I definitely would recommend this place for all you shipping and postal needs. Raymond is extremely friendly and helpful and loves to give locals discounts. I am a big fan of small business and this guy deserves it! One happy customer here.

I really felt like I was being taken for a ride. My gut is usually dead on and I always give the benefit of the doubt and never write negative reviews… ever. I gave the owner a chance to do right by me and asked questions and clearly was looking for a deal and didn’t care about the fastest route for less important mail. Despite this, I was told that mail wouldn’t be delivered to the customer’s hands in NY(I lived in manhattan for 4 years and this is crap). That was my first hint and being offered chocolate doesnt distract me from less than transparent service. I have used multiple postal service spots like this and have seen the diversity in how they choose to run. This was the first time I truly felt uncomfortable. And I’m not one to care and write reviews about everything(who has the time?) and I recognize the potential damage that can be done and don’t wish to do that. However, I felt this was worth my time to say something. I like postal centers that show you the screen displaying choices. Despite questions, I was given one choice which was always way more than I expected to pay. I went in with a few small packages, was told if the post office needed to pick up a package that there would be a $ 4 fee for each(what?), and this has not happened elsewhere. Additionally, media mail was not a choice oddly despite other similar places offering this! I was even told I could pay with a credit care unless again, I was to pay a fee. Everything was a fee and I am not cheap remotely and I never think about writing bad reviews, but this time I felt it necessary. I was also told«you can trust me» as I was clearly asking more questions than the average stooge would. And even tho I appear to look like I fell off the back of a turnip truck, I’m no idiot. Lived in NYC for years so I know when someone is trying to just trick me. I just feel when you are trying to look at the bigger picture as a small business owner and maybe take lower fees and build the trust, the longterm effect will be returning loyal customers who feel you respect their money and business. I felt icky when I left and that my hardearned money was likely not used wisely today. Show the computer screen of choices, do not overcharge for supplies, do not charge for everything and maybe you will encourage trust and return business. Additionally, a few items were sold via amazon and I would have save more if I threw the small item in the trash and didn’t bother unloading my things.

Roy is great! Always helpful. Always pleasant. Always smiling. Easy location, easy parking, no hassles as with the other postal stores in The Village. Highly recommend! As for«J’s» comments below from 1÷12÷2012, if you’re looking for the best price over this extremely convent location, then I would suggest you make the drive to Staples, Office Max, Costco, whatever. For me, the convenience far out weighs the mark up, well worth it! Personally I have never experienced anything«J» speaks of. Give Roy at La Jolla Shores Postal a try.
