The second Saterday in a row I have ordered from this location Jack in the Box. Both times it was drive through service, and it was relatively fast, 6 minutes in and out. 6 minutes isn’t very long but when your hungry it can seem like a 30 minute wait. I ordered around 10:00 a.m. Which can mean maybe they are short handed before the lunch rush, but the customer service was polite and quick. 4 stars!

Employees and food are good, but fix the damn a/c literally was 98 degrees to hot to even stand in line.

Absolute garbage. Terrible incompetent employees. Literally not even 30 minutes ago I came back from the drive thru. Not only did I get charged 80 bucks for the garbage food. I was handed an incomplete order and I had told the 2 of the girls the cashier and what seemed to be the manager of the night that I had a spicy chicken sandwich left to receive. She said she was aware yet when I got home it was a completely different item. I was charged 4 times for items that I didn’t even order. If there’s anyone who even cares for quality assurance in this establishment I suggest you start with the employees who are currently working while this review is being typed.

I have eaten here — at this location — since the late 90’s and EVERYTIME the food has been good. As for the service, I have never even thought about it, so it certainly can’t that bad or I would have definitely remembered it. Now when I read the negative reviews on this particular Jack in the Box location I have to wonder why it is that every time I come here the food is just fine. Am I to assume that I have«just been lucky» all these many years. I mean I live in this area and no one has EVER said anything negative about it in any way. Now that Burger King in Clairemont Mesa by the Surf Shop is notorious for bad food and everyone local in town knows it. But I have never heard even one bad remark about the Kearny Mesa Jack in the Box. Sure, there definitely are some crappy Jack in the Boxes in this city, especially the further south you travel, but this is not one of those. Anyway, all I can do is give you my review of this place from my own personal experience which is that this particular Jack in the Box has never let me down even one time and I give it a fully deserved 4-Star rating for CONSISTENTLY serving me good food for such a very long time. That is my opinion.

This review is aimed solely to one individual. Let me begin by saying, this is not personal. The employee«Brittany» needs a reality check and retrained lesson on «How to provide customer service». Her title of Shift Leader was not in any means her reflection of her costumer service. I should say«UNPROFESSIONAL» and«SARCASTIC», did I mention all done with a(Fake grinned smile). My family’s drive thru interaction was a nightmare and to make this short, thank god I have the patience and respect that I am blessed with. At the speaker: 1. No greeting at the speaker. 2. Interruption while placing multiple orders. Followed by(silence) and(ignoring me). After I requested to «PLEASELETMEFINISH, PLEASEDONTINTERRUPTME». 3. Error on her behalf about the sizes. 4. DIDNOTREPEATTHEORDERBACK. At the window: 5. No «hello» or «I am sorry». I gave her the opportunity to recover, but NO! 6. No total given and complete cold shoulder. Me: So I say. Excuse me but«Are you having a bad day, why are you so rude»? Her: I’m not Me: well your customer service and attitude is not good. Her: I don’t have one. Me: WOW! This is the worst service EVER! Her: that’s to bad. Me: another WOW! with a UNBELIEVABLE! Me: can you at least repeat my order?. Her: ~WALKSAWAY~ Her:(returns to window) only gives TOTAL, and drinks(no offered drink carrier), then cc with receipt. Her: I need you to pull forward, the car behind you only has 2 tacos.(no please!). Me: in(Parking lot). I lost my appetite. Me:(walked inside), requested refund and stated I did not want the food. How sad that BADAPPLES give a business; 1. Lost profit 2. No repeat customers due to Bad service. 3. Imagine those customers that just let things go only because it is a Fast food joint. As a paying customer I do not demand anything, we all need a job. Difference is some care about their position and others get away with a lot. Did I mention I am a regular for over 21 years…

***I think that the salty caramel shake was pretty good because the of the fact that I had drank two mules and a basil lemonade.*** I remember taking a picture of the cup because I thought the message was super cute… something about brain mittens!

Attention Corporate Office !!! Please tell the owner of this Jack in the box franchise stop serving re-heated hamburger patties. The public deserves a freshly cooked hamburger patty on each hamburger not a disgustingly dried out reheated hamburger patty. I have complained about this to the store manager before. Stop serving reheated hamburger patties !!! Others please complain if this happens to you !!!

I got a number 9. Asked to substitute the breaded chicken for grilled chicken. They told me it would be a $ 2.62 increase for the grilled chicken. That is ridiculous to ask so much for essentially a piece of chicken that has less on it. I’ve done it at other locations with a minimal charge of 50 cents or something but for some reason at this location they feel the need to rape you in the ass. The 1 star isn’t even because of that, the sandwich they gave me tasted like shit and that’s why I gave it 1 star. And i didnt get a receipt to call to leave a complaint so I had to do it here. Terrible jack location. Try the one in the Clairemont town center it’s way better.

