I really hate dessert places. Not because I truly hate them, but because I hate how I love them, hate how they force me to make irrational decisions and how I then hate myself afterwards. Cremolose is one of those places. The minute you walk in off the street, your eyes are are tantalized by the sight of a myriad of Gelato and Ice Cream flavor options that just beckon you to indulge yourself in. If you dare let your eyes venture further, then your vision will be filled with images of cakes, cannoli, and other unspeakable things. After that you simply need to just make a judgement call and try to limit the damage. My damage was the smallest cup of the 7-Layer Cake Gelato/Ice Cream and a regular and and chocolate cannoli. I wanted more but I had to practice damage control. Although it wasn’t cheap, $ 8 for the 3 items, I wasn’t at all disappointed. The Gelato was delicious and had great texture(cakey, for obvious reasons) and the Cannoli was just that, cannoli. Let’s face it folks, it is really hard to go wrong there. This place is just bad news if you have a sweet tooth. Well, bad news and good news. It’s really up to you which one it is. They also have a restaurant but I can’t comment on that since I was too busy stuffing my face full of sweets… After already having a huge dinner elsewhere… Anyway, where were we? Oh yeah, so Cremolose is definitely one of those special places for the sweet-toothed individual that feels like really letting themselves go and binge on some stuff their workouts will probably regret later. In case you missed it, I’ll simplify… Cremolose is great.

Cremolose is a perfect stop while gallivanting in the Gaslamp. Considering the enticing gelatos, pastries and pizzas upon entry, I have yet to take advantage of their spacious dining area, which serves a multitude of meals. So far my experiences have been limited to the bar. shocking I know. Order a(gigantic, thin-crust, tasty) slice and about face to take advantage of the wall decorated with an abundance of adult beverages. Plenty of comfy seating and there is nothing better than conversing with a friendly bartender gladly willing to pour your desire or surprise with scrumptious concoction. Many establishments in the area, assuming you are granted entry, tend to exude the impression that the staff is doing you a favor by allowing you to spend a fortune in their presence. Not even close to such at Cremolose; the prices are ridiculously reasonable and no matter how busy slinging slices, sweets or mind altering sauces, the staff extends greetings with sparkling smiles and spectacular service!

Cute little spot that is perfect for grabbing a small treat after a meal. Lots of gelato and pastries of all sizes and variety to appeal to whatever your sweet tooth may be craving. The setting is lovely and has a European feel. Romantic, indeed. The outdoor patio is the perfect place to take in some people watching while enjoying your treat of choice.

Oh my word. If only there were a Cremolose or something similar in Seattle! What can I say besides they have desserts up the wazoo? Well, they also make them to perfection…

This review is for desserts and gelato only.(I have not tried the food here…) The best part of this place was the service — the server behind the pastry counter was super friendly, helpful, and patient. Unfortunately, the desserts were bland and overpriced. I was pretty disappointed. We got a box, so we tried a bunch of them, and across the board, they were not good. The gelato was a bit better than the pastry desserts. It was decent, but not the best gelato I’ve ever had.

NOT a breakfast restaurant. They might claim to be open at 8 or 9 am, but when we got there on a Saturday morning, we were the only customers. All the tables and chairs were flipped up for cleaning and the inside reeked of necessary bleach and pine sol. There were some tables on the patio, so we sat outside. Service was achingly slow for us being the only table. Once we finally got our food, though, it was totally fine. Nothing to rave about, but solid eggs and fruit. My coffee was so microscopic, though, that I was already making sad eyes at the starbucks across the street. Skip it for breakfast and go to the Broken Yolk or something.

I love the concept: –located in Gaslamp –open very late –has decent food & desserts –looks and feels clean –bright –not loud –good background music –it is finally something other than hookah lounge! Done clubbing? Head there!

It’s not very often that one experiences something completely new in Ice Cream. Probably the last time for me occurred when I first tried gelato in 1999 or 2000. Cremolose gave me such an experience anew. While as I learned, the ice cream here is technically sorbetto, they prepare it in a really unique fashion. While some might be turned off by the grainy texture(which made me think of some sort of frozen rice pudding), I really enjoyed it in the almond and banana flavors I ordered. Summary: If you’re looking for something new in the world of desserts, you have nothing to Cremo-lose by coming here.

