Carne Asada burrito and rolled tacos. Left me immediately sick and vomited about 6 times. Then went to the ER for 3 hours at 3:30 in the morning. I would avoid this place ATALLCOSTS.

WHAT A DUMP! Against my better judgement, I joined a friend who ate here once before and indicated he thought it was OK. NOT! Dirty tables, surly employees, lousy food! I ordered a burrito grande. I could not eat much of the greasy, half-cooked flied egg, tasteless refried beans and … get this … soggy french fries as the potato ingredient! Thankfully, I did not get sick. I took a cell-phone shot to show this disgusting thing:

Found this place near Scripps Mercy Hospital. I have been here before, years ago when my sister worked near the area but it was a different name. Service: Smiling faces and kind people. Attentive to me and patient(because I’m indecisive.) Area: Spacious. Clean. Food(MOST Important): I love Mexican food so I was excited to try the Laz Paz burrito! Surf and turf! The blend of shrimp, carne asada, rice, and the avocado salsa… SOOOGOOD!

Terrible service!!! Can’t make a simple drivethru order. But if I come back, they’ll remake my order! Get it right the first time dumbasses!

My go to order is the La Paz Burrito. Carne Asada and shrimp… yum. I’ve had the fish tacos and the carne Asada fries before. Fish tacos-good, Carne Asada Fries-not so good. The fries don’t come out crispy at all, just a soggy mess. Everything else I’ve had is great but not the fries.

I’ve been coming here for years! It used to be called Santana’s then it was called Fresh MXN. It’s still the same as it was when it was Santana’s. Delicious! I always get a large carne asada burrito combo. You get the burrito, rice, beans, chips & a drink for a little over $ 9. I have been to a couple other places, but this place by far is the best! I love their food & the people are always nice & welcoming. I’ve also visited their Point Loma location & it tastes the same & the people are nice there as well. You can’t go wrong!

Fucking rude. I was having a problem both being heard and ordering and after being asked about five times what I wanted I decided to drive up to tell them. When I explain, instead of this guy apologizing for how shitty the mic is he glares at me through my window with the most dogshit look like I’m the idiot. Maybe try having the window on the fucking drivers side and your customers won’t struggle to order food. I’ll pass next time.

11:30pm Thursday, Feb 25th. Two hard shell tacos and one horchata… Slooowest service ever. Yeah, you stock those cups! while we wait forever at the window. Your sense of urgency is greatly appreciated.

Second time here Very bad service. I ordered a burrito, and 20 minutes later they gave me a wrong one. The worst thing is that they refused to exchange the correct one to me. Will never come back again

Had a really bad salty carne asada burrito here last night. It had tiny pieces of cold salty meat, wilted lettuce and guacamole. There didn’t appear to be any salsa in the burrito. I asked for sour cream and the sour cream was lumped into one end of the burrito, so I had a bite of just sour cream. I asked for green salsa and the bag had about 10 little containers of red salsa. and I even tipped the guy at the drive thru. Sadly, the taco shop just down the street to the east is just as bad with their carne asada burritos.

Unfortunately there’s not a «zero star» If anyone knows the girl who works weeknights at Hillcrest MXN, inform her that she is awful. Four strikes and you’re out. Literally everything we asked to not have on it or on the side and a half ass helping of chips on the side with the sour-cream we asked to be left out. Also, the pico de gallo we asked to not have. Keep in mind, if you ask for something not on it and she says«where?» acting like it’s not even included, reiterate yourself . You can go wrong Very wrong

Our favorite spot to stop by after drinking… I introduced my friends to this place to try their California Burrito, I have tried many places but this is the best! Fresh and Good They also open 24 hrs (Cali with no mex salsa, add sour cream) +add salsa verde and Chilanga

As I’m going through other Unilocaler reviews, I’m going to have to agree with the orders being wrong. I used to get burritos all the time, but once I started ordering tostadas(I got tired of the same thing every day), I would order extra lettuce, and guacamole. They do charge extra for these, so you can say I was upset at the fact that I was getting charged more for something I wasn’t even getting! Two days ago, I went back, ordered my tostada, and explained what had happened the last few times I’ve ordered that, and how they got the order wrong on multiple occasions. Granted, this was the first time I had brought it up to them, and as expected, the cashier(who has always been great!) apologized and offered not to charge for extra lettuce and guac. Food is delicious, and even though it can get crowded really fast, it’s definitely worth the wait. i will keep coming back to you guys, but the order accuracy definitely needs to improve!

Stopped by today and ordered a Chicken California burrito, carne asada burrito and a potatoes and eggs burrito. Carne asada burrito was very salty and greasy. Chicken burrito and egg burrito fries were old and dried. The guy that helped me was nice and friendly gave me enough salsa without hesitating. Unfortunately we couldn’t use them. Food was thrown away.

This place is pretty good. I like the lapse burrito while some of my friends like their Cali burrito. The drive through cracks me up with the window being on the passenger side. They’re prepare for it though. Good place to grab a late night meal.

Eat Mexican Food is always satisfying and the taste hasn’t changed since Fresh MXN! When going to any Eat Mexican Food. the brown sauce is so BOMB here it is a must!, because it is not common at any other place, but these former Santana chains with new names still carry it. The only difference with Eat Mexican Food is how they carry two sizes now: pequeno and grande! The price different is about a $ 1.50 more for the larger size. This location is convenient as it is in Hillcrest so it is on the way when leaving Downtown SD. The service here on this recent trip was mediocre. =/I noticed on my particular order of the 2+2 Burrito comes in one size which is «Grande». The«Grande» is supposed to be larger than the«Pequeno», but yet with another order of Buenos Dias Burrito which was Pequeno, my 2+2 looked fun size and the same as the«Pequeno» side by side. I didn’t complain or say anything, but if they are going to say it’s a «Grande», I would expect it to be slightly larger like the name says.

1st time here. Came here hungry, randomly late night from a couple blocks from lamplighter bar. Atmosphere: moderatly small mexican taco shop. I guess from the pictures on Unilocal it used to be a Santana’s taco shop. Food: ordered a california burrito with guac and sour cream 4 rolled tacos. the cali burrito was ok. small. fresh tortilla. but nothing spectacular. the rolled tacos were pretty good. fried perfectly. can taste the beef and all the fresh lettuce, cheese, tomatoes piled on top with guacamole. they had an a good selection of salsa at the salsa bar but was mediocre compared to other taco shops. Service: good. so-so Overall: good place if you’re in the area and need a late night taco fix from drinking all night. Other than that an A-OK spot.

This is one of my late night place I love going to. I usually get a bean and cheese burrito and they are tasty tasty the prices are very reasonable not to expensive. You must try the avocado green Duce it is Da Bomb. One thing to remember when you are ordering the burritos come in two different sizes. The staff are always friendly and make you feel welcomed. So for all of you late nite people this is a good go to place to get a late nite nite to eat.

Poor customer service And horrible food I hope this place closes down soon Complete failure of a taco shop Save yourself and go to la posta down the street Place is complete shit For some unknown reason after like about 10pm the service gets worse, the workers seem to be bothered even if the order is super simple. Do not ! Ask for any special requests they will take it out on you. The incentive to make semi eatable food ends at about 10pm.
