Epic Catering

Outstanding food and wait staff. The catering of our daughters wedding at Zlac Rowing club was seamless. We drove a hard bargain but Lisa came through with lots of extras and great advice for our event. We didn’t have the best response time to our e mails but were very pleased with the end results. The hors d’oeuvres choices were incredible. Ask about her enchiladas.

I hired Lisa at Epic to cater my husband’s surprise 50^th Birthday in June.
My original vision was to do it as inexpensively as I possibly could. I booked ZLAC, a rowing clubhouse on MIssion Bay near the Catamaran Resort — which was such a perfect place to have the party. I wanted to have a taco guy and a keg. I was disappointed to learn I could not have a taco guy. I had to go with one of ZLAC’s preferred caterers. So I guess I had to throw a grown-​up party!
I went with Lisa because her quote was very reasonable, but also because I really liked her and she was a fellow OB resident. I could not have been happier. She pretty much did EVERYTHING for my party. She was flexible as my guest list ballooned. She offered lots of advice on keeping my costs down. She helped me with lots of ideas for decorations and special touches (she provided things like Tiki guys free of charge). We went with Hawaiian BBQ theme and everyone raved about the food. It was delicious. Not like banquet party food which usually sucks. She made an awesome spicy macaroni salad that I loved. And Mai Tai punch that was so good.
Before the party Lisa helped me pick out my wine at Trader Joe’s. We had a great time. I felt like she was a friend helping me throw a great party. The whole menu was fantastic. She delivered on every promise and she and her entire staff were warm, friendly and fun. And they were hard working and competent too. They did all the set up and clean up and were on time and fabulous. We will never forget how amazing the party was, in large part because of what Lisa and her awesome team did. My husband was very surprised and very very happy.
Also I have to say the person who gave one star for a road rage incident (and I don’t believe it happened the way he says it did, because every member of Lisa’s staff was very courteous at my event) has no business posting a review here. If you are not commenting on the performance of the caterer at an event that you hosted or attended, then save us your road rage blather. I read that review when I was considering hiring Lisa. I’m so glad I paid no attention to it.

Wow… The food and presentation was amazing! Lisa and her team provided full catering for my rehearsal dinner… had I met them sooner I would have had them do my wedding too! Everything was wonderful… we had everything from an ahi poki appetizer and home made NY style meatballs to the freshest grilled halibut! I highly recommend this catering company and cant wait to plan my next party with them!!!

I was very happy with the work these folks did for a party for my Dad’s birthday. It was very easy to work with them and the food was great!

One star for an employee driving an Epic Catering van who was extremely discourteous and unprofessional. This older female employee cussed out my pregnant wife while fueling at a local gas station in OB. An employee driving a company vehicle should know that such crude acts reflect poorly on the company they work for. I will definitely not recommend or use Epic Catering for any future service.

Lisa at Epic is a joy to work with, she was the caterer for our wedding. She helped us from start to finish, going above and beyond what would be expected from a caterer. Her food was delicious and the presentation was amazing, all of our guests were raving about how good it was. She was great to work with and took a lot of stress out of our big day! We highly suggest using Lisa for any of your catering needs.
