Four of us tried Cousins for the first time and were all thoroughly impressed. Everything was fresh and totally delicious. We had Connecticut rolls, soup, tater tots and tacos among us and every item was gold. Can’t wait to do it again! Lobster portions were HUGE!

Ok, so you’re paying $ 15.00 and some change for the best quality lobster, drenched in REALBUTTER stuffed inside an equally buttertastic roll. You are not paying for quantity at a lobster roll food truck, let’s be real people. These comments about«baby-sized» rolls are just absurd… go to Subway for a $ 5 footlong if you want quantity and come here if you want convenient seafood that tastes like the lobsters are swimming in a fish tank inside of the food truck and are thrown in a pot of boiling water upon being ordered. You’re paying for melt-in-your-mouth lobster here, let’s not get it twisted. That being said, I ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll and boy did I enjoy every last bite. Think about any of the many surrounding sushi restaurants. A lobster roll that is actually lobster is around this price and the amount of succulent lobster claws you get at Cousins Maine Lobster is without comparison to sushi restaurants, seafood restaurants, or the labor you’d have to put into cooking a freshly-caught lobster. Seriously, I can’t express how amazing this lobster roll is. Picture 5 de-shelled whole claws of lobster meat with some added body meat stuffed inside buttered bread that is toasted on the griddle, creating a pillowy texture that compliments the high-quality lobster claw meat. I especially like the warm-and-buttered state of lobster than the cold, mayonnaise-drenched version because come on, lobster is meant to be warm and wrapped in a robe of fatty goodness that the Gods wouldn’t even dare to reject. I would pay $ 15.00 for this Connecticut lobster roll again and again and again. Give me a nice Cabernet or a West Coast IPA to chase it and I might just actually end up in heaven.

Guess I should have paid more attention to the fact that there was no line at this truck yesterday evening while parked outside Residence Inn, off Hotel Circle but love the taste of lobster and wanted to try the so called lobster roll Connecticut. When we got back to our rooms we knew we had been ripped off. The rolls were not rolls at all but more grilled pieces of white bread buttered with very few pieces of lobster meat that was over cooked. We were so disappointed being visitors to San Diego and the fact that wee too watch the Shark Tank episode! We paid $ 32 dollars for a teaser. Wow what a let down!

I had heard about this place for a while and finally tried it tonight. Overall, the food was pretty good but it certainly did not justify the prices. Lobster roll was fresh but it could’ve use a lot more lobster meat for the price. We also tried the lobster bisque which was good but too heavy on the cream. We got a quesadilla for our son which was very basic and unimpressive for eight dollars. I literally had to go to In n out and get a double double afterward. Although lobster is one of my favorite foods I will not be going back here anytime soon.

Dude, the lobster roll is tiny. I can finish it in two bites if I try. Not worth the $ 17.

Encountered this food truck at December Nights in Balboa Park. Was craving for lobster rolls so had to stop at this truck and partake of their selection. Just wanted to point out that I had lobster rolls at the Long Beach Lobster Festival 2015 and Supernatural. Comparatively, Supernatural and Cousins trumps the LB Lobster Festival due to better quality for the pricing. Keep in mind: lobsters(especially fresh ones) are not cheap. There are two types of lobster rolls at Cousins: Maine and Connecticut. Maine has mayonnaise and Connecticut has butter. I got the Maine. When I got my lobster roll, I was extremely happy at the generous serving of lobster claws at $ 17.25(including tax). The only improvements I can think of is to warm up the lobster claws because they were chilled. And a different roll selection; the roll reminded me of regular hot dog buns. For a lobster roll, a better quality bread roll would enhance the whole experience of the Maine lobster roll.

