Very quaint Mom and Pop deli that is well off the main streets, but it stays busy. There are about 20+ sandwiches and burgers to choose from and some soup options, too. I had the #3 Turkey sandwich on squaw bread and it was delicious! The bread comes fresh from the bakery next door. The owner is friendly and visits with all the customers.

Not for vegetarians. They were willing to stay open late to allow me to buy lunch, but they only had 2 veggie options which were lettuce, tomato, avocado. I asked if they had other veggies to add, but they said no. The other customer there indicated that he really liked the roasted chicken sandwich. I went to Brothers Café down the street where they had more than 8 veggie options!

My co-worker loves this place. I, on the other-hand have had better food especially for the prices. I’ve had the Cobb Salad, huge portion and a good salad. A half portion is enough for me though. Maybe ill ask if they do «Half Orders.» Tuna sandwich was good but it upset my stomach :( BBQ roast beef was good but I should’ve asked if it came with any trimmings. Some pickles and tomatoes would have been nice. I just feel like I’m always disappointed with their food. I tried, several times, but I’m just not a big fan.

Great place to pick up a sandwich and head back to the office! The bread is delicious, so soft and fresh. The service is great too. Sam makes delicious samwiches :) with love(his words). my favorite is the egg salad, but they are all good and good sized. You can call in your order too.

I totally judge a place by it’s turkey sandwich… I had one(I think the #20) on sourdough, it came with bacon and avocado… SOGOOD! A bunch of us work down the street and when we take our break we usually go to «the deli».

Hands down the best deli in San Diego! I just finished my Philly Steak Sandwich with mushrooms and it was perfect. I’ve been eating here every week for 2 years now and I still can’t get enough. The food quality is beyond any deli I have ever visited. I highly recommend the Sunrise Special for breakfast but you must come back for lunch and try the Philly Sandwich. You can choose Chicken or Steak for the Philly and both will leave you extremely satisfied. Sam and his team are always genuine and it’s easy tell they have a passion for what they do. Thank you, La Jolla Bakery & Deli. I’ll be back on Monday for more!

Not much for ambiance if that is important to you. But if you go places for great-tasting, high quality food, this is a place you’ll want to check out. Service was quick. I’m on a pretty tight food budget, so $ 6 for just an egg salad sandwich kind of made me hesitate — especially since I’d never been there before and wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was worth it! The sandwich was huge and delicious! Great bread, cheese and specialty mustard definitely made this more of a gourmet sandwich. It’s off the main road, but super easy to get to using GPS.(Not many stop lights or much traffic back in that area.) I’d go there again!

There are delis and then there are those places that serve basic food so well that you’ll drive out of you way to visit. La Jolla Baking Co is one of the latter and worth the trip. I’ve had most of their sandwiches for lunch but my favorites are the hot pastrami on their fresh sourdough and the turkey bacon avocado. Boars Head meats and cheeses with the amazing bread and rolls is a winning combo. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I had a very delicious chicken breast sandwich. The service was quick, and the lady was very friendly. The smell of fresh-baked bread while I waited just made the actual sandwich taste all that much better. I am in San Diego for business and I wish I had found them earlier in the week so that I could have eaten there more than once. I’d definitely go back to try out the other options.

This place is an excellent lunch spot. The owners also work at this place and take great pride in ensuring that you are satisfied with your meal. The older gentleman is an excellent cook and sandwich maker! He’s also extremely nice. I took some of my co-workers here after testing the place out by myself and they all loved it. His wife is extremely nice… she came to check on us a few times. The part that impressed me the most was when you walk in they take your order at the front counter. Under normal circumstances you would pay before they gave you your food. Not here, at least not when I went. We paid after we ate. To me that shows extreme trust in your customers for a place that doesn’t have cameras. I like this place and wish I still worked near it so I could eat lunch here!

This place is a really good lunch/breakfast spot. All the bread is baked there. Good quality meats, their grilled chicken on any sandwich is excellent. The couple that runs the place is very nice and will remember your name after a few visits. It’s great seeing a local business succeeding and they really deserve it. I come here about 2 – 3 times a week now.

There are a lot of delis in the area and this is the hands down favorite! What sets La Jolla Bakery apart from the rest is the fresh baked breads and super high quality deli meats which are stacked in generous portions onto your sammich. Slightly more expensive than some others in the area but I have found that you absolutely get what you pay for. It also helps that the couple running the place are adorable and so friendly, they make you feel like part of the family. I would, and often do, highly recommend!

Their breakfast sandwich is a deal for under $ 4 and it’s prepared fresh! I would also recommend their reuben. If you work in the area and don’t get a long lunch break, I would recommend phoning in your order for pick up. It’s a cute little sandwich shop, worth giving a try.
