Came in today to buy some tortillas a quick in and out. Their meat prices look pretty decent. We found the tortillas and they were actually still warm and fresh. Not a lot of people, so the lines were quick. They were blasting Mexican music through speakers. I was a bit offended that the cashier never looked up at us, not even to say hello. Both cashiers were named«Angelica» which was unique. They also have added the check cashing place that was next door into the store. This place is not bad, just remember the dusk rule. Come here during the day time.

Took a risk in trying a different grocery store… NOPE! Conveniently this store is nearby… however, does not carry the majority of the things I shop for. Don’t get me wrong there are a few things I can get… but I can get it at any other grocery store, and for a bit cheaper too. That was another thing I had noticed; prices were a bit higher than the standand VONS, Albertsons and even Ralphs. The floor(including displays) was clean, but the organization was a bit random during my visit. Some of the items seemed to be put on the floor because there is so much in stock. As for stock, when I went in there the packaged meats were completely stocked. Now that is great that there is stock… but…every grocery store I have been to, has some pre-packed meats on display. Having all the pre-packed meat displays full tells me no one is buying the pre-packed meats. There is a bucher with a better variety of meats, so I can assume most customers just buy that instead. I did get some sour cream here.(Daisy brand. The Mexican sour cream was about 180% more.) When I had opened it I could see a familiar sight that tells me the sour cream had been sitting on the shelf for a little bit. When there is a puddle of water residing above the sour cream that is an indicator that the sour cream is a bit aged, not expired, just aged a bit. Place had a few customers. Similar to what I see at a 7-Eleven or other liquor stores. (-)(-) CUSTOMERSERVICE was awkward/horrible. If you are a cashier with their«open lane» light on… why leave the checkstand when a customer is checking out? To go work the floor and rearrange display stands? Really? I am not here to waste my time. As for the checkstand that was open, the cashier made little to none effort to acknowledge me. More of «you have been through this process before. Just swipe your card when you are ready.» LOCATION: Ok for some. Does not take much to get to if getting of the 94 freeway onto Euclid North PRICES: Can be beat by other competitors(Alberstons, VONS, Ralphs) VARIETY: The refrigerated items(cheese, eggs, etc.) was great and the butcher meats were great. But when it came to other cooking such as baking, or being custom… this store fell short on those items. There are a few cleaning supplies. Variety of more quality brands would minimize my shopping run around. PARKING: private parking lot is a good size. Do not see an issue with parking here.

As far as supermarkets go this one is pretty complete. Some of the fresh fruits and vegetables are hit or miss depending on the season but overall the prices are reasonable, cashiers are friendly but slow, and the store is organized and tidy. They have a nice meat/butcher department with a good selection of beef cuts, pork, chicken and more. They carry products I am familiar with and some I am not because of the diverse community and supply/demand. This is a good thing because now I can try new foods and explore new ways to prepare them. There is plenty of parking. And, they offer a stamp savings program. The more you purchase the more stamps you collect which you can then use to purchase more products(see Foodland for details).

I stopped in this Foodland since I was cruising through the area to pick up some sweet potatoes, avocados, garlic, and white onions. They had everything I needed and then some. The sweet potatoes were only .50 per pound, which was a steal because all the supermarkets had them around $ 1.29 per pound( ). The Avocados were on the small side, a the perfect size to eat part of a meal, so I picked up six for $ 2.40( ). The white onions were on sale, so scored there, and the fresh garlic was very inexpensive as well( ). Great prices… The store sport a butcher department, with many cuts of meats and odd ones you do see very often too( ). The guys at this department were quite funny I may add. No need to get into any details, but you can only imagine. Also the young girl at the register was very nice and she came me some tips on the best times to come for fresh tortilla: early that is because all the good ones where gone by the evening. Hooray for the land of food!
