French Twist

I used to go to Chansone in Stockton a couple years back when she used to live there. Since she has left, I can’t find anyone that can match her work! I’m finally in San Diego on a family trip and I was so glad I got to see her! My hair turned out exactly how I imagined. She works fast yet efficiently. It’s so hard to find someone you can trust with your hair. I might have to make a trip down to San Diego more often for my touch ups!

I started seen Chansone since 2003, she is the only hairstylist I trust. She always does a phenomenal job, she is always up to date with the styles. I recommend her to all, you are in good hands with her. Even with her busy schedule she will squeeze you in to keep her customers happy. Very professional, very classy and her customer skills are always great! She will greet you always with a smile.

Chansone is always friendly and available. She is always current on the latest styles. An amazing job every time!

Chansone runs a great salon, been coming for over a year. She is attentive, courteous and provides a great experience. It takes a lot to go out on your own in a competitive downtown business environment (she started cutting my hair at another salon) and she has the drive to be successful.
Will definitely continue to return to French Twist Salon!

Chansone is amazing! I finally branched out and left my old hairstylist after several years of feeling like my hair always looked blah on a recommendation from a friend. I have never been so happy that I made a change! My hair always looks and feels great when I leave and I am always happy with the cut and color. It’s always hard to find someone who can do great blond highlights without making you too blond or dark and give your hair depth and body. Chansone is also super flexible and always makes it work with my crazy schedule which is more than appreciated. I’ve been coming here for about a year now and kick myself that i’m just barely writing a review. If you want a no nonsense stylist with a fantastic personality who always listens to you and gives you a great style then this is your place!

Chansone knows exactly what you want. I always recommend her to friends looking for a good quality cut.

I highly recommend French twist salon! Chansone has been coloring, cutting and styling my hair for over a year and she’s awesome! I live downtown but even if I didn’t it would be worth the drive! I never write reviews but when someone does this good of a job I feel compelled to.

I feel so lucky to have found this spot! Chansone is excellent! She does beautiful cuts and color and even better is personable and easy to talk to. I always leave refreshed and so happy with my hair — it is the best color I have gotten in San Diego. I actually drive a fair distance to come downtown and it is totally worth it!

Awesome place! Came here on the fly. Was staying at the Marriott Marque and Marina hotel for work. Made an appt in the morning, for around lunch. Arrived early, Carole was still able to take me upon arrival. She did an amazing job, I LOVE my shellac. Go to French Twist, see Carole, she’s amazing :)

I found this little gem of a salon a year ago I have been coming back ever since! Chansone is the owner & the bomb! She knows hair and she knows color! My hair is perfect every time! You can’t go wrong with this salon or Chansone!

Love Chansone! My hair is growing so fast now and she is always available when I need her. A real gem!

So, I decided to treat myself and get a manicure, and I haven’t had one in a while. I went into the French Twist and had a wonderful young manicurist name Hannah work with me. My nails were awful, since I work on computers all day. She went straight to work. We talked as she worked on my nails and he’s very easy to talk to. The nail work turned out great and her massage and music almost put me to sleep. I will definitely be back for a manicure, or maybe a pedicure.
Thank Hannah you are the best I will be back!

NEVER EVER EVER COME HERE! EVER!
We were apart of a wedding in SD and needed to get our nails done before the wedding. Our hotel recommended this spot. We had every intention to like this place however…
They cut our nails way too short
They trimmed my cuticles too much to where my flesh was partially exposed
They were very rough on our feet and not in a good way
The paint job was mediocre, chipped within 2 days.
To top it off they charged us $ 100 for mani pedi when it was suppose to be $ 65 (the chalkboard sign on the door). When we confronted them they said the sign is not up to date. Really? It’s written in chalk!
You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Today I wanted to get a Simple wash, dry and curl for an Event happening later tonight. I picked this place because of its location to my hotel and the High reviews.
When I arrived I was shampooed by a 23 year old hairdresser –she told me her age. She then proceeds to dry my hair– which was going fine. Then I pulled out my phone to to show her exactly how I wanted my hair styled. She said ok then the owner came over and tried to explain to her how she should do it?!
This concerned me so I asked how long has she been doing hair and she said «since I was a teen curling my own hair? «but she was also a babysitter too.
I noticed my bangs weren’t being styled correctly. I liked side swept bangs. She kept curing them the wrong way and then could not figure out how it use the iron. The owner had to come over three times to try and help her. I nicely explained that a round iron not a flat one. She ignored me. Then all of a sudden small clunks of hair kept falling down in my lap. I got a little concerned! I looked up and turned towards to mirror and noticed over half of my bangs were burnt off and now sticking straight up! I have thin hair to begin with and now my bangs look horrible. I gasped and said «my bangs are gone at the roots! «She said, «no?» and I pointed to the floor with all my hair and she tried to say — «I didn’t sweep before you» as I stood up the hair on my lap feel to the ground and I said «well this hair that Is falling to the ground IS MINE! CASE IN POINT K — I didn’t get a haircut — only a Style and there was no hair on the floor when I first arrived.
I went to the bathroom to cool off and when I came out nobody would talk to me and the owner just mouthed «just go» and waved goodbye.
I left stunned .
I think I now need to buy clip on bangs?!
Sheesh. Not my day for sure.
FYI I hardly ever had experienced anything like this before.

I’ve been coming to French Twist for at least two years now and since day one have always been treated exceptionally by Carol. She is a true professional and will make sure you 100% satisfied with your services. She uses sanitary foot baths with disposable liners and gives a killer hand and foot massage! I constantly get compliments on my nails, thank you Carol!

So first off let me start by saying I rarely get my hair done. I usually get just a trim or layers and have only gotten an ombré once before this time. So I had just moved to San Diego, didn’t know where to go all I knew was that I wanted an ombré. I researched on Unilocal because this was going to be a treat for me. After doing my research I decided to go with this salon mainly because so many other girls have gotten their ombrés done by Chansone (sp?) and were very pleased.
I called the same day and made an appointment for later that day. Chanson not only did an amazing job, but spent maybe 4 hours making it look perfect. It was the more complicated ombré where she needed to scrunch my hair up and dye the other half-​obviously I have no idea how to do ombrés– but it was the complicated more detailed ombré that I picked which took the long time.
She was super nice offered refreshments and helped me with my lack of knowledge of hair up– keep and styling. She is the ombré queen and I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for perfection!!! Thank you!

I have been looking for a good stylist in San Diego for years!!! Chansone here is sooo incredibly talented! She gave me very honest, professional advice and made my hair looking beautiful and fit my image! Super friendly and fun atmosphere! I am definitely coming back!!;)

This place is fantatsic!!! I was visiting from nyc and get my hair done all the time by Chansone at this Salon was amazzzzzing. Felt like a movie star and totally reasonably priced.

I got my first ever pedicure here, so I don’t really have a frame of reference for how they were compared to other salons. But I CAN say that it was a great experience. (A week later my toes still feel amazingly clean).
Gentlemen, this is a great, judgment-​free place for dude pedicures. I’ll be back!

Chansone is God send !! I was so close to cutting my head off after the salon I previously went to turned me and my head into a walking disaster, but Now I can finally show it off once again! Chansone was very friendly and professional stylist. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but she was so great at helping me figure it out. My ombré looks amazing and as legit as can be ! The blend on my ombré is perfect!!! Thank you French twist !!! I highly recommend them and most of all Chansone if you want someone who is so dialed when it comes to what they do.
