I don’t know how this«restaurant» is still in business. I ordered the large Mongolian bbq bowl for $ 8 and stacked it to the heavens. The«chef» then threw it on the grill and let it sit for ~5 minutes while tending to other dishes. By the time she got to it, half the items were burnt and stuck to the grill. In the end, my box with noodles and rice wasn’t even half full. How is this worth $ 8? Seriously need to get their shit together.

They spent how much money to remodel this place, only to have it become SLOWER and have the food DECREASE in quality. The Hispanic ladies are actually pretty efficient, but they do get orders incorrect a lot. In regards to the younger student workers, foghed-aboud-it because they are slow as slow gets. USD, stop spending our money frivolously on stupid things. You wouldn’t need to enforce parking citations or SLP rules at a military-like strictness if you would just be smart about your money. Literally, you could have saved that money and used it to hire more workers and buy better quality ingredients. Instead, I have to wait 30 minutes for a grilled damn cheese. And while this food is of higher quality as most universities, for $ 8 for sandwich the size of my fist I damn straight better be getting a decent sandwich(and by decent, I mean decent according to college standards). They also don’t know how to make money. Why stack the refrigerator with 50 gross garbanzo bean pastas that no one orders when you could be utilizing those constraints to make say, more pesto pasta salad, which goes the quickest. Stupid stupid stupid. I’m tired of USD penny-pinching us and then using those pennies on fancy soda fountains …

Still not the tastiest place to eat but it is much improved since they remodeled the interior and changed some of the menu items. It still seems to takes a while to get your order made however.

Overly black-peppered in several dishes, which were prepared mish-mosh, i.e., without distinction or originality. The basic chip and salsa were not apparently genuine, or at least seemed not home-made. Overall, no return is my view.

Since I attend school here I say this place is the best place for a good decently healthy meal on campus. Ask for a «Ham It Up» or just go with a gyro, or chose for yourself, also I’m a huge fan of the hummus wraps for a quick lunch. Can’t wait to go back to school for one!

This is my favorite place to eat on campus. So far I had the gyros sandwich, and it was very very good for college campus food. I know the farmers market on campus also has a gyro sandwich. I will have to try that one and compare. The one I had at La Paloma was very good. But if you want great food on the West campus, definitely stop here.

On the good note: they have a coffee machine and actually know how to make a coffee of your choice; also they make very good sandwiches. Now not so good: if you want anything besides coffee and sandwiches, better look for a different place(relatively hard to do on USD campus!). Recently they’ve started serving soups and gyros, but I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Anyways, the main minus of the place is that they’re really crowded in daytime: there are lots of hungry students on campus!

Located on the University of San Diego campus, La Paloma is a fantastic choice for sandwiches. Everything is made to order and their weekly specialty sandwiches SO choice. Aside from the delicious food, La Paloma’s spectacular location allows outdoor seating overlook Mission Bay. If you happen to stop by USD’s campus, grab a quick bite at La Paloma in the Institute for Peace and Justice, you will not be disappointed.