Been following the food truck and always checking to see where they’ll be at whenever I’m in the SD area. Just so happen they were going to be in Temecula at one of the local wineries. Decided to take the bf and his mom, since she’s pretty much a fan of any lobster roll. Yes, the price is high, but I believe the portions are enough. Considering that the lobsters and bread are imported from back east. The only reason why didn’t get a 5 stars from me, I ordered their tater tots and when I received it, it was on the cold side. It was crispy but not warm. Other than that I’ll try them out again.

i fail to see what all the hype & hoopla is about this place. i was so excited to try their food. their truck advertises that they were on Shark Tank & various other television shows & programs. my friend confirmed that their food was good. i was sold. i ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll; what i received was a child-sized lobster roll with a pedestrian tasting bun that was soaked in butter. the amount of butter used in this sandwich would make Paula Deen blush. the sandwich overall was pretty lackluster in flavor. i was very disappointed. i think i needed at least two rolls to feel even remotely full. that being said, they are quite generous with the amount of lobster they give. their customer service also merits an extra star or two. i think i would rather spend an extra $ 5 or $ 6 and get a lobster roll at Ironside. half of their lobster roll & fries keeps me full for hours.

Their lobster rolls are the best and ill drive to any location they’re at just to get one. I really wish they would visit the Mission Valley area more often but hey its all good. This group food trucks has seemed to master one thing others can’t and that’s consistency. No matter what truck i go to I get the same quality product. Ive tried their whole menu and you can’t go wrong no matter what you get . Please Visit Mission Valley.

HOLY this is SOGOOD! Oh my gosh! I just finished eating my lobster roll 5 seconds ago. I have to review this right NOW! I ordered combo #1 which includes a roll of your choice, I got the Maine lobster roll and I upgraded to the smothered tots(extra $ 1.50 I think) and it also comes with a soda. It came out to around $ 24, yeah it’s pricey but you get what you pay for in life. Their service is FAST for a food truck. The guy working the truck was calm and collected, most food trucks seem like the workers are frantic and panicking about having customers. This guy was fun and friendly :) I wish I got to see the cute cousins who own the business LOL They’re very generous about their lobster portions, I was thinking that there would only be a couple of pieces but the lobster was spilling out of the roll! GOODNESS! The smothered tots are super delicious too! worth the upgrade! it has taco sauce and pico de gallo on top. I can tell it’s fresh and not microwaved Ore Ida tots. Cousins please park your truck in my driveway NOW!

Food truck Wednesdays. I love the variety that it can bring. This trip I found myself gravitating to the lobster truck. I had heard good things. The truck itself is decked out with all their publicity and accolades. :enter inner dialogue: What do you get here? If it’s your first time, well the lobster roll of course. Aaah, but which one. There are choices you say? Why yes! The Maine or the Connecticut. The whose it what now? Maine or Connecticut. What’s the difference Simply, mayo vs butter Aaah I see Butter please. I need to challenge my heart. So I went with the Connecticut roll. It is warmed lobster meat with butter and lemon.(The Maine in contrast is chilled lobster meat with a touch of mayo. Both are made with Maine lobster.) It was $ 16. The roll was small but it was all meat and butter. I’m not sure if I think the price vs value is there for the size and $ 16, but I know it costs a lot to ship fresh Maine lobsters. Lobster is pricey to start with. The sandwich was small though. The Guys in the truck were cool so that definitely bumps up their stars.

Not sure what the hype is about. The Maine lobster roll that cost 15+ bucks consists of a bun, ice-cold lobster, and mayo. I have to admit there are large chucks of lobsters, but the overall size of the roll is just way too small. In addition, I didn’t like the fact that the lobster was ice-cold at all. When I asked the cashier what’s the difference between Maine and Connecticut, she only said one has mayo and one doesn’t. I have to find out afterwards on my own that Connecticut is actually warm. I always see Cousins Maine Lobster truck at festivals and I longed to try it but never did because of the high price. Now that I finally tried it, I know I be better off spending my money elsewhere. More importantly, I can finally stop contemplating if I should get it or not because it’s just not worth it.

