El Grande Burrito or Grande Breakfast burritos are the best values in San Diego! Bring your appetite! This is the only place I go now.

My boyfriend brought me here to try the Carne asada fries while I visited San Diego for 4 days. And I was hooked… every single day I wanted to come back to try their food. The Carne asada fries are so yummy! The carne asada burrito special that includes 3 rolled tacos are amazingly delicious too! The quesadillas are yummy too. The servings are huge! I really liked this restaurant and their food. Will be coming back the next time I come to San Diego to bring my family.

3rd time I order food and they give me raw patotoes. They don’t put pride in what they cook. Very disappointed because it use to be a great place to get good mexican food.

Had a chipotle chicken burrito. It was mostly just refried beans. One piece of the chicken was gristle. I’ll never order this again, but the red hot sauce was amazing! And the drive through attendant was really nice!

The rotted wood on the west side of the building should have been a clue. I wasn’t terribly hungry so I thought an order of rolled beef tacos might tide me over until dinner. First impressions count: the sheer number of flies around the trashcans, lounging on the floor and eventually trying to share my food is certainly off-putting. The tacos were almost pure tortilla, with just a hint of beef and the most watered-down guacamole this side of Denver. The horchata was good, though and the price was reasonable. If you’re in the neighborhood, you might try the Sandwich Emporium a few doors west or Roberto’s across Clairemont Drive, but for my money the best Mexican fast food in the area is El Portal on Genesee Avenue.

I really like this place. As a disclaimer, I only get ONETHING when I come and so unless you’re getting this ONETHING I wouldn’t know. I always get two enchiladas, one chicken and one beef, and rice and beans. Without mention of their other dishes which I’ve never tried, I love this. Good sauce, good amount of sauce, good cheese, meat, beans, rice. All of it. It’s good, it really is. The reason this review got 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is the service. They are assholes but ohwell. Just go in knowing that they probably hate you, but if you don’t care, come get the enchiladas! Well, if you’re white they’ll hate you. Enjoy?

The fish rolled tacos are delicious! It’s my go to thing to order when I’m being indecisive. If you see a line be prepared to wait. They aren’t the speediest service, but the quality of the food is always spot on.

Last time we go anywhere because it’s on the way to the bay. For a decent taco or burrito– would have gladly made the detour. Food was not fresh, not plentiful, and definitely not worth it.

Strangely, I was craving a breakfast burrito at dinner time. So I ordered the hash brown burrito with guacamole. They got the order right for the most part. Just, where was the hash brown? I basically ate an egg and sausage burrito with guacamole. Plus, why do they keep the utensils behind the counter? And why not remove that empty space at the barstool seats to get more room on the table? This restaurant makes no sense.

Terrible service + low quality food = cotijas The drive thru attendant ignored me for the longest time and finally had to leave without ordering. I don’t even know why I went back there In the first place.

This place is horrible I ordered nachos supreme which cost me a whopping 8 dollars. I got no meat, no guacamole, just straight cheese beans and chips. If I wanted vegetarian nachos I wouldn’t have asked for nachos supreme, on top of that the lady was rude about it. Such a waste of my god damn money!!! PLUSTHEYDON’T EVENUSEREALAVOCADO!!!

We walked in, surveyed the small place, looks clean plus the food they were preparing smelled good, so we decided to give them a try. I ordered their breakfast buritto with ham & sausage etc. I liked it. Nothing special. A regular one just like the other mexican places. The size was decent. Their carne asada fries though was a disappointment. The fries didn’t come out crunchy. My friend was not even half way done with the meal when we noticed that the food got soggy really fast. The cheese on it was a bit dry as well. Will I go back to this place? Well, I’ll give them a second chance. Perhaps I’ll order something else and stay away from the carne asada fries. As what I said, their buritto is ok, maybe the other selection will overcome the bad experience we had of their carne asada fries.

We live about a half mile from here and the only other drive thru options are fast food, so this is definitely the after-drinking or lazy-day go-to spot… we love everything that has any shrimp there! Their shrimp tacos are bomb! I used to love the tacos for South Beach in OB, but now that I have Cotijas tacos on a regular basis, I went to South Beach somewhat recently and they were nothing in comparison! I couldn’t believe it! My boyfriend recently got me hooked on the shrimp diablo burritos! so yum! They also have super giant burritos the size of your forearm if you so choose, or double-wrapped burritos. The bf loves the surf and turn burrito… oh, and they have rolled tacos with beans and sour cream on top! I’ve never seen that anywhere else, but now I’m never going back to a standard rolled taco! As far as taco shops go, this one is just a tad pricey, but not unreasonable at all!

This is my favorite Taco Shop in San Diego. I love the Surf and Turf Burrito and am not sad to say I haven’t tried anything else. I’m sure one of these I’ll venture other things on the menu but for now don’t judge me and my burrito love affair. It’s nice they have a drive thru for those days when you’re really hungover or lazy.

Can I please give no stars? I just discovered what I think is pubic hair under my shredded lettuce. I will be reporting them tomorrow and calling management about this issue… absolutely disgusting. DONOTEATHERE!

Really wish I could give them a better rating, the food is not all bad especially their hard shell tacos, but I have to echo what others have posted regarding their customer service. All staff there for some reason is consistently so rude. Makes me not want to give them any business. They give you a sense of feeling that they don’t care and you are a bother more than anything. Do yourself a favor and try Roberto’s right across the street. Same good if not better quality food without the ‘tude. Didn’t mean to make that rhyme but hey ;)

Don’t come here if you are a high maintenance puta or bandeja ;) this ain’t fine dining, but it’s some pretty fine food:) It’s San Diego, it’s a legit Mexican Food style taco shop… While inside I felt like I had crossed the border, very ethnic inside, I love how they play Spanish radio. After three hours surfing… What doesn’t fill the olé estomago better than some big fat burritos and doesn’t drain your cash flow. Can’t go wrong with the olé lug of a burrito Mr. Bean and Cheese and another contender The Hash Brown Burrito with sausage and bacon. This food is cheap and good. The lady at the cash register was super nice and friendly:) I love it when I can go places and be treated well and eat well! Burp…(excuse me) ahhhhh you know that fuzzy feeling after good food… You can find that here:)

Drove all the way out to try this, and I love it! The deals are unbeatable. The burritos taste great — adobada was good but slightly dry. The Carne asada was great too — definitely tastier with the salsa and quac inside. Plus the combo deals were great — burrito, beans, and rice for $ 5! They did look at me as though ‘where did you come from?’ Maybe because I’m Chinese or younger than the other customers? Lol but whatever. I drove all the way here to get cotija’s because I remembered how good it was 5 years ago(tried it at another location for the first time) heh
