We ordered one vegetable kurma thali and shahi paneer, naan basket, dal and roti. The food was delicious. The kheer, cheese naan and shahi paneer were especially really tasty. The service was really good and quick even though we had a late lunch post 3 pm. They have a sit down seating too as an option that gives a very homely feel and free samosas on Unilocal check-in! :) :D

Excellent service! Excellent FOOD! Friendly environment. Great location. Come early and get the lunch platter… It’s the best bang for your buck. Me and my lady got the chicken curry and the chicken nirvana. Delicious! This is our new Indian spot in San Diego. We will be back!

We were visiting for a few days and was in search for some Indian food since my kids were missing homemade food we decided to come here. We had lamb and chicken tikka masala. There was no flavor and we all ended up sick that very night. Customer service was friendly but the food needs some more flavoring and not taste like it a frozen dinner just heated up.

What a lovely surprise in downtown San Diego. An Indian restaurant with reasonable prices. Delicious Indian fare cooked fresh to order. Our wait was approximately 10 to 15 minutes. A variety of dishes served on a platter. My main dish was tikki chicken. Best tasting chicken I have ever had. It consisted of four 2 to 3 oz chunks of chicken breast. The other dishes complemented the main dish. Spicy vegetable and potatoes, basmati rice, salad, samosa, and naan. The service was friendly and attentive. Looking forward to future meals.

I went here with a group of six(including myself) for a late lunch. Obviously, the food prep time is going to go up when you’re in an unannounced big group, but they brought us all our food at the exact same time which I thought was nice. I ordered the lunch vegetable Korma and it was so good! It wasn’t too spicy but had a nice little kick to it that really helped wake me up out of my afternoon slump. The naan with our lunch was light and easy to tear which made it great for sharing. Everyone enjoyed their food and by the end of it we had all agreed that deciding to get Indian food was a great choice. The waiter was extremely kind too. He was very patient with us while we ordered and made sure we had enough water to go around. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

My partner and I came during lunchtime for my birthday. We had two vegetarian dishes that were both delicious. We were already raving about the meal, but our jaws hit the floor when we received the bill as it was so affordable. We will definitely be back!!!

I had lunch at Gourmet India today and really enjoyed my masala chai! I ordered one with my lunch special which is a full platter with rice different sauces, naan, a dumpling and my choice of curry! My friends and I decided to stay a little longer after our meal because we had very comfortable seating and also we got very full. The server brought me another chai on the house while we lounged! Can’t wait till next Saturday to enjoy another platter for lunch:)

One of THE worst indian restaurant. The portion of food was very less compared to price but even then, food just didnt taste any good. I, including my friends became sick for few days after eating there. I would have given negative rating if I could. Will never go there and never recommend to anyone else !!!

Went here for dinner with the wife and we really like the place. We stopped one time before just for a quick drink and they were very friendly and cheery. This time was no exception. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was truly amazing. The wife had the tandoori chicken, now I will say that the menu says it’s ½ a chicken. I envisioned literally half of a roasted chicken on a plate [as I’m from Oklahoma this doesn’t seem odd at all to me], but it’s actually more like 6 chicken wings/thighs from a Cornish game hen. So that is what to expect on that dish. I ordered the Nirvana which is a coconut milk based curry and it was divine. I got the extra spicy and was told that it was a 10 on their scale, I personally regarded it as about a 4 – 5 on the spicy scale. It was absolutely delicious! The Basmati rice was also just perfect, we killed 2 bowls of it. I tried a Flying Horse beer which was also really great as well. The appetizer we had was the lamb stuffed naan, also amazing with the apricot jam they serve with it. This place is excellent for Indian food. Everything is made fresh on demand and does not come from a huge vat, except the rice that is which is totally understandable. We will definitely go back. Look for the happy hour specials they are worth a trip over here.

We were walking by and asked for directions when we smelled the amazing scents. It was mouth watering. We had lamb Masala and chicken vindaloo plus an appetizer that was to die for plus we got two glasses of wine that were more like goblets of wine. Great service and the food was delish. The place had a great ambiance and is close to everything.

Idk how this place has decent reviews. Literally the worst Indian food I’ve ever had. I ordered chicken tikka masala and it was not even chicken tikka masala. It was dry chicken with like vegetables? Waste of money. Would never eat here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place for lunch. My eating partner got a lunch platter and I opted for a regular dinner portion. I got the dinner portion because I am testing a gluten free diet right now. Their menu marks entrees that are gluten free, however, you don’t know if any of the chutney or other sauces are GF. Also, naan and samosas, etc, are not gluten free. So, in my opinion, it doesn’t make sense to get a lunch platter since you won’t be able to eat 1⁄3 of it, since it includes a samosa and naan. That said, we thought our entrees were quite tasty! My eating partner’s lunch platter was a good value. It was around $ 10 – 11 for rice, naan, samosa, chutney, a tiny bowl of rice pudding, and a choice of entrée. The entrees weren’t the best Indian food we’ve ever had, but it was ok. I’d come back for lunch(if you aren’t GF), but dinner prices are higher, around $ 14 – 17 for entrees.

Came here during comic con this weekend and had a yummy lunch! Did a Unilocal check in and got 2 samosas, both cooked perfectly. For lunch I had chicken curry w/sag paneer thali(combo feast for 1). Customer service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. He was on point refilling our waters as well as offering us rice and naan when he noticed we were running low. The only thing that was a bummer was the cost: $ 22.95 per combo thali. I have had the same amount of food for much cheaper in Los Angeles but I’m not surprised at the cost since the location is in downtown SD. You are definitely paying for the location. Despite the price my friends and I were happy about the excellent service.