Things fall apart when this place gets slammed in a busy time. We came in for lunch, and saw that mistakes were happening with customer orders(one drive thru customer came in to turn in the wrong order and get this right order, and another customer was shorted on part of their order). Did we escape without any hiccups? nope. The cashier, who gets points for being friendly to guests, specifically asked us if we wanted cheese on the spicy chicken and my lunch companion said no. and we got cheese on it. my ultimate breakfast sandwich was properly made and tasty. but the fries in the spicy chicken combo were really bland — like they had not been salted. Overall, the staff was trying, but i feel like this was a fail on the stress test on one of those restaurant turnaround shows. There’s other Jack in the Box restaurants to eat at, so I’d go to those instead of this one.

We walked in this morning, and the place reeked of sewage. It was so terrible, that my friend and I walked out, only to hit up another location. There was, in no way possible, a chance you could possibly sit and keep your food down whilst eating inside. There was also no one at the counter to greet any customers or take orders. Now I understand why the place was empty.

Unless I want to drive an extra ten minutes in any direction, I am stuck going to this location. I can not tell you how many times I have had problems with this location. The food usually tastes right because its corporate food with high standards, it’s the employees that make it hard to come here. It feels like they are bothered just by people showing up. There’s nothing like feeling you are putting someone out just for wanting to patronize their establishment. This place is notorious for the staircase sandwich as well, a sandwich that is so thrown together it looks like it was knocked over and wrapped up. How hard is it to cover a circle with a circle and then place a square on top of that circle with a circle on top of the square, it’s day one stuff. Countless times I have had to ask for a receipt or I just don’t get one, which leaves you with no recourse, should you have an issue once you leave the larking lot.

I ordered a bacon breakfast jack combo. when I got my order, I looked in my breakfast jack, only to find ham… no bacon to my surprise! I walked in and told the lady behind the counter, she told me that what I had ordered didn’t come with bacon. Then when I proceeded to tell her that is what I ordered she rolled her eyes and handed it to the guy who took my order. No one had said sorry for the inconvenience, they just acted like they were in the right the whole time! This is not the first time this has happened and I know it will not be the last time either! Don’t waste your time here, go to another one!

I’ve had a problem each time I’ve come to this one. Whether it’s having to repeat an order several times over the intercom, and then still have it be wrong despite confirming that they had the right order at one point(yeah, that really did happen) or the order was right, but the food was terrible. There’s also been the combination of both of those examples happening simultaneously. Sadly, this is usually the one on the way home or to where ever I am heading out to most of the time. Hopefully they get their act together, but I doubt it.

Just came from the Clairemont Surf Shop(cause I needed wax«Sticky Bumps» for my surfboard) and I needed a quick bite before I hit the waves. Even though it’s just a JACKINTHEBOX, nothing beats their 2 Tacos for .99 cents. It’s certainly not the best tacos around, and to be honest, I’m not even sure what’s inside of these JACKINTHEBOX tacos that people seem to like, but it DOESTHEJOB… especially when you’re in a hurry and need to catch the waves in Pacific Beach(cause it was a good surf day.)

Brekky served all day, ninety-nine cent menu, and so-bad-that-they’re pretty good tacos(plus chances to get free taco coupons at a Padres game). The kiosk remembers what I like and they serve up some of the quickest 4th meal drunk food when the masses get booted from the nearby bars and clubs. Sometimes the burrito hotspots get a little too crowded and some diners are painfully sloooow, so JitB is well prepared for that overflow traffic. I’ve never had any food fails here yet, so thanks for the snacks!

So I go through the drive thru and order 5 combo meals and they offer me the mini funnel cake for $ 1 extra. I thought it was word when she handed me only 1 bag for all the items I ordered but didn’t think anything of it. When I get back to work and separate the items, I was missing the funnel cake. Checked the receipt and was charged for it. Its not about the money since it was only $ 1, but the principal. This is now the second time they charged me and didn’t include the item in my order. 1 star.

Jack in the Box is seriously one of my guilty pleasures. Unfortunately, this is the closest one to my place. I mean the food is all the same everywhere, but the service here sucks! One time I went through the drive thru and they asked us to park on the other side to wait for our food. It took them about 15 minutes for them to come outside. We actually had to go in and ask for our food! There have been other incidents of them forgetting food in the drive thru. Jack in the box is cool in general, but this location sucks.

I don’t think I have had a bad experience with JITB. It’s been consistantly good over the years, with maybe the exception of the two weeks that Jack had been critically injured in a bus accident. I’m glad to see him back on his feet. They continue to roll out new menu items every few months and you gotta hand it to the guy… the new, random item is usually a welcomed and tasty addition. Their menu is probably the largest, all over the place selection of fast food out there. Where else can you eat two tacos, a breakfast sandwich and curly fries? I stopped in yesterday for a free grilled sandwich. I had already had one a few weeks ago when they first came out, so I knew what to expect. I just wanted a free lunch. It’s a very good sandwich and much tastier than what you’d expect from a drive-thru. It seemed as though Jack was prepared for the onslaught of hungry working folk in search of a free meal. There was a long line when I arrived, but I waited no more than usual. I enjoy JITB at least once a week and as I said before; never a bad experience, horrible bathroom adventure post meal, or random curly hair in my mayo. Keep up the good work Jack.
