The sandwiches are fantastic. I work near by and I’m still trying menu items. The bread is lightly toasted and the ingredients are always fresh and delicious. I love the #10 oh and the #9 oh and the #11.

I come in all the time and get the same thing because it’s so good, the #10! The ingredients are fresh and the sandwich is always on point. Owned by a very nice couple who remember my order before I even say it. Perfect place to get good food at a good price from very nice people.

My coworkers order from this deli quite often and they never disappoint! I love their turkey BLT with avocado. SO. FREAKING. GOOD. The price is decent, if you like cheap there’s plenty of fast food choices. If you want DELICIOUS, give Deli Delight a try!

This quaint shop is easy to miss if you don’t know where to look. Located across the street from car repair shops, and next to a Tae Kwon Do facility, the restaurant is simply labeled«DELI» in red lettering outside. Before arriving, I read the previous reviews, as any prepared Unilocaler would do. They weren’t flooded with customers(one woman was sitting and eating, while another customer was standing, waiting for his order), so I’m not sure if calling in ahead is necessary. I’m also not sure what kind of service the guy who deemed this the«worst place ever» received, or what kind of attitude he brought to this cute sandwich shop, but I had no issues during my first visit. I walked in and immediately noticed the high-school concession type menu. It’s quite small and to the point, so if you’re looking for subway, firehouse subs or jimmy johns, this is not the place for you. I ordered the #1 veggie and #2 turkey(avocado, tomato, lettuce, turkey, obviously, sprouts and mayo, with a pickle on the side) sandwiches from the lunch menu. The total, with tax, came to $ 10.24. There is a sign which dictates: All orders under $ 8.50 paid via debit/credit will be charged .50 cents. The shop is pretty transparent, and as soon as the male employee/owner took my order, you could see/hear the chopping and sandwich forming commence. A few minutes later, I received my sandwiches(pictured) in to-go containers. There was the PERFECT amount of veggies and meat on the turkey order, as well as a non-overwhelming spread of mayo. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were more than enough for me to eat half the sandwich, then save the remaining for later. Whenever I take my car to the area for repairs, this will be my lunching spot!

This is my favorite place to get a California Club sandwich in San Diego! I haven’t tried any other sandwich but I’m sure the others are good too. I’m an avid sandwich eater and have tried many places in San Diego but I always come back to Deli Delight. One of the things that makes it so good is the sourdough bread. Unlike most sourdough breads that are tough to eat, deli delight serves the softest sourdough bread! I love it. Also, the couple that owns this place are sooo sweet and kind. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a good sandwich. You won’t be disappointed!

Pay with cash, call in your order in advance. They charge 50 cents for orders less than $ 8.50.

WORSTPLACEEVER!!! I don’t care if this place makes the best sandwich on the face of the EARTH! Not only will I never step foot in this place ever again, but I will make it my mission to deter anyone and everyone I can from giving these sorry excuses for business owner’s ANY business! I make it a point in my daily travels to seek out and experience every deli I possibly can in the greater San Diego area.(I’m a contractor so I’m always on the road.) I’ve had my great, my not so great and my flat out bad sandwiches and regardless of the outcome I never Unilocal because I believe that everyone should try things out for themselves before it’s possibly ruined by others. However, the owners of this place have shot themselves in the foot! I walked in to this empty place and up to the counter and I take a look at the menu… or what is supposed to be a menu. In all honesty, a 5 year old can make a better menu than these sorry people did. I receive no greeting after entering and as I sit at the counter trying to figure out what to order, an older Asian man just stands there at the register and stares at me. I ask him, ‘What kind of soup do you have today?’ He answers, ‘No soup today.’ I say, ‘Okay well then can I just get the club with dijon mustard?’ ‘No dijon, only regular mustard ’ he says. ‘Alright. Just easy mustard then and add onions and I’d like cheddar instead of swiss please.’ Mind you that this is a cold sandwich with a price tag of $ 5.50. Now, as I said I am an avid sandwich eater and I’m used to paying for what I get. So he rings me up and the total is $ 6.30. I hand him a ten and two ones. He looks at me like I’m stupid and hands me back the two ones. I explain to him my logic and he them accepts it and begins to make the change. I ask him, ‘Did you charge me extra for something?’ He tells me that he charged me .30 extra for substituting cheddar for swiss and because I added onions. I ask him if he is really charging me for onions and he says yes, for the onions and the cheese. I ask him how come the surcharge for the cheese and then he loses it! He takes my $ 12 and tosses it back to me and says ‘No no no. You leave now! I no need your business!’ I look at him, grab my money and say, ‘Wow. You are weird!’ and I turn to walk out. He screams, ‘No! You weird!’ As I was exiting I politely told him where and what to do with his sandwich and his business. Please fellow sandwich lovers, DONOTGIVEYOURBUSINESSTOTHESEPEOPLE! They definitely don’t deserve it. I still can’t wrap my mind around the fact that their doors are still open!

