I tend to end up here with co-workers for lunch and you really can’t go wrong with a couple of buckets of carnitas and some flour and corn tortillas. The salsa bar is decent and the meat is always excellent. Ends up being $ 10 or so a person and they practically have to role us out the door we’re so stuffed.

Menudo taste like water, ask for coffee it was cold and it taste like water. The only thing i like was the hand made tortillas other than that not worth my money for that nasty menudo.

Like this one better mainly because it’s much closer to my house than the one off Imperial. Came in around 7. Not too many people inside which is a plus. Less creepy perverts haha The waitress was cool. We were kinda bummed she didn’t bring or offer us chips, yet the table behind us did. Good prices. My total for 3 tacos & a michelada was $ 16.(They accept credit cards!) Carnitas tacos bomb & huge! Should have only ordered too! The al pastor could’ve been better but it wasn’t bad. Love that they use real guac, just avocados!(See picture) My sister ordered a ceviche tostada which she said was good My Michelada was tasty.(See picture) We will definitely be back soon! Only negative is of course the area. Super ghetto. And the table we sat at was dirty, but no biggie i just cleaned it myself.

I know they sell more than just carnitas, and I’ve been trying to try something else, but their carnitas are really good! I’ve gone to some places where the meat is crispy, I mean some parts are okay but the whole thing, really? The meat here is tender! I love it!

$ 10.99 for a carnitas combo for 2! Awesome carnitas surtidas with lots of tortillas. The chicharrones were very good too. I will be back!

So this place is like the rest of them in the area. Not very nice on the outside and a little run down inside as well. The food was alright. Was expecting more.

I am so sorry, but the service and the food are not good. I am Mexican, and I know what pozole should taste like, and last weekend I ordered a plate and after the salsa, lemon, oregano and salt still there was no flavor.

If you are a big fan of a lot savory tender carnitas, this a place deserves a visit. Best of all, when you order the combo plate, you get unlimited corn tortillas made on the spot! The combo I ordered, also came with a side of rice, guacamole, and re-fried beans, and of course a heaping pile of carnitas for only $ 8 and some change. Did I mention the unlimited trips to the salsa bar as well? Like I said, the carnitas were very moist and succulent with not one bit of dryness. I loved that there were crispy pieces and melt in your mouth pieces. What you do here, you pile on some of the meat onto a tortilla, add some guac, onions and cilantro with a drizzle of hot sauce and it is on! I was able able to make 5 tacos with the meat, and one with their pickled onions form the salsa bar as well. Great carnitas, let me tell you. The rice and beans were great. I loved that they topped the beans with salty Cotija cheese, the way they should be. The beans were well seasoned and had a great robust flavor as well. The rice was mild in comparison, but well cooked and fluffy. Great friendly service, great carnitas, and homemade tortillas, you bet I am a fan!

Top 3 carnitas spots of all time!!! No joke. You know the place is no joke when you step in and see a huge case of freshly made chicurrones at the door. The menu is much more extensive than I expected. It was cold and crummy out and I have a weakness for pozole, so I had to order that, a carnitas taco and Modelos. Awesome salsa bar of everything you need. Best Mexican beer selection you could ask for. Dope ass woman making hand made tortillas and running them to tables. Then the magic hits the table, carnitas taco from the Gods. Freshly made tortilla with a huge portion of the most succulent carnitas you could ask for. Melts in your mouth delicious. Then the pozole hits the table. Very authentic with nice subtle flavors that coat your ribs and make you feel like you’re on top of the world. I’m shocked this place is still under the radar. This is my perfect little slice of heaven. Can’t recommend enough.

I had the California burrito and my buddy had the Carne asada platillo. Both were real solid. I will most definitely come back. I would say the burrito was one of the best I’ve had.

