I ate here today and the food was great. I got the jerk sandwich with fries and it was so delicious, I ate almost the whole food. It might be a little pricey but it was worth it!

I ate here a few weeks ago and I felt the need to comment on this restaurant being the BESTJAMAICAN restaurant in San Diego. Beats out Island Spice(or whatever that other place is called) any time of the day. I love the plantains and my favorite dish is the curry goat. I am heartbroken because I’m moving mid February and doubt I’ll even find a place like this where I’m heading.

Delicious food and the lady who helped us was nice and suggestive. I tried the jerk chicken and it was pretty good. I’d like to come back and try the shrimp. Was a bit crowded inside.

We ended up here after craving our favorite jamaican spot back home in nj. This place cannot even compare and I hope we will find better Caribbean food in san diego.

Customer service leaves much to be desired. Came in and waited at the counter for a while before even being acknowledged, even after ringing the bell. Even a «be right there» would have been acceptable. He definitely saw us, and wasn’t doing anything, but didn’t pay us any attention until he felt like it(or at least that was the vibe I got). They didn’t have anymore beef patties even though it was far from closing. And the meat dishes had more bones than meat.

The best Jamaican food in San Diego. The jerk chicken with plantains is delicious and at a great price. The savory spice of the jerk is complimented by the perfectly sweet plantains. They also sell their jerk sauce, which I highly recommended if you like to cook. A must try place if you are looking for excellent Jamaican in San Diego. Service is friendly and fast as well!

Probably the worst of all the places I’ve tasted in the San Diego area. My favorite is Mama’s on Home in the liquor store. The jerk chicken tasted nothing like jerk, more like regular barbeque. The chicken was also sort of dry. There was a God awful amount of rice(with like 5 beans in it) compared to cabbage. I would’ve much rather had more cabbage and less of what tasted like bland Jasmine rice. The beef Patty wasn’t bad.

It may be a hole-in-the-wall place and a little hard to find, but it’s worth the trouble. One of the few places serving authentic Jamaican food in San Diego. Also, a really nice proprietor.

Loved the service, patties and the Oxtail with rice and peas. Gravy was nice and thick and not greasy on top like some other establishments. Portion size was good for the price as well. Makes it worth the while to drive the distance. One good thing is that I actually got a lot of meat instead of mostly bones and tiny shreds of beef in the gravy.

The food is good been here a few time but its seems they consistently open late every day. And how is it within the first hour you sell out of patty’s… yeah right that means you didnt have any to begin with. Its 11:010 am and you are still closed. I’m disappointed because my lunch house is limited. This is poor business practices.

Came here while my husband got his hair cut and man this place is so good. It’s a little hole in the wall. Small but clean. I ordered the oxtail dinner. It was so good. I’ve had a couple different places in san diego and this one is the best. I paid 16 bucks but it was worth ever dollar. They gave me so much food I had enough for another meal. This is a must try spot. I’m super satisfied

Food looks really old and has blah taste to it. Customer service really sucks, he was playing his phone while I was waiting at the counter for 5 mins.

Although there was not a full menu and no authentic soda. The curry, stew and jerk chicken was ital. My husband was not able to eat because there was no fish. We will try again the next time we’re in San Diego. I gave it 3 stars b/c of the lack of menu items and drinks. The food taste great!

I was getting some work done on my car and found this little gem of a restaurant. I ordered the jerk chicken(no bone) with plantains and rice– absolute perfection! Perfect spice, more than enough food, and at $ 10 with leftovers for my next meal, I’ll definitely be going back.

Came here today for the second time during my lunch, and it was just as disappointing as the first time I went when they first opened. I called in an order for the jerk chicken combo and jerk pork combo, to which the guy on the phone said it would be ready as soon as I got there. He sure wasn’t kidding about the food being ready because the taste, consistency, and appearance gave me the impression that the food was«ready» ONE or TWO days ago. BOMBACLOT!!! You read that correctly: THEYSERVELEFTOVERS!!! There’s simply no way that their BBQ could taste that terrible when served that early for lunch. Definitely not worth the drive, price, or otherwise.

I’m not one to usually complain, but my experience here was not quite up to par. I ordered online and got the jerk sandwich, fries, and coke. First thing the delivery guy says to me is they were out of coke so they gave me a water instead. The delivery man said he tried to get me a coupon for but they said they couldn’t do anything. Which I was alright with cause I don’t drink too much soda anyway. So when I get my food to my room and start eating I immediately noticed I didn’t actually get any fries. Just rice and a sandwich. Again I thought what ever I’m hungry. So I start to eat the sandwich when I notice a bit of mold on the hamburger bun. Fine now I’m getting a little upset. So I pull the insides out and eat that. Only to find the chicken decent and full of what I think to be gristle. All together these made me rather upset and I feel as if I wasted my $ 8.

Jerk chicken(Delicious), rice and peas(ok), veggies(best ever and I don’t eat anybody’s cabbage), fried plantains(perfection), and coconut water(my first time having coconut water and I was happy because it says with pulp so I was expecting those annoying coconut cake shreds, but it was actually itty bitty bits of coconut meat yum)

I stopped here for lunch with my Mother on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a small place but clean. The food was just ok. Mom ordered jerk wings and fries. She said it didn’t taste like jerk at all. They gave her a huge plate of fries and five wing pieces($ 8 w/coke). I had the oxtail(3 small pieces) which came with a huge plate of rice&peas, cabbage and 2 plaintain slices. $ 15! Way too expensive for the small amount of oxtail I received. I think they try to fill up on on sides to make up for the small amount of meat with your meal. Cashier wasn’t attentive, seemed like we were inconveniencing him because he had to stop texting on his phone to take our order. Will NOT be coming here again.
