Our family was driving around looking for a sushi place and found this place. Our rolls were falling apart and it was very over priced. We will not be returning, not worth the 100.00 bill we got.

I’ve been coming here for 8 years now and love it. The sushi is great, the owners are awesome. The place is clean and we have never had bad food here. We eat here at least once every two Weeks. The popcorn shrimp roll is my favorite! The California roll is simple and good too!

This is probably my favorite place to eat in SD! The sushi is amazing! The best I’ve had around here. If you love seared ahi tuna, they honestly have the best I’ve ever tasted. The feeling inside is great, it’s laid back and comfortable, and they have good prices and great deals on their rolls. The older lady that works here is SO nice and friendly. Everyone that works there is! I HIGHLY recommend trying Jump Tokyo. You will love the ambiance and food. Great job Jump Tokyo!!!

Been there for a lot of times. This is our go-to place when we are in that area and no in hurry. But I still give it 4 stars because of their service. If they improve their service, I would revise my review to 5 stars. I think this is family-owned business kind, so the service is a little bit slow. But if you aren’t hurry, so it would be perfect place for you. Servers won’t check up your table frequently so asked for extra glass of water so you won’t have to wait for them to refill. And they will stand away from your table few steps and throw a tab for you and while turning around they say Thank you. For me, i feel it is little bit weird for them to do that. I mean, come on, step a few more steps to patron’s table to ask about their entire meal and say thank you won’t take you forever. So why don’t you do that to show your appreciation to your patrons? I usually order sashimi combo(no tuna cuz my bf is allergic to it. They add extra pieces of salmon for us), albacore sashimi, uni, hand roll spicy salmon, beef teriyaki entrée, tilapia sashimi, masago. I asked for ponzu sauce, no charge, so it is a big plus for me. :) Some place charge $ 1, or $.75 for small side of ponzu sauce or extra wasabi/ginger. Tips: They won’t give you water unless you ask for it.

Hidden gem. I really appreciated the customer service. The rolls are extremely delicious and all at a reasonable price. This is a perfect location for a quick sushi date without crazy lines. I also LOVED the macaron selection for dessert!

I came to go to the place next door truthfully,(Saigon Star) it was 8:45pm and Saigon Star staff decided it was too late for service even though their sign says it closes at 9:00. So I ended up, eating here(Open till 10:00). I was pleasantly surprised, I tried a variety of things from their soup to their sushi to the bulgogi. Everything was 4−5star quality. Staff was relatively attentive, there was only one lady as a server for the whole place but she did pretty good job, the place is on the smaller side, and wasn’t that busy so it worked. In the strip mall this place is located its unbelievable the amount of food options. Now they added a great sushi/Japanese/Korean fusion. I could definitely eat here again, come here if you are a sushi fan, otherwise you have many other options ;) Happy eating!

Dined in around 11/4ish. Had an early dinner at 4. The service was really good. There was an older lady and maybe I think her daughter? That were on top of everything. We didn’t have to ask for more ginger, or water. My boyfriend had a spicy chicken bento and I had a sushi combo. My plate was delish! The fish tasted very fresh and their California roll that comes with the combo wasn’t heavy with mayonnaise ATALL. The rice was perfectly vinegary and lemony. In other words I loved my combo. My boyfriend on the other hand got his chicken a little burnt. Maybe a little too burnt. The tempura though was crispy and nicely battered. Salad dressing was sweet just the right amount. This place is located amongst other small businesses like a cupcake place, thai place, I tan and etc. Would recommend for a quick bite.

The sushi is good. The waitress wasn’t paying attention to our order though. We had to order three different times in order to get all our food and then somehow they tried to say we ordered an extra sushi roll. I like that they name their sushi roll based off the local area. There is a Chargers roll that’s pretty good. I would come back with the hopes that the waitress will get our order all at the same time.

They get two stars for atmosphere and that’s the best part. I will say people’s plates I saw had some pretty nice looking rolls. Presentation: We got take out and the rolls my husband got were sloppy(barely any sesame seeds, no Cavier on top) maybe cause it was take out they don’t waste any bells and whistles but cheaper places look nicer then that. Food taste: I got chicken it was very dry and tasted bland Rolls were just kinda«gross» There was a salad included that had iceberg lettuce that was brownish(couldn’t eat) Overall: For the price I expected better tasting food and better looking food, I read some review and honestly it seems fluffed. Don’t believe we will dine there again.

Been here a few times, and loved every time I’ve visited. I am not adventurous – I stick to the safe California roll, maybe an occasional Salmon roll. So I would not be good judge for those who try and eat the exotic sushi concoctions. My «go-to» is a Cali Crunch and a Philadelphia for a chill price of $ 7.95, one of their great specials. From a select menu, you can choose two rolls for $ 7.95. Pretty affordable. Pretty chill. Fills my belly. It is a hole in the wall, not a top-tier, dinner venue. So just come, relax, and grab a couple rolls with a friend or a date. And relax.

Made me a little hesitant coming in with the Korean influence offering stews. But this is my kind of sushi spot. I love sushi places that aren’t fancy but have great sushi chefs slinging amazing deals. Happy hour made me very happy here. Great beer and special prices. I like the deal on the combo rolls. They’re well staffed and it’s very comfortable here. I like their casual and friendly approach how they treat their customers. I’d recommend sitting at the bar. The sushi chefs put in a great show and seem to give you a little more care and urgency over the other customers. Love the extra care they put in the rice. A little heavy handed with the wasabi, but that’s a plus in my book. The mackerel blew me away the most. Got a good deal on great food and will be back soon.

Hungry after an afternoon of baking under the SoCal sun, I Unilocaled for the nearest sushi/sashimi place. This came up. At first I only saw rolls but soon enough I saw pics of sashimi. Perfect. 1.something miles away from the stadium, this was a great stop before we braved the traffic back to Los Angeles. This is in the same as the PetSmart store. Or was it PetCo? Only 2 booths occupied when we arrived but more people came in to eat and for take outs as our meal progressed. The servers were nice and our food came out pretty quick. Gyoza(2 stars) — tasted like it came out of the freezer and straight into hot oil. I actually make better gyoza from the packages I buy at Costco. Fried calamari(2 stars) — see description above. Sashimi plate(4 stars) — 15 pieces of sashimi with the usual suspects on there: tuna, salmon, yellow tail, seared bass and something else. Tasted fresh! Sushi dinner plate(4 stars) — 8 pieces of nigiri, one California roll, and miso soup. Tasted great, too. And they gave is an extra bowl of miso soup. Yay! Overall, a great place for your sashimi fix but stay away from their fried appetizers. Total average rating of 3 stars.