Oink Oink… Great Carnitas. Normally when you go to your average Restaurant or Taco shop and you order Carnitas, you will get your meat and that’s it. At this location you can choose what type of Carnitas you want like Buche, Maciza, Costilla and Cueritos. You could also order 2 different type of Chicharron, with meat or without. My Favorite is Chicharron with meat and Maciza and Costilla. Great prices. 1 lb of Carnitas, Salsa, Beans, Tortillas all of 9 bucks… if you dine in make sure to get a bucket of beer. 7 beers plus 1 pound of Carnitas and Chicharron for 25 bucks. Tortillas are fresh and bigger and thicker yellow corn tortillas.

1 pound of carnitas for 9 bucks with tortillas and beans SCORE. Yummy carnitas… sooooo tender and delicious. I also got a beef milanesa torta which was equally as delicious and the prices are unbeatable! PS. I love their sign with a baby pig in the cooker omg! only in Mexico! :)

I know this place is known for its carnitas but since I am practicing no meat on Fridays, at least for this lent season, we ordered some fish tacos and ceviche. 99cents for fish tacos on Fridays… heck yeah! They are not the mini-tacos therefore I got full with eating two of my three. It was good and fresh along with the ceviche. Some tio even gave a couple bottles of his Corona to the bf. Score! We want to come back and try those carnitas next time!

Dine in or take out. They have menus and a large menu board placed on the wall behind the register. The Menudo was pretty interesting and good. It’s stew or soup that has tripe in it. Delicious! Especially when you add some cilantro and onions in it. My bf got the beef fajitas plate and it was not bad. Overall everything was good but the meat was kind of dry. The tortillas they gave us was pretty hard and dry as well. For the California burrito, it was different from other California burritos we’ve had. For one, no guacamole. But it was still juicy and flavorful. I’ve had the 5 beef rolled tacos for $ 3.99 and it’s like any other place. They also have mini TJ tacos for $ 1.25. I’ve had carne asada and carnitas. Both very good. The carne asada has the beef and guacamole. The carnitas is soft and juicy. Add some onions, cilantro and lime. and the taco is complete.

A road trip with my niece to San Diego. I told her that we would get Mexican food because you’d get better food the closer to the border. I was wrong. It wasn’t bad. It was just not that good. Ordered carnitas plate($ 8.50), 3 rolls fish tacos($ 2.99) and 5 rolls beef tacos($ 3.99). –Love the fresh handmade tortilla. The tortilla is chewy, yum and thicker than your usual corn tortilla. –Love the fact that they have salsa bar. –Love its friendly service. –Love its chunky guac. –Love its price. I am disappointed with the taste though. The carnitas was not tasty and the beef tacos were meh. The TV was playing this cooking channel and it’s about how to make sushi =X 3 stars! Las Morelianas Carnitas Estilo is almost yummylicious!

Not a neighborhood I normally cruise around in, but was introduced to this gem this weekend. I had the«Tostada Loca», a heaping pile of cold shrimp, crab, scallops, oysters and octopus(and probably some other stuff I’m missing) with avocado, lime and cilantro served up with a stack of crisped corn tortillas. I don’t do octopus, or at least I never had before. But I gotta say, I didn’t mind it so much. It was enough to feed at least 3 people. According to the reviews here, carnitas are the way to go, I’ll have to try them next time.

I had a burrito craving, so I decided to try this place, and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered a carne asada burrito. When it arrived, I couldn’t believe how big it was, plus along with the meat, it was packed with pico de gallo, plus the salsa, carrots, radishes and other items were not far away. With it being just a few blocks from where I live, I’m sure that l’ll be returning soon for another one. It’s a huge improvement over the new taco shops across the street from me(Tacos de Mexicali).

Good prices Fast service. Good place to go for Carnitas. Meals are not too expensive. The carne asada is very good and the portions are healthy. Every meal that I’ve had has been very good and tasty. Authentic Mexican style. Within walking distance of where I work so that makes it nice. There is a small lot that gets full so you may have to park on the street.