Whenever I come back down to San Diego this is definitely my go-to lunch place. The man always greets with a smile on his face and the woman always peeks her head out to say hello. Honestly, it doesn’t look very impressive when you first walk in, but I think that’s what gives the place so much character. Its simplicity. Many times I find myself liking a restaurant purely by its interior décor, and the food tends to taste better than it truly is because of it. Now, I may be wrong, but I felt like this place is AUTHENTIC. If I were to eat their roast beef and swiss cheese sandwich at the beach or a park or in the comforts of my own home, it would taste the same as it did in the deli. No cover-ups, no sugar coatings, just PUREGOOD eats. After talking with the two owners(there’s only two workers) I feel like there is much hardship in their stories; they have been in business for over 15 years. That’s what’s admirable: their dedication. Prices are very inexpensive as well and feels healthier than most, if not all, the food joints around the area. Close to Mira Mesa so I always stop by the Edwards Cinema shopping area afterwards!

I’ve eaten here twice. Both times, the meat and bread were most memorable to me. Ordered roast beef with cheddar cheese on sourdough. The roast beef tasted really good, and the bread is nice and soft with a crisp crust. Veggies tasted fresh.

Im guessing this place is owned by this older married couple. I’m OUTRAGED by the man that was working!!! I am currently taking a month long certification class that is 2 doors down from the deli. I was having trouble looking for an area to eat on our breaks and discovered this deli. I went to check it out and ordered a sandwich and was delighted to find out that food and prices werent bad. This was def the spot I’ll go eat during my breaks when I didnt bring any food with me. The next day I did bring food with me and decided to eat outside in front of the deli considering there were two tables there. I was on the phone and didn’t realize that I was tipping on the chair, the woman came out and asked if I can stop doing that, and thats reasonable enough so I apologized. I went back to the classroom and realized I had more time left for break so I came back to the table. This time the man came out and scolded me for leaving the chair out. He was very rude but I just left it as that. The next day I decided to go back to the table and considering how rude he was the day before decided not to order anything, but as soon as he saw me sitting at the table he comes out and scolds me again. Telling me to get out hes using the space. Even though the deli was empty. I was so angry. I told him that he lost a customer by treating me that way. He just backlashed and said I was a troublemaker. because i didn’t push the chair back into the table!!! He then started cursing at me to leave and I just stormed off, not even cursing back at him… I’m appalled and extremely furious by how i was treated. Instead of getting out of hand with my anger and do something that can get me in trouble(which I’m so tempted to do) I am just going to express how I feel through Unilocal. That was not right what he did and I need to let this be known.

This place was okay, not really impressed. Im pretty sure others would disagree with me, but I go to many sandwich places, often… Maybe others have had better luck, or maybe it was just not my day for sam’miches!

I went to this place because I was getting my car serviced nearby. This place looked kind of warn down by the mechanic told me to try it out for lunch. I walked in and was greeted by the owners of the place and ordered a sandwich. I must say that was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever tasted. It was relatively cheap too! Five dollars for a nice big sandwich. The bread was fluffy and the crust pulled apart in my mouth in a certain way where I can’t explain it but typing this up makes me want to go there again. They don’t skimp out on the meats and I can’t wait to go back. –Ben; Poor student’s review for students.

This is my GOTOPLACE when it comes to sandwiches. It’s one of those hole in the wall kind of places so you gotta look hard when looking for this place. I think this place is even the reason I love sandwiches(probably one of my all time favorite foods) I usually get the pastrami sub and honestly, I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. But then again, I pretty much love almost everything on the menu but the pastrami sub is my go-to sandwich. I don’t think you can go wrong here. There are only 2 workers and I THINK they are husband and wife. They’re super friendly and they always give GREAT service. The portions here are also generous and the price is very reasonable. And this is coming from a college student. Ugh, my mouth waters as I think about this place and I can’t wait until I get to go here again. Probably tomorrow. aha

Easily my favorite deli in San Diego. Amazing customer service and seriously some fresh nutritious sandwiches. There’s a 24 hour fitness right next door and it has become routine for me to stop by this place as my every post work out meal. I also love going here with my girlfriend who loves it just as much as I do. And to let you all know, their California club is FANTASTIC!

I went here because the place next door did some embroidery work. I asked the embroidery place if the deli next door was good for the buck, and the lady there said the place was good and that we should try it. I got the #10, since it had a lot of meat, and my friend got the #6. It comes in a large styrofoam tray and fills it pretty well. The first bite of the sandwich made me want more, and my friend agreed as well. I would have to say this was one of the better sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life. For $ 5.25, a little more than a $ 5 Footlong, this was definitely better. The sourdough bread was not that sour and there was just enough balance in the sandwich to make it to perfection. I definitely would come here again.
