This place has so many delicious food items! I visited San Diego with my family and we had dinner at the cafeteria in this market. Everything was tasty and large portions. The kabab, shawarma, and beef rib were great. I love the BBQ sauce with the ribs. The breads were also good. The only thing I didn’t like about this place was the Knafa. It might have been the most stale and rubbery Knafa I’ve ever had but the food was so great I’ll still give it 4 stars.

Worst customer service experience ! One of the cashiers was acting rude and unprofessional when I asked to split a Payment! And she’s didn’t knew how to fix a problem! And start giving me her attitude and telling me that I have a line behind me ! What a joke??? i am a customer too! We normally shop at that place but now we decided to go els where with better attitude and more professional staff!

Cleanliness issue. The store and carts/baskets look disgusting. I mean a grocery store that sells food items should have a basic cleanliness standard.

If you are looking to be creative or trying different cultural foods this is the place for you. If is not just a grocery store, they have a section to purchase cooked meals as well. They also have a dedicated section strictly for desserts! Yum yum yum. This place was amazing. I think I spent about two hours just OCD’ing mentally thinking about different stuff to cook.

Went here for the first time a few days ago. Had a falafel sandwich that was great, huge, and very reasonably priced. The Turkish Delight in the glass counter at the front of the store is amazing and tons of variety. You can’t get any better if you were in Istanbul… I know because I’ve had people bring it back for me. The food service employees seem a little disorganized at times but not enough for me to scrape a star away. Will definitely be coming back.

I used to love this store but since the new management, I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of produce and poor customer service. The past two times I’ve been there, ALL of the blueberries and blackberries were moldy. I said to the cashier today«oh not sure if you’re aware, but just so you know, the blueberries and blackberries are moldy. Her response was just«I know.» On my last visit, I noticed they charged me more on one item than the displayed sign. I pointed this out to the cashier and she just said«they haven’t updated the signs yet.» I didn’t want to deal with finding a manager but this example helps demonstrate their lack of care.

this place has grown to be my favorite! they have a great deli/dinner thing going, with generous portions of healthy, yummy food! their meat specials and quality surpasses all the neighboring markets(and believe me there are many), their chicken tastes better than the other halal markets around, their price specials are more generous and without the rationing of their competitors. their veggies are decent too, and they have a variety of spices and a friendly staff, i’ve really grown to like them, and they treat me accordingly!

This store is a thrill and a half. Tucked into an obscure Clairemont mall, groceries from everywhere! An halal butcher, super-beautiful produce and dry goods, baked goods – esplly small breads and baklava – to die for! and a very fun deli section. Salads and baba ghanoosh! not to mention their middleeastern steam table offerings. Just go! It’s terrific!

This place is awesome, I live in Esco but will make the trip out here for things I need or haven’t had for a while. This is a great option for lunch but you may want to call in your order, there was a looong wait when I placed my order in store but my food was good and worth the waite! I ordered the Koobideh Kabab plate. lots of food and I would definitely order again, but I have to work my way through menu first. I bought some big ass wheat Tanour breads(really good), big ass olives, honey, found some pitted dates at a great price, organic pomegranate juice, fresh baked little pizza’s & hot pocket type things. think there called sambosa’s and nougat(candy). I’m definitely a fan and will be back!

Update: I want to take a few stars back since they no longer have high quality produce and the staff are not trained well. Check out takes like 15 minutes every time(per cart). I give this market five stars because it is definitely a five-star compared to other Iranian/Arabian stores in the city. Both quality and price are in the satisfactory region. Some quick tips: Get Kookoo Sabzi(or they might call it it Kookook) for only $ 1 per piece. Get the rice sampler for free if you are not familiar with variety of Persian rices, and definitely get the Barbari bread. Also, if you are into weird stuff like lamb head, liver, or even the brain, you can buy them all fresh in this store. Yeah there are flies and bugs everywhere, but as I said, it’s the best this city has to offer.

This place is great. The help is always very helpful and friendly. We are impressed with the halal meat. l’d never heard of it before. The deli/bakery area is great. Today we asked about something we’d never seen before and the immediately gave us samples. We always take some bread home and every variety we’ve had was excellent. They have seating and there always people eating prepared foods from the deli area. They have more samples than Costco!

This place would have gotten a 5 star rating from me had they just done away with their poor excuses for cashiers and switched to a self check out option. Twice now, while I somewhat enjoyed the shopping part of it as well as the products, I had that experience ruined at check out when dealing with a cashier who lacks the skills, the knowledge and training required to perform in a satisfactory way the duties the position entails… And it’s not rocket science, not difficult… 1. It starts with a VERYSIMPLEHELLOANDTHANKYOU. 2. You place the products that a person has paid for in bags with care not just throw them on top of each other even if they don’t belong together. 3. You hand the person the receipt and change not just drop it on the counter without saying anything and move on to the next person. And I say«person» instead of customer because I don’t get the sense that they look at you as such when you’re going out of your way to take your business to them while there are so many other better options out there. Before these new owners took over, that never was an issue because I’ve always had a pleasant experience with all the staff there including the cashiers. I’m not sure if this is how they do things back where they’re from but that’s not how things are done here and I will not be doing much business if any there anymore.

This place is now Harvest International and it’s fantastic! The fresh desserts are amazing, a big case of brick oven baked flatbread pizzas, breads, and excellent deli offerings. Very nice people and great service. A new weekly habit!

I went here today. It has been renovated and now it is very shiny! The place is so clean, the staffs are nice and very friendly. They give you plenty of free samples at the first step you got in there. We ordered combo plate kebab and shawarma. The price is reasonable with a lot of food. The taste is ok. Chicken a bit dry, ground beef is tasty. Saffron rice is good but not A Wow. 99 cents for a samosa! If you live nearby you should check out this re-novate version of them. You will love it!