I came for brunch Sunday morning with a friend. While I waited for my friend to arrive, I had a very nice conversation with they hostess and drank a nice cappuccino. The cappuccino was $ 3.00.( ) When my friend arrived, we were both in the mood for breakfast items, so I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich for $ 8.95( ) and my friend ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict, but added ham with that for $ 12 and some change.( ) The croissant sandwich was super and was quite large. It had a couple of fried eggs, some crispy bacon, melted cheddar cheese, and of course, a very moist but flaky croissant.( ) The breakfast croissant was in winner in my book. My friend said his Benedict’s were very good and the hollandaise was silky and creamy. The breakfast potatoes were sort of an after though. They looked very good, but lacked flavor. The service was very good and the place was very clean. My friend also picked yup some desserts to take home. I was not going home right away, so I had to pass. But everything looked great.( ) Yummy Brunch and very nice service…

Passed by Cremolose while trying to find a place to eat & do HH downtown(that was also kid friendly). The food was good(cheese pizza, seared ahi, calamari, crab cakes), but I am sorry to say our server needs more training. We ordered at least 5 items off the happy hour menu, not including drinks. Let’s just say our server didn’t know how to answer a lot of our questions, was obvious he was guessing on some, and messed up my order. Knowing how it is when you send food back, I just said, «F-it!» Also, my drink was«custom” — -strawberry mojito. They didn’t have that on the menu – even though he told me at first they did. Took him a couple of tries to get me what I ordered… then tried to explain to me like I didn’t know what a mojito was… ahhhhh… :-X Then later he tried to make sale by telling my sis, «You sure you don’t want to order another ______? It’s only $ 7.»(This was already her 2nd drink). He pretty much made it sound like we didn’t want to order another drink cuz we were afraid of costs. Dude, we just don’t want another drink. Anyways, I was glad I got to use my free dessert thing on my Unilocal checkin. I got coconut Gelato — -which was sooooooo good! May or may not be back(because there are sooooo many other restaurants I want to try downtown). But, I know where to go for great Gelato!

During Comic Con, I passed by this place on my way to the Zombie Walk(during the Comic Con) and made a mental note that this could be a possible place for dinner, given that only one table on the outside was busy. Less than an hour later after the Zombie Walk, I brought the family here and the front was packed, but the inside dining area was empty. Nice for us! Even nicer was passing the the gelato and cremalose cases and seeing those and the various Italian desserts. I just knew we’d have to have some of that! Dinner? After drooling over those dessert cases? Oh yeah, I suppose we should. Had the onion rings at Happy Hour prices and they were simply as good as I’ve had anywhere. Very tasty! About the pizzas: the four cheese pizza had a nice even flavor throughout. The Margherita we had topped with pepperoni; the sauce tasted a little thin to me. The wood fire oven baking wasn’t really evident to me in the taste of either pie. Still, both were good, but at 6 slices per pie, it’s not exactly cheap and could probably be easily demolished by a couple of people with a hearty appetite. One in our party had the panini and commented that the texture was nice for the sandwich, but it was otherwise rather flavorless. On to the gelato though and rather than read the menu, the waiter(dressed as Captain America) invited us to go down and have a look which we did, and had several samples before making our picks which didn’t disappoint! A small size is probably good for most people, though like popcorn at a movie theater, the price starts rather high and goes from there on the different sizes. The staff here, from the manager to the waiters to the she-hulk tending the gelato case were very nice and friendly and the Captain America waiter thrilled our kids by letting him hold his shield, so I can say over all, we had a great experience here and at the minimum, will look to come back again for some more of that great gelato!

Cremolose is an Italian café in the outskirts of gaslamp. It can easily be missed with so many choices in the area but this is definitely a great find. They serve everything from pizzas, paninis, and pastas to espresso, desserts, and gelato! They also have a very chic full service bar for your favorite drinks. So far I’ve only been here for a quick snack of coffee and dessert but I am impressed. Right when you walk in they have the LARGEST display of gelato, cremolose, and individual sized desserts and treats that I have ever seen in a restaurant! The espresso drinks are delicious! They’re as close to an authentic Italian brew that I’ve had. The individual desserts are also yummy(see pics). The chocolate mousse cake was melt in your mouth delicious and everything looked so gorgeous. I seriously wanted to try them all. The prices are very fair as well. I am looking forward to going back and trying out their entrees as well. Hopefully they don’t disappoint but I would definitely recommend for a sweet tooth fix, caffeine fix, and liquor fix.

