I love Kathy! I needed to do permanent straightening for my hair as it was all curly and frizzy. Kathy was sweet to do a consultation first and she assured me about the process. She was so gentle with my hair and she did an amazing job. If anyone ever wants to get their hair straightened or get a brazilian blowout done — KATHY is your person! Not only is she sweet and kind but she also takes care of doing the job effectively and efficiently. And the price is great too. All said and done — its a great place to go if you want to get your hair done at a good price.

I absolutely love Kathy. The salon is in her home so I can show up in my pajamas and no make-​up if I want to and there’s nobody there to see me but her. It’s a relief from all those salons that seem to put everyone on display. Ugh.
The privacy of an in-​home salon is perfect for me. Kathy is warm and welcoming, and really nice to be around. I feel completely at ease when I’m there.
The conversation is always fun too, although there was one time I was feeling kind of quiet due to a headache so Kathy asked a few questions about what I wanted to do and then just went about doing it in comfortable silence.
She doesn’t try to sell unnecessary products/​services and she’ll answer all your questions honestly, and make suggestions if you ask. She’s also really good about making sure what you want is going to be flattering to you– if it isn’t she’ll explain why she thinks something else would be better.
I’ve been there in dressy clothes, in sweatpants and flip-​flops, I even had to bring my little dog with me a couple of times and Kathy was completely accommodating.
The privacy and personalized attention are very soothing and Kathy is just THE BEST there is. If you have frizzy hair and you need a miracle– she’s the one to go to for a Brazilian blow-​out. Brazilians are really expensive but her prices are *very* competitive and her work is top-​notch.

If there were more stars I would definitely use them. Kathy was so helpful and so so amazing. I called her at 8:30 pm when I landed at the SD airport (i was going to meet friends and needed major help with my hair) and she took me in at 9 pm. When I got to her salon, in her home, she definitely made me feel more then welcome. She offered me drinks, let me change and do my makeup in another room, and was just so kind. I’ve never felt so at home in a hair salon! Furthermore, she did my hair beautifully. She cleaned it, blow dried it, and curled it just as I had asked. It was better than what I expected and I left her salon feeling pretty and confident. If you are in San Diego I would 100% recommend it. I usually live in LA but am making the trip down whenever I need a cut :)
Oh yes, and last thing, I forgot my shorts in her room when I was changing and she mailed them to me! Kathy is the best!

Kathy is the best! I love having my hair permanently straightened (Japanese straightening style), but have a hard time finding someone in San Diego who does this. Kathy does!!! :) She uses CHI Transformation systems to do the permanent straightening and it’s great. Really high quality product and she does a great job. It’s completely permanently straight. I only have to have it done about once a year for regrowth.
She also cuts my hair and uses several different techniques to get it just right. I have really thick hair and when I’ve gone to people in the past they’ve left it choppy. After Kathy cuts it it’s gorgeous and «flows» so well. She really is an expert at what she does.
She also does my manicures and pedicures. She does the Shellac treatment… again, almost permanent. Well as permanent as nail polish can be. I literally MUST take it off once it grows out, as this stuff doesn’t chip or crack. It’s so awesome. I love going to the beach and of course have to do all the cooking and cleaning in my house, so I need nail color that lasts.