The girls working here are very nice, and surprisingly remembered me after not stopping by for a very long time. You’ve basically got to know what to get and what not. Speaking for myself, I won’t get anything from the Deli. I usually get delicacies from more busy visited stores to guarantee freshness since I had some bad experiences with chicken slices here. But hey, you can’t complain since it’s mostly specialty food. Big pluses are the bulk foods, their produce and the girls working here. Also, compared to other markets, this one is pretty spacious in lay out as well.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stores is due to the cleanliness of the store. This is the place to go for bulk spices, middle east ingredients, and delicious produce all at a good price. I personally would avoid the meats since they look old and dry. I also do not like that«old meat» smell which is present. This place could really up its game with some elbow grease and all purpose cleaner. Support local business!

Fast food: *****Cornish game hen kabobs with rice and grilled tomatoes and onions. Also comes with side salad all for $ 10.99& this particular combo is restaurant quality! They sometimes substitute chicken breast/thigh meat for the game hen but make sure the marinade is still the same. Their chicken kabob combo for $ 7.99 or $ 0.79-$ 0.99 small ground beef or chicken kabobs does not taste the same… Produce: great prices and weekly sale items. Deli: not that great. Doesn’t seem as fresh and limited selection for deli meat. Just okay variety for cheeses. Meat: Fresh meat at a reasonable price. They also have barrels of nuts, granola, rice etc. things you would find at sprouts so it’s convenient to shop while you wait for food. Unusual spices are also available.

I absolutely love this market. I visited for the first with my dad when I was a kid and they were in North Park. I remember them for having really good bread! I found the Clairemont location last year and went in to check it out. This location is very big and Oh My! I love the deli selection they have– My favorite item is definitely the dolmas, some of the best ones I’ve had in San Diego. I purchased 7 good size dolmas for under $ 2– that would never happen at Sprouts! and they are delicious. I also like their selection of Olives and also very inexpensive. In addition to all these goodies they have a great deal on a variety of produce, peppers, squash and greens. You will also find some harder to find items in the produce section. The spice selection is great they have a lot of Mexican spices which I can appreciate in addition to the Mediterranean goods. Last time I visited I end up with 4 bags of goodies all for under $ 20.

Kaboob is very dry and gross, I did order the sharma previous week and it was better. Their prices are low on produce, I won’t be buying their hot food, nobody liked it, ended up throwing the food away, what a waste, I found another place makes much better kaboob’s new restaurant in north county Mike’s Arabic food 760−231−5321

I shop here constantly. Good prices on produce, most dollar friendly to follow deals. No organic stuff tho, so don’t expect it. I’ve always loved the service deli. Lamb shank plate is my favorite. Pretty much everything they make is delicious. You can sample anything. They’re not idiots. They know most Americans are unfamiliar with middle Eastern food and know that a taste will hook you. And it does. It really does. I’ve walked out so many times with the soup of the day en I only intended produce because I tasted what was a-brewin. Never had trouble with staff. Read a review on here about a boy making it difficult to order a wrap or a kabob, and was deeply surprised by what I read about the staff being pugnacious. Very truly made me doubt the validity of the claim. Always felt like family myself, here. They want you to come back, and they are very customer service oriented.

Just turn around and walk out. It’s okay to do. Sometimes, once you’ve investigated a place a bit, it’s just fine to head back out the door and go somewhere else. It is our right as a consumer. Or you can stupidly remain despite red flags galore knowing that you are in for a very miserable experience. This review is for the deli section only where you can buy prepared meals. I had been recommended the kabobs here by a close family friend, who said they were cheap and delicious. I wandered in yesterday at noon for lunch. I was eager to try somewhere new. I walked up to the counter and ordered a ground beef kabob wrap. The kid working the register actually said«No». Huh? I pointed to the menu right in front of him and said, «Yes. Right here under sandwiches, I want the ground beef kabob wrap.» «Aw man, are you really gonna have me make you a ground beef kabob? Do you know how long that is going to take?» — This is what the kid working the counter actually said to me. No joke. Apparently, despite offering to the public kabobs for sale, the cooking staff at North Park Produce appear to be woefully understaffed, unprepared and complete maroons. «What was prepared that I could order?», I asked, «How about the chicken shawarma sandwich?» The kid fumbled around a bit and said that was something he could prepare. I stood and watched as he pulled out a large metal container filled with pulled chicken pieces. I had no idea how old this chicken was, but I was afraid. I then watched as the kid pulled out a flour tortilla(I guess I am getting a wrap). THEYAREBAKINGFRESHFLATBREADRIGHTTHERE, BUT I AMGETTING A FRIGGIN’ TORTILLA!!! I was left completely speechless. The wrap was a complete disaster. The chicken was burnt to a crisp on a flat top. The vegetables were okay. Instead of a tahini sauce, which is what the menu said it comes with, they plopped in some watery yogurt-based sauce. The whole thing was a disaster and a complete mess. I should have walked out the second the kid said«No» to my initial order. I had plenty of other opportunities to leave, but I held out hope that the mouth-breathers working the grill knew what they were doing. They all appeared to be of middle eastern descent. I cannot imagine any one of them would eat the mess they served to me. STRONGLYAVOID.

During my run/hike through the Tecolote Canyon, I decided to stop and grab a bottle of water. This for me use to be the Lucky’s Grocery store way back in the day and then finally closed down. Inside North Park Produce they have great prices on produce and have a really amazing deli area. Aside from their large assortment of pita breads and meats, they have a interesting pickled veggie section( ). This store seems to be on the clean side, although its a lot smaller now since they partitioned part of it off for Goodwill next door.
