It was a night of a thousand ellipses. As in, we started at Moonshine Flats for some line dancing… and then… and then… and…and… Being a novice to a pub crawl, I had no idea what would happen when we would hit up four bars in just two hours, each serving craft cocktails or beer. Blueberry-basil lemonade at Southpaw Social Club, mule at Bub’s, Piñata Punch and Horchata Bombs at Blind Burro to name a few. I’m just glad I declined to take a barber chair shot upon entering Moonshine Flats because then we would have had a lot more ellipses in the night… The ahi tostada at Cat Eye Club took the cake for best food item of the night, and Blind Burro’s jicama taco was the perfect refreshment at the end of the night. Perhaps the best treat though was our swag — our 2014 Unilocal Elite Towels! I was so excited I proposed to trek it around with me on my Europe trip, using the hash tag #yelpelitetowel(look for my photos soon on Instagram!). All the Elites were divided into four groups that had timeslots at each of our destinations and Brad B’s assistant Estefany, our group leader, kept us on schedule while still giving us time to socialize within our groups and also with the groups as we crossed paths. This was by far my favorite Elite event of 2014 so far. I had some of the best conversations and interactions with my fellow Elites, as the usual shy professionalism was gone as the evening wore on I didn’t even use up all my drink tickets and many others didn’t either! I loved hopping across multiple stops and that we weren’t keeping to our usual Elite circles. Having plus-ones definitely added to the extra-social atmosphere. When the event was over, the walls broke down even further as groups meshed and I really got to know people a lot better. I felt like it was a giant Elite lovefest on that magical night we had at 7th and J.