One time, I ate gelato here and found a hair sticking out of mine. I can forgive it. It was one time. The cannoli is yummy. The pizza is good. I remember making the remark, «I thought the only good pizza in the Gaslamp was Ciro’s. Who knew you could find good pizza at a dessert place too??» Friendly staff! They will strike up cheerful small talk with you.

First time in my life I’ve tryed a latte made with gelato — a heavenly delicious. I simply asked for a good hot drink, and was handed an awesome drink three minutes later, fast and with a smile. Also, introduced with«no logo» concept, I really like their marketing idea of plain white to-go cups — «they distinguish themselves with drinks, not with packaging» — brilliant. And, I haven’t emphasized it in my review, but their huge flavorfull rainbow of deserts and ice-creams is totally worth of another review. I guess I set myself for an instant come back.

While failing at bar hopping in the Gaslamp district, Chris K. and I stumbled upon Cremolose. It seemed slightly out of place, very contemporary and bright, compared to the pubs, burger joints, franchises(Hooters, Yardhouse), and clubs that comprise the condensed Downtown SD. The greeter lured us in with the mention of gelato. Right across from the 4 cases of gelato, pastries, and cheeses(random much?) sat a gorgeous high top marble bar. We filled 2 empty seats and pored over the drink menu. The bartender asked if this was our first visit, and then proceeded to explain what cremolose was(cremolose: n. gelato without the dairy and added sugar) … essentially sugarless sorbet. There was a full page of specialty cocktails dedicated to using cremolose as a key ingredient. Once we found a drink that enticed us, the bartender suggested we go to the gelato bar to sample the particular cremolose flavor that would be used in the drink. I tasted the watermelon and the peach. I was sold on the peach, and ordered the bellini. Chris K. tried the lemon cremolose. It was super tarty, but we thought the Jack would mellow it out. We were so right about the Jack di Limon… and it tasted like the breeze of a warm, summer day. Also, both our drinks fondly reminded me of Fat Tuesdays because they were blended. :) We were very content with our selections, but tempted by the nutella cocktail(Frangelico, amaretto, godiva liquer, almond and hazelnut cremolose, plus an ingredient or 2 i forgot. all blended together) the bartender is experimenting with. We’ll save that for our next visit down to Gaslamp. :)

I’m dangerously in love with this place… I’ve been waiting for this place to open up since this place is literally steps away from my casa. Now that they are up and running, I see to find myself here several times a week. My hubby and I enjoys their wild mushroom and Prosciutto croissants, and completes our meals with either their hazelnut cannoli’s, or their chocolate mousse cups. Also, this is the place to get a STRONG cappuccino! One cup does the job. Along with their great customer service, this place is also opened until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. I highly recommend this for anyone with a sweet tooth! Now I have to step it up with my gym sessions in order to be able to come back here!

mmmm… so many dessert choices that look very authentic! I had trouble deciding… but my friend and I both got a scoop of gelato and a cookie– because I wanted something hard lol. You are first greeted by a lady standing outside. then we told her we were just getting dessert. They have natural flavors on the left side, but the better tasting ones were on the right. I had the one that was supposed to be the most popular– it had 7 layers? of chocolate and i could taste a hint of hazelnut… it was good, but became too sweet in the end… It’s a cute place to go get dessert if you want something different, something more Italian… It’s weird how they put the cakes on top of the counter though… Btw, the service is awesome!

Something new in downtown. A huge venue with a little bit of everything. They have deli meats, gelato, a bar, pizza in a stone oven. What drew me in from across the street was the huge chocolate fountain. The service was very nice, you could tell it was opening night as eveyone was kinda still not to familiar with the p menu, but it wasn’t enough to bother me. They have great drinks, and the desserts are very good also. Hell this place is nice enough to draw in The Roast Master General himself Jeff Ross. Im most def gonna be coming here after a night in DT, seeing as how they close at 4, I can get my grub on