I decided to try the Connecticut roll after reading reviews since I knew it would be the warm roll. Though I had been warned about the tiny size of the bun in previous reviews, I was really surprised to get a kid’s meal sized bun. Granted it was loaded with fresh lobster, the soggy bun was over in a couple of bites and I was left picking up chunks of lobster. When I spend $ 16 of a roll for lunch, I expected to be full and not have to hit the vending machine in 30mins coz I’m too hungry at work. This is definitely an indulgence as far as my lunch budget goes

Tasted pretty good, but at $ 16 I expected to get a Lobster roll, not an appetizer portion of lobster on a soggy piece of white bread. Would not buy again. Edit for the owner: I’ve spent enough time in NE to know what an $ 18 lobster roll looks like. I wish I had taken a picture, but that wasn’t what I received. Might have been a bad night for you guys, because the pictures from the lady in Balboa park look very much like what I would have expected.

So I brought lunch to work today but when I found out that Cousins Maine Lobster was going to be parked outside, my curiosity got the best of me! Being that I’m a huge Shark Tank fanatic and saw these guys selling their business ideas on national TV, I wanted to see for myself what they were so passionate about. Overall, a great roll. I got the Connecticut Roll(warm with lemon butter, no mayo). Loved the soft buttered bread too. Others have said that the roll is pretty small(and I agree it is) but my roll was overflowing with fresh lobster meat so I guess that makes up for it. The pricing is the only reason why I shorted them the star. Business seems to be going well for them but I’ve seen other Unilocalers quote prices from $ 13 going up to $ 16 in a matter of months for their rolls. Definitely a once-in-awhile indulgence for me, which is why I didn’t mind paying the $ 20 for my combo(which included a drink and crispy tater tots) but a little too steep for my daily lunch budg’. I was impressed with how fast everyone was getting their food and I’ll forgive the girl who skipped me over three times because she was calling the wrong name. ;-) It’s all good — good job, Cousins!

Pretty good… But seriously? $ 16 bucks for a soggy child size lobster roll? The lobster tator tots, also $ 16 bucks consisted of 10 tater tots with 5 chunks of lobster. The quality of the lobster was good, but seriously over priced.

As good as it gets when it comes to fresh seafood. I became aware of them on Shark Tank and it took a while for me to visit a location that their truck was convenient for my schedule and where I live. The wait was worth it. I recommend Cousins Maine Lobster to anyone that knows anything about FRESH seafood.

Basically, the only place I spent money on Sunday was this truck. I ordered a Connecticut lobster roll, a Maine lobster roll, and the lobster quesadillas(three 4-in sized). The Connecticut lobster roll had warm lobster and drawn butter and was toasted nicely. The roll wasn’t my favorite, but the giant chunks of lobster made up for that. The Maine lobster roll had the same giant chunks as the Connecticut roll, but it came cold with mayo. If I had to choose between the two, I personally would get the Connecticut lobster roll since I like my lobster warm. The lobster quesadillas were equally delicious, but the lobster inside wasn’t large chunks. But the flavor was 100% there!

Heard about this food truck on Shark Tank, so when it visited my apartment complex, I didn’t hesitate to try it. Especially since I loooove lobster rolls. I ordered the Connecticut lobster roll since I prefer my lobster warm and buttered. The roll came out to $ 14.50 plus tax, which I thought was pretty reasonable for a lobster roll. Or at least compared to the lobster rolls I’ve had before. Guy taking my order was friendly and smiley. Apparently this food truck is the newest in the nation and sounds like they are expanding. Lobster roll came out fast, but I almost couldn’t hide my disappointment at its size. It was smaller than my hand. But what it lacked in size it delivered on deliciousness. Perfectly tender, fresh and not stinky lobster claw meat on a buttered toasted roll. Lobster to roll ratio was good too, although I prefer my lobster rolls overflowing with lobster(but truth… Who doesn’t??) There was one of those hard spiny claw ligaments? in my lobster roll though. Do have to say that this served as more of a snack so definitely not the most filling. Want more lobster roll! 5 stars for taste, 5 stars for fast service, and 3 stars for small size. Overall I would recommend this food truck
