Love their ceviche both the fish and shrimp! Also for those who cannot eat uncooked shellfish they have an awesome cooked shrimp ceviche. Knocked down a star for a few bad experiences. We’ve received spoiled sour crème and salsas in to go orders. Staff performance is inconsistent, we have our favorites and typically request to be served by them. Oh and happy hour is awesome! Beer is 2×1 and there’s several app options.

Ordered the shrimp ceviche and agua chiles and both were tasty. Definitely need to come back for fish tacos as I saw many people ordering those. Came here on a Friday and this place was packed and had a man singing live ranchera music. Note, you will need to speak Spanish to order food or you can point to the menu because no one that I encountered spoke English. Now that’s how you know you’re getting authentic Mexican style seafood.

Last review was 3 years ago. The business has grown since our last visit. More seating, a/c, and the food is still amazing. The flavor on the spicy shrimp tacos is delicious. They are the perfect shrimp taco. You have to take a few bites of the taco before you fold it into a taco– which is the way it should be done :) The lemonade drink is huge and oh so good. There was live entertainment and the waitresses were so sweet and helpful. It is so nice to see such a great place grow. This is a must stop place when visiting San Diego. My husband says it is his all-time favorite place to eat!

I have been coming here for years!!! The food is so delicious and at a really good price. Love everything that they make. The tacos de Camaron enchilado are so good and there fish tacos are so good at an unbeatable price! If you are in the south area of San Diego I definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. Staff and owner are always friendly as well. Love Fish Mart!

I had the smoked tuna taco. It was grilled and it was pretty good. But the garlic octopus taco was absolutely to die for. I really would love to have a few more of those! Yay.

Horrible service. I have given this place several tries and have constantly been let down. I will not be going back. Our food took forever to get to our table and one of the things I ordered was overlooked and wasn’t even brought over. I had to ask the cashier to remove that item from my bill as we never got it. Tonight was the last time I get disappointed with this place.

When this place opened the food and service was amazing… what Happened!!! I knew it was getting bad but I kept giving it try’s because YES the fish tacos are good. But the final straw was when I recently took my in laws here to eat and the server completely forgot about us– he got irritated when we mentioned we had been waiting for quite a while and then he became RUDE with my sister in law who has special needs! I got up to talk to the hostess about our service and while I was taking to her I looked to my right and he was mimicking me to another waiter!!! Appalling and disgusting. This place has gone down hill. I wish I could give it NEGATIVE1 stars.

I live close by to this place and I’m glad this is here because I don’t have to go far to eat some fresh Mexican Seafood. The staff members are friendly and are very knowledgeable about their own menu. I usually order a couple fish tacos, a Gobernador taco, which has cheese and shrimp, it’s so good. I would also order a fish or shrimp tostada as well. I wish I had another stomach so I could eat some more. Their Micheladas are awesome, the beer is never flat and the flavor is always there. Oh and the tamarindo drink is so good, you don’t want to go back to drinking the syrup and water mixed version again. While waiting for your order, they give you a cup of complimentary seafood soup. Also give you a large order of fresh tortilla chips and salsa. Come and check this place out!

1.10.16: On a random trip to Fish Mart, I wasn’t sure what to expect. We got free soup which is always nice to get free stuff and of course the chips and slasa that we couldn’t stop eating. The place is definitely cheap. I wouldn’t say it’s the best I ever had in terms of fish tacos. I decided to get the grill fish taco and it was covered in mostly sauce. Maybe next time I’ll ask for the sauce on the side. Their Mango margarita was just mango icee, definitely no alcohol in there. My all time favorite thing is their ceviche. I ordered the octopus ceviche and although I wished there was something else in there as in scallops or something, it was still good. Super big amount of Octopus. The seasoning was perfect just the amount of lemon ratio to hot sauce. I actually added more hot sauce just to test out all the bottles on the table. Pretty cheap fried fish tacos at 1.50 and delicious ceviche. What else can you ask for?

Yum! What a great little place. Actually not so little because they expanded. It’s very clean and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. I got the special ceviche. Shrimp, octopus and peppers. Had avocado. So good! My coworker got the fish tacos and there’s wasn’t a grain of rice left on his plate. They have cocktails too. I wish I could’ve gotten them. Apparently they open a bar area during the weekend. They serve pina coladas! u

Lunch on a Saturday afternoon Overall it was a good experience. Good ambience, servers were nice and friendly. The only problem was my kids fish tacos came almost 10 minutes after my plate was served. So by the time I ate my Camarones ala diabla they were a little cold but still delicious.

Prepare to get stuffed after your meal here. Between the complimentary soup, the chips&salsa, cheap fish tacos and tostadas… My friends and I were super full! My favorite dishes at this place was their complimentary seafood soups, their ceviches, and the mango margarita. Didn’t have dessert. I was not a fan of their fried fish tacos. They were cheap at 1.50 each during HH3 – 8, and the fish Itself was decent, but they breaded it in some donut-like batter, without the crunch. Tacos had Standard shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, some melted white cheese at the bottom, corn tortilla that was kinda doughy, topped with a white and cilantro sauce. Not much flavor, so hot sauce is recommended. The same with the octopus tacos… Octopus tasted boiled, and there was a lot of it, so It was kinda weird… My shrimp aguachile was on point though. Good amount of shrimp in a Spicy, delicious in aguachile that’s wasn’t too sour. The good thing is, they don’t skimp out on the seafood servings, so it was definitely fulfilling. Plenty of options on the menu and additional items on the wall/Windows. It’s a quick and easy place to visit with easy parking. Better fish tacos spots in San Ysidro but other great select items off the menu. No problems with service-they were friendly and fast, but it wasn’t too busy either at that hour either. Families started coming in as we were leaving. Good spot. I’ll probably be back if I find myself in San Ysidro again.

