll with just real crab and salmon.(Yes, they specified REAL crab for this roll, meaning all the other rolls had fake crab.) Most of my friends got the dinner bento boxes, which most of them didn’t seem very pleased with. I didn’t try any myself, but it didn’t look particularly appetizing or worth the price. I was happy with my choice, but it seems the other items aren’t as good? Probably wouldn’t come here just for the food, but if you’ve just finished a long day of shopping at Fashion Valley and don’t want to drive farther for dinner, Love Boat Sushi may be an option to consider.

I should have done this review a long time ago. Thanks to Andy’s exceptional service last night, I felt it’s the right timing to do so. Loveboat is located around the corner of the LV store, next to Stacked, and right across the mall’s valet parking. It is quite a small place but well kept. They offer complimentary edemame to start you off with. Their sushi rolls are very good and the prices are very reasonable. Lobster roll, Crunchy roll, Red dragon, Tiger, Dragon, Dynamite, Heart attack, Playboy, Marineboy & Mango mango are the ones that I’ve tried so far and they all have good quality taste. Their calamari is not the ordinary crisy type. It is somewhat weird I should say. Without the sauce for it, the calamari seems bland. Their lunch specials are awesome as well. Served in a bento box that includes salads, 4 pc sushi roll, cheese wonton and the main dish. I have tried their teriyaki salmon also before and it was very good. Very flavorful and tender. The customer service here is superb everytime. Andy by far is the best that has ever served us. Very friendly and alert. This place is worth a try if your in fashion valley mall. Not too fancy, not too cheap. I’ve heard that some charger players come here and have a nice dinner with their partners. Have your camera phones ready as well. As I had mentioned, the valet parking is right outside the place. You never know what type of expensive cars you might see parked outside. Heck, last night I saw a Bugatti and Bentley. Last time, a Ferrari and a Maseratti. Good chance for photo ops. Heck, even the valet attendant can’t help himself and was taking a picture of the Bugatti! lol

I always have a good dining experience when I come here. My husband and I absolutely love sushi! We love trying out different sushi restaurants in each part of SD so if I ever get a sushi craving, we’ll know which place to sit down to satisfy our sushi cravings. They provide complimentary steamed edamame while you wait for your sushi. My favorites: Love the specialty rolls. Dynatmite roll Mango Mango Garlic Maniac Surf-Turf W.A Padre Garlic-chili edamame Hot Green Tea We use to frequent this location a lot, but now frequent the 4S location since it is closer to where we live.

I have a sushi addiction. I make it a mission to try as many sushi places to see which one live up to my expectations on quality and price. Onward! What I had: WA Roll, Rainbow Roll The Good: Was not busy inside at all on a Saturday afternoon Decent service(sat at the bar) Was able to swap out the imitation crab for real crab(+2.00 charge) Tea was yummy! Roll sizes were average sized, easy enough to put it in your mouth entirely(I should probably rewrite this sentence but I won’t) Design/presentation was nice Sushi was about an 7−8÷10 on my scale, keep in mind I eat a lot of sushi. The bad: Appears Korean owned which is common here in the SoCal Menu is a bit confusing to follow, no pictures and the descriptions can be misleading I wish the fish cuts were just a but thicker Price per roll on average was higher but not by much I have been to worse sushi places but also better ones as well(look into Honda-Ya); Chefs were friendly and clean. Fish was being handled properly and did not notice signs of cross-contamination. Will I come back here? Maybe. Will I suggest you give it a try? Sure.

Finally. A sushi place at Fashion Valley. Came here with my friend and tried the Cali roll with some hot plum sake and cucumber. The place was big, the vibe was nice, easy to find and nice to enjoy a booth or table. Service is kinda pressured and there was no soy sauce at my table but the food was good as well as the presentation. I loved the plum sake(& not so much the cucumber which tasted like I was doing straight shots of rubbing alcohol). I’ll definitely be back. Just watch out for any birthdays, I almost had a seizure my first time when they turned off the lights and some really loud music began to play. Kinda cool, though.

I’ve had dinner here a couple of times, catching up with a friend since he works in Mission Valley. The restaurant is located in the front of the mall across from the valet parking lot by Cheesecake Factory. I haven’t seen this place packed on the couple occasions I have dined here, plenty of seating. It was cold out each time I came here, and I got the hot green tea to warm up. On my first visit, I got the Sesame chicken dinner entrée with rice and miso soup. The dish was good. Everything was cooked properly, no complaints here. The last time I was here I got the Yakisoba(pan fried noodles with veggies) and steak. It was actually really tasty. The only thing I didn’t care for in the dish was the cucumbers and the fish cake. The service here is friendly and quick. Prices are reasonable. Restaurant is clean, and reasonably quiet. You can have a decent conversation and catch up with a friend here.

The frist time I came here, my experience was just meh. Second time around… wow. Sat at the bar and was amazed with everything. Came here just to drink with friends but decided to try some of the food… again. I tried the toro, white tuna, and yellowtail nigiri. All were pretty good. So fresh and nicely presented. We also got some basic rolls. Overall, my experience here was pretty good. I love the sushi chef’s. They were so friendly and I like how all the workers dress up and sing happy birthday to you. I was wondering why they turned off all the lights… felt like a club. HAHA. I’ll be back. Only in the evening and definitely when it’s someone’s birthday. lol.
