Bravo to Competitive Edge Resume Service, Cherie Heid and her staff. I have an unusual and diverse background that I found hard to compress and lay out (former foreign freelancer, staff newspaper reporter, entertainer, syndicated columnist, and high profile political weblog owner). I’ve had MANY resumes done over the years, but Cherie is the best person I’ve worked with who knows how to take a person’s experience, perfectly lay it out and then TRANSLATE IT into a resume that is written in a way potential employers like. She speaks their corporate language and knows what will entice employers. A job seeker presenting him/​herself in the corporate language and laying out their skill set is important — and it’s surprising how many resumes miss doing just that. AND I had her do the resume for my foster son, whose experience wasn’t as extensive — and she laid that out perfectly in terms of his past jobs and his skill set. He has also told others.

Initially came to Competitive Edge Resume Service to revamp my resume. Stuck in the same job for years (insert violin music) it was clear my professional image needed an overhaul — big time! First, the process with CE could not be easier. E-​mailed over the resume I had been using… the sad little document that was getting ZERO TRACTION finding me a new job and scheduled a phone time.

It is TRUE. My real name is not Cindy R. but I was so mistreated by the owner that I was afraid to use my true identity. No telling what she would do and not taking any chances. But my comments and evaluation are genuine and not personal. I don’t know that person, I just know that she was mean, misleading and the quality was embarrassingly POOR.

I was referred to Competitive Edge Resume Service by a friend and I’m so very glad I was! I made initial contact with Cherie via e-​mail and soon after received a reply about forwarding my resume and tentative meeting times. Meeting up would have been difficult, as I was in a bit of a rush, so we planned on e-​mails for the time being.
I forwarded my resume, which I thought was pretty darn good, and thought maybe I’d get a suggestion or two about new styles or something that are current and eye-​catching. I worked with Cherie at an old employer 8 – 10 years ago. My resume was in dire need of updating as I looked for a new job and I had known throuhg Linkedin that she now wrote resumes professionally. I felt the content of my resume was fine, but was missing some «omph» for lack of a better term.
