If you are not fond of sleeping in a cold, damp alley; getting stabbed or pissed-on by stray cats, this place might be for you. Though, there are times I would gladly elect to take the cat urination. The Good: Cheap Rent — Yay, more money for fish tacos! Security Gates — Designed to keep the riff-raff out! Playground– Your kids will love you! The Bad: Cheap Rent– Attracts some less-than-savory individuals Security Gates-Im pretty sure the City of San Diego put these up to keep the riff-raff in. Playground– An eye sore. 1 jungle jim, two swings and a ghetto-rigged seesaw thing) the place looks like a post-apocalyptic bomb site. Your kids will hate you — if they survive getting beat down by the playground gang, that is. The Ugly: Resident Manager is verrrrrrry slow, not just physically if you catch my drift. No sense of urgency. Property Management team is run out of LA and im pretty sure they are robots or chimpanzees. I once sent in a rent check on Sunday the 1st, got charged a $ 40 late fee because it was post-marked the 2nd. Tried explaining the situation. Pro-tip: they do not like explanations. They have also tried to get away with some very questionable charges. They attempted to charge me a random $ 20 «cleaning fee» for cleaning the walkway outside my apartment. WTF? Dont move here if you like the refreshing taste of water –or– working sinks –or– toilets –or– showers. Nuh uh, that doesnt fly here at the Home Garden apartments, where every damn day they shut the water off for an «emergency repair» At least they give plenty of notice, right? Yes, if you consider a hasty email sent minutes before the water goes off. My fault for not checking emails whilst taking a dump– now I cant flush and have to look at that beast for god knows how many hours. One cool thing about these apartments though, is that they do come with a FREEENTERTAINMENTPACKAGE! I get the luxury of hearing all my favorite hip-hop jams from the neighbors 24⁄7!!! If that’s not enough, you get plenty of «wake-up calls» from drivers who constantly pull up in the«Fire Zone — NOPARKING» area and blast their horns for our lovely neighbors-at all hours of the night! Dont want you sleeping in too late, you little sleepy-head ;) Hell, you might even get lucky and catch a Friday-night fight in the parking lot(the same lot where mine and my neighbors cars got keyed on several different nights) Here you will find some very courteous neighbors who are nice enough to constantly remove your clothes from the washers/dryers(sometimes even before the cycle is up, talk about dliligence!) They are also nice enough to drag their trash bags on the floor, so as to leave a nice little juice trail straight to the trash bin. Now youll never get lost going to and fro the overstuffed dumpster. Yayyyyy! Seriously though, you’re better off with getting stabbed and pissed on. This place sucks :(

This apartment complex is quiet in the day & can get loud throughout the night from couples arguing, babies crying, to the younger crowd coming home from a nights out and raging in the hallways because they’ve had too much to drink to cars parking in the emergency area just playing loud music! On a good note it is gated but often you’ll see it open & kept open by a piece of cardboard. This apartment complex have 3 levels & an elevator which I’ve seen has been pretty useful for people carrying their 10 bags of groceries! There’s also a play area for the kids but it’s really nothing to brag about and there’s also a bench and a little setup for BBQ– oh yeah, there is no swimming pool– I guess thats cool? The inside of the apartment is very spacious, well depending on how your furniture is place it could be and if you live on the first level you get a little piece of what you can actually claim as a «back yard» patio. The 2nd&3rd level just get a simple balcony patio which is okay but not as cool as the 1st level(just saying). Rent here also varies– by if you’re on a lease, a month to month payment, or whatever level in the apartment complex you’re living in. The first level pays more than the 2&3 and it gets less expensive as you get to the third level which I believe is $ 950/month, that’s pretty darn affordable. What I really dislike about the complex is the laundry room, there’s like 6 washers and 4 dryers, I’ve waited nearly an hr just to dry my laundry and on top of that I’ve had people take my laundry out of the dryer. I on the other hand will wait patiently until they return and have them remove their laundry, I guess some individuals do not know about respect, I just don’t like people touching my laundry. Another thing I dislike is the parking, street parking is a hassle! First come first serve type of deal but then there’s the option of paying $ 25+ for a second parking space, that’s if it’s available.
