You gotta pay to play and the ‘I Love Poke Festival’ was definitely worth the $ 65 admission. This was my first time attending and it won’t be my last. Luckily, we found parking in just as we arrived. The line was long and I wondered how all these people were going to fit in there. Yes, there were a few traffic jams inside, but we were still able to maneuver throughout the place. There was sooooo much poke! Much more that I expected! And the desserts. the desserts were deeeeeeelicious!!!(I posted pics) I was stuffed at the end of the day and succumbed to a food coma once I got back home. I’m looking forward to attending this event every year!

My friend and I have been waiting for this festival since we found out about it last year after it had already happened! We shelled out the $ 65 and put on some aloha wear and hit Shelter Island early, which was a good idea cause parking fills up fast and the line starts early. So many pokes. So many Hawaiian inspired desserts! So much aloha. If you can’t be in Hawaii, the I Love Poke Festival is the next best thing. Love love love it!

This was the first year that I attended to the I LOVEPOKEFESTIVAL! At first, I was skeptical about spending $ 66 on admission to this and thinking it would be over price for just poke. Well I thought wrong! I would definitely do this again and bring my family and friends. I posted many pictures of some of the restaurants that attended and many of the desserts that were there too. There was a variety of other foods there other than poke. Such as Spam Musubis, Tacos, Pulled Pork, Ice cream, Toffee and etc! It was all you can eat, so you were able to try it over and over again. :) The event was from 6−9pm. Make sure for next time to get there early. The line to get in actually gets pretty long. I mean I got there at like 5:30 and the line was already getting long. There is also a few bars all around the venues so thats nice that they had more than one. The lines for each spot wasn’t as long as I expected. Everything was moving fast and people were grabbing as they go. If you were one of those people that didn’t think the $ 66 admission was worth it. well I’m telling ya! IT’S WORTHIT! See you guys next year !!!

Poke! Festival! Put the two together and how are you not already salivating, you emotionless robot? Apparently this was the 4th annual Poke Fest(where was I the first three times?!) and hopefully the start of a new tradition for me. The event was well-run and most importantly it wasn’t oversold like some events I’ve been to in the past. I’m looking at you, LA Street Food Fest! Despite the large crowd there was never a real line for food. In fact there was still plenty of poke on tables two hours in. And oh yeah, there’s more than just poke! A ton of other local businesses and chefs were out with things like jicama fruit tacos(very tasty from Casa de Juice) and HI-style shaved ice(Wahine Kai). We stuffed ourselves rather quickly and spent the rest of the night enjoying the live music and beautiful view of downtown. For better or worse, you’re also across the water from the Naval Air Station at North Point and will get to enjoy the soothing sounds of Top Gun as you fatten the tummy. What else could be more quintessentially San Diego? At $ 55 a person, the price is getting up there, but the lack of lines and abundance of food made it a price I’d happily pay again! And for those that missed this event, another one will happen in OC on 6÷5÷13.
