I can’t call this a Farmers Market when it consists of a honey stand, a flower stand and one fruit and vegetable purveyor. Basically it’s a small collection of pop up tents and cooked food Vendors. It’s probably super awesome if you work within walking distance and want a Hot Dog and a Samosa but otherwise pretty missable.

I went to the Kearny Mesa Farmers Market in San Diego last Friday. This is a sorry excuse for a farmers market. Just about every booth was cooked or prepared food. That’s great for people who work in the area because there are no places to eat(unless the gourmet food trucks are in the area). I walked over to get some Bitchin’ Sauce and and planned to get some fresh veggies to dip for lunch… except for one minor problem; there were no vegetable booths! NOTEVENONE! I might be crazy … but aren’t farmers markets suppose to have some VEGETABLES???

Open every friday from 10:30am to 1:30pm…check it out if you’re in the neighborhood. Mostly food vendors, but lots of yummy things to try :)
