Life Time Fitness Torchlight 5K

Hey Scott and Lifetime 5k,
I am still waiting to hear back from you about the whereabouts of my 4^th place trophy. You guys «misplaced it» when i was called up to get it from the podium which was not only frustrating, but heart-​breaking and disappointing, to say the least. But when you told me you were going to send it to me via UPS as soon as you made me a new one and failed to follow through with your promise, this is simply terrible and disrespectful. It has already been over 3 months now, this is just getting ridiculous and your lack of character and lack of caring and your failure to provide decent acuity is shameful.
I know this was the first time this event was in San Diego, so the lack of water stations, ambiguous course turns and lack of course monitors/​volunteers is understandable, as well as the sub-​par beergarden, but to not have my trophy, then to offer me the 9^th place trophy in its place and tell me to «call it good», and then to promise me my trophy in the mail after I turned down the 9^th place trophy, only to not send it to me, is a bit disappointing.
Not to mention, this was my first 5k race in over 12 years. My friends came out to see me race, and were excited as well to see me finish in the top 5. I would have had a trophy for only the second time in my life, but to not have that, after the race I ran, and to see the disappointment in my friends’ faces as well, was heart-​wrenching, to say the least.

LOCATION: It was held on Mission Bay Park by the Hilton.
EVENT: I had never heard of this run but they hold the run in various cities across the country. The announcer was super funny. There was live music and some members of the band ran in the race which was pretty cool. Free t-​shirt, bag of chips and 1 beer at the end. Not very many sponsor tents but Naked juice gave away tons of bottles away. The gave out bibs with a tracker on the bib and posted the times on a big screen at the end of the race for everyone to see.
PRICE: We found discounted admission for $ 15 per person on Groupon. A great deal!
PARKING: Free in the various lots around the park.
CONCLUSION: This was a fun run in a great location with lots of nice freebies. A very nice set up for a 5K fo 304 runners and well-​organized. I would do this again!
