I love the location as its steps away from where I live and I can get there in my pajamas … My favorite coffee is their Ethiopian yirgacheffe and I usually just buy the bag. It’s smooth with hints of blueberry. Thus far it’s the best coffee I’ve had in a long time … I haven’t gone to peets since I discovered this place

I believe this is the newer of the dark horse locations and it is a bit larger than the other two places as well. Its location is quite unexpected, its in a new little building on the street corner next to the freeway. Stopped by here on the caffeine crawl. There are plenty of outdoor patio seating as well. Street parking but there aren’t too many other businesses around so parking isn’t as bad at tying to go to the north park location. Coffee is always good and the staff friendly.

I love dark horse. It’s the best. Go try it. You won’t regret it. Locally roasted and consciously collected. And now they are in golden hill!!!

So excited to have this coffee shop in the neighborhood! I dropped in to get the cold brew ice coffee on nitro and WOW, it was delicious! This was my first taste of an ice coffee on nitro and It tasted like a full-bodied coffee with such a smooth and clean finish! On top of that, after drinking half of the ice coffee, I felt the caffeine flowing through my veins and it felt so good! There isn’t many coffees that leave me feeling this way without adding a shot of espresso or something. I am definitely excited to come back to try their other coffees too!

Excellent iced & cold brew coffee. Right off the 94 freeway for easy access too. Huge outdoor seating area with shade.

I was bit — offended? — that someone wrote that this particular Dark Horse Coffee isn’t in «the best location /neighborhood»(can’t remember verbatim what they wrote). Golden Hill is my ‘hood, and I live less than a stone’s throw away from this location. I love my neighborhood, and I love this DH location. regardless, I would never let another reviewer’s words deter my own thoughts & opinions, or my love for Dark Horse Coffee. this location is great. it’s significantly bigger than its counterparts(North Park & Normal Heights), boasting an outside area & more merchandise. the baristas are friendly and always execute my iced quad almond milk Champ to perfection. their vegan goodies, made by Papa G, are incredible. I especially love the vegan banana bread pudding. I’m here at least once or twice a week(wish it could be more; alas, my wallet says otherwise). so glad this location is finally open!

Their cold brew on nitro tap actually works unlike the North Park location that’s been broken the last two times we went. And it’s BOMB. The smoothest coffee I’ve ever had. It’s like drinking a Guinness on tap. Super foamy and rich. And the service here is really friendly and helpful. Also parking is really easy! Went here twice in 3 days!

Was very happy to see yet another location of one of my favorite local roasters open up down south near the 94 freeway. The neighborhood isn’t really the best area, but Dark Horse is located in a new building right off 25th street before E. I found the parking situation off 25th to be a bit rough, but if you drive down to E you’ll find some empty spots. It’s kind of easy to pass by as I didn’t see any big sign out front. This is the biggest location that Dark Horse coffee roasters has opened in San Diego. They definitely went all out when building this café by providing stylish seating( ) and better atmosphere for doing some work while enjoying your coffee. There is also a common area outside where you can sit to enjoy your drinks as well( ). The pour over menu( ) is posted up front to the side of the register. My Guatemala pour over was perfect as usual, they brew their coffee great here. I was unable to try any pastries because they didn’t have a great selection left because I came so late in the day. Glad to see Dark Horse is doing so well that they are opening up even more locations, this place is their best yet.

It seems like it took forever for this place to open here in Golden Hill, and it was worth the wait. Incredibly good coffee and incredibly nice staff. Everyone who works here is always in a good mood and super helpful.

Even do I lived on the other side of the bridge(grant hill), I don’t mind walking 0.4mi. I needed a coffee shop that I can rely on, near me. My first visit was on Tuesday 15, 2015. Costumer service was amazing and very friendly when it comes taking care of a costumer. I order a vanilla latte large, since I been craving for one for a while, I was speechless with the rich sweet warm taste. It was cloudy and windy that day, having a good coffee with that kind of weather was the best combination. Ordering was easy and simple small menu, I really like their POS, fast to pay with credit/debit card. My coffee I believed it took only like 4 – 6 no BS. I will continue and come back and support Dark Horse Coffee in Golden Hill, this is a must place for me to go, so 7⁄11(Golden Hill) peace out! Someone else took my heart!

I’m so happy Dark Horse Coffee Roasters continues to expand. First Normal Heights, then North Park, and now, Golden Hills. The residences of Golden Hills sure are a lucky bunch of people. I stopped in on an early cool Saturday morning and ordered a house drip Christmas blend and a warm slice of coffee cake. The coffee blend was very nice. It was mostly smooth with a bit of sourness at the beginning but with a big smooth rich finish. It also had a little fruity overtones. I put a touch of cream which helped with the sourness. The coffee cake was great. It has a terrific cinnamon and mild coffee flavor. Asked for it warmed, so it was very moist and soft. The crumble on top was packed with cinnamon and brown sugar. The coffee cake went great with the Christmas blend coffee. The employees during my visit were hip. The young lady who made my coffee was very and cool and quite knowledgeable about the coffee products. The place has inside and outside comfortable seating with free Wi-Fi. A great place for a cup of coffee.
