Glenn Matanza has been my personal trainer for the past few months, and he is the best trainer anyone can ask for. Glenn does more than just help you train, he looks at your diet and nutrition levels to ensure they are adequate, so that you are maximizing your efforts. Glenn helped me prepare for ACL reconstruction surgery, which I had 10 days ago. I am recovering well, and that is in large part due to the working out I had done pre-​surgery with Glenn. We came upon Glenn Matanza by accident. I had signed up for a sprint triathlon and stopped by Glorietta Bay to show my daughter where I intended to practice for the upcoming race. I am a pathetic swimmer but love to bike and run so I was looking at the water with trepidation when Glenn came over and introduced himself, asking if we were triathletes. I explained my swimming issues and Glenn offered to meet me for a private session. That was about 4 weeks ago and since that time he has been a miracle worker for my swim stroke and has also proven himself a fabulous coach for my running. He is enthusiastic and positive and it is impossible not to like him and try to do better. I introduced him to my boyfriend, who aspires to do an ironman but was completely intimidated by the open water. During his first session I was very worried as my bf looked panicked when he first got in the water. by the end of the session he was swimming, though taking several breaks to get his breath. Now, 3 weeks later, we both completed our sprint triathlons and he is swimming confidently and without stopping… ironman here he comes! Next I introduced Glenn to my reluctant teenage daughter who originally said she would never do a triathlon. Seeing my enthusiasm she decided to come to a swim practice. After the first group session she was hooked. She said the group swims and track practices are the highlight of her week and she can’t wait to get to them! Glenn has completed several ironman triathlons, half ironman, and a variety of different length races. His best asset is his enthusiasm and energy, which is infectious! He also has several incredible trainers working with him including Jackie, an amazing swimming instructor, and his wife Nike, who has started working with my daughter on her running technique.