Very delicious. Tad«expensive» than typical Mexican food joints but you do get a big portion of food. Sauce is on spicier side.

Oh man. I’m telling ya, San Diego has the best tacos I’ve ever had. Beats the ones I’ve had in the east coast. Had the shrimp and fish taco. Started off with a complementary soup. Thought it’d be canned generic stuff, but this stuff is good!!! Pretty spicy so don’t be inhaling like cray like I did. The tacos here are huge portions! Very very filling with generous amounts of fish and shrimp. A lot of flavors bursting through and very creamy. The price is also very cheap for the amount you get. Which I thought was awesome!!! I’d def come back here for some more.

This place is a standard in my lunchtime rotation. Fish Mart has great service and lots of seating(both inside and out). When you sit down, expect to be greeted with chips, salsa, and a cup of caldo right away(all complimentary). The caldo is a delicious fish broth with great flavor! The fish tacos are huge and reasonably priced(the fried fish tacos are only $ 1.50), with all the fixins a fish taco should have: crema, avocado crema, cabbage, pico. If you’re looking for something a bit different, try the shrimp enchilado taco. Not too spicy and hugely filling. They also offer a variety of other tacos, tostadas, and ceviches to meet your mariscos needs! This is definitely my go to fish taco spot!

As good as it gets! In my top 3 mariscos experiences. Love everything about this place. They’re busy and handle it with style. The menu comes out with a basket of chips and cup of limes. Great sign even though they forgot the salsa. The menu is jammed packed with amazing dishes. I could order anything off the menu and be excited and happy. Should of asked the server what was her favorite. Run with 2 marlin tacos, Fish Mart(everything) tostada and a Negra Modelo. Beer comes out with soup. Negra Modela with a fresh lime makes me happy every time. The best with mariscos. The soup is beyond delicious. Love the simplicity, spiciness and fresh ingredients. Love that they eye ball a handful of onions and cilantro and add it at the soup station. Break up a few chips, squeeze a couple limes and add a few dashes of hot sauce and this cup is packing a mega punch of flavors. Couldn’t get enough soup. Heavily stacked tostada hits the table. Looks beautiful. What a deal. Love the tart citrus and fresh seafood. It has skrimps, octopus, fish, avocado, onions, tomatoes garnished with cilantro. Beautiful dish done perfectly. Tacos come out and I’m beyond excited seeing the grill marks on the tortillas, sliced avocado on them and the beautiful color of the marlin with melted cheese within it. These are serious tacos. Cut up the avocado squeeze a few limes in with a few dashes of hot sauce and it will make anyone week at the knees. If you love mariscos, Fish Mart is a must try. I could eat here every day. Coming back soon for happy hour. Big full warm belly feeling giddy walking out of this place. Might be the closest thing to a natural high I’ve had. Huge fan.

The BF and I had to run an errand in Chula Vista today. We are rarely ever in the area, so we jumped at the chance to eat some delicious Mexican food. Not having any clue of where we wanted to go, a quick search from Unilocal led us to Fish Mart in San Ysidro. As soon as we sat down, a basket of chips, salsa, and cups of broth were set on our table. The salsa was quite bland, but having the chips was nice to munch on while waiting so I appreciate it. The cup of fish broth was really nice. It was like a spicy, Mexican version of dashi with pieces of onion and cilantro in it. I ordered the mango margarita and out came a HUGE cup of alcoholic mango slush, glass rimmed with spices. If you’ve ever had a chamango, you must order this drink! The BF had a michelada with clamato. It was quite good as well, not too clammy. The first to come out was the Fish Mart tostada, which had everything on it. It was piled high! Definitely not a puny tostada. Everything tasted fresh and was well seasoned. Then came the taco gobernador. It was a nice shrimp taco with a lot of cheese(can’t go wrong) on top of some very delicious rice. The campechana cocktail was quite refreshing. Although it had many gigantic pieces of seafood, I felt the sauce was a little lacking in flavor. The pièce de résistance was the taco de pulpo enchilado, spicy octopus taco. Spicy, savory, and tender octopus with fresh veggies, cheese and creamy sauce on top. This might have been the best taco I’ve have in my life thus far. It was so good that we ordered another one even though we were super full. And as if we didn’t have enough octopus tacos bulging out of our bellies, we reminisced about it in the car on the way home… Get it :).

This is one of our favorite places to eat after visiting the outlets. The prices aren’t quite as cheap as you might find in more hole-in-the-wall places, but they are still totally affordable. There was only one guy working the whole restaurant and he was the man! He moved around quickly with no sign of stress or overwhelm. He was awesome. I got the fish ceviche tostadas and enjoyed every bite of the fresh deliciousness. My eating partner had the octopus and shrimp ceviche tostada. The fish tacos were ok, not great. The rice and beans were just ok, too. We got free soup and chips, which was nice.
