HORRIBLE! AVOIDATALLCOSTS. I frankly don’t know how anyone could rate this place as more than 1 star. I’m no food snob, but I certainly know good food when I taste it and I have a deep love for all Asian food. First, I started with the Yellow Curry. I ordered via as I was staying at the Hilton Torrey Pines for work. The yellow curry was the consistency of soup which was not the offputting, but it had ZERO flavor. I tasted no coconut(strange given the name of the restaurant), and the curry flavor was faint at best. It was also kind of gritty, like they tried to thicken it with corn starch, but failed. That may also account for the lack of flavor. On a bright side, it did include fresh carrots, and other assorted veggies typical of the dish, but I was surprised to see only about 4 potato chunks in the serving. The beef was thankfully tender, but lacked flavor as well. This was a total fail, but edible only because I was starving. Next, I ordered the Pad Thai. Look, if you go to an American restaurant, you’d rate them on their burger. If you go to a Thai place, you rate them on their Pad Thai. How can a Thai restaurant mess up pad thai? H O R R I B L E!!! I must figure out how to post a picture of this mess. OHMYGOD was this dish bad. The noodles were a gloppy, starchy, overcooked mess. There was no way to get a fork-full without picking up the whole mess. And like, the curry, the pad thai lacked any flavor. Seriously, it was inedible and lacked any skill or care from the establishment. I refuse to believe that the owner or cook cares about the quality of the food with simple dishes that are prepared so poorly. If this place stays in business it will only be a result of dumb consumers who know no better. There must be far better choices in this gorgeous city. San Diego deserves much better. DON’T GOTHERE! You’ll thank me.

Great food and an incredibly friendly staff. My girlfriend and I are regulars and are always greeted by name and with warm smiles. As someone who’s been to both Thailand and Laos, I can honestly say that the food here is both authentic and delicious. The atmosphere they’ve been able to cultivate is very similar to that in Thailand and Laos. There is a warmth and friendliness that you can feel when you enter the restaurant and its extended to all their customers on every visit. I feel like a 5 star rating doesn’t do it justice, I wish i could rate it 10 stars

I had the lunch special when I was sick and I am pretty sure this is what cured me. $ 7.95 for a chicken pad Thai, egg roll, and salad? Yes please! I’ll be back for you!

Friends picked this place, which is how I ended up there. I was skeptical because of the reviews(& because it was dead when we showed up, though it filled up quickly after that), but it was fine! Not standout, but a-okay. We were a party of six and everyone was happy with their food. The service was VERY friendly and the food was pretty tasty. Three stars because it was indeed a-okay, but didn’t leave me feeling like I had found My Place for Thai food. A heads-up: they do not sell booze! When we ordered beers they let us know we could go next door to the packie(where my New Englanders at?) and get what we wanted and bring it back. They let us keep our six packs and such in the fridge while we were there and brought us ice as needed, which was much appreciated.

I used to love this place but recently its been a hit or miss. Every thai restaurant should know how to make a good if not decent pad thai, its the most popular & traditional dish. I was shocked when I got this… It was basically all noodles & has no flavor. Exactly how it looks in this photo is how it tastes.

This place is a must. not joKing. I’m an Aussie and I’m use too eating real Asian/Thai food.(we live in Asia’s back yard) not what had been Americanized. No offence. Really this place is fantastic and the staff are so do friendly. Come on you need to eat here and they do take out.

I ordered delivery and it took over an hour to get to me. The dishes were cold by the time it arrived. The food was edible but seriously mediocre. Bland, small portions and the quality of the ingredients seemed poor(e.g. the meat was chewy). Will not be ordering again!

I had dinner here with a friend & we both loved our food. We’re both vegetarian & there were plenty of options for us to choose from. The portions were huge and we had lots to take home at the end. Ended up being several meals’ worth of food. A GREAT price for such great food! And our server was so pleasant. She was also helpful & patient considering I am one of those Annoying Allergy People and have quite a few things I can’t eat. I look forward to returning here.

Absolutely excellent! First time here and will be back. Food is flavorful and plenty! From the appetizers, main course to dessert! We will be back! Our waitress, Dana was sweet and friendly. The cook came out a few times to make sure everything was good. Excellent service! Impressed with this cute little joint.

Waited for 45 minutes and no food! Please close your door!!! We walk out! They have no idea how to serve or run the kitchen! It’s only a plate of pad Thai!

Over worked waitress was sweet but we waited 20 minutes for water, the sticky rice was over cooked and like glue, and the papaya salad had fish sauce that wasn’t listed on menu so I couldn’t eat it. I couldn’t flag waitress down to tell her so when I got up to give her our card she asked how it was and I mentioned the fish sauce that was unlisted in menu and that I couldn’t eat it, she didn’t take it off. So I paid for a dish I couldn’t eat due to the menu being inaccurate. Boyfriends dish was«okay.»

Not my favorite. We got a takeout order from prime now, mixed vegetables and friend rice. It was packaged in a styrofoam container where the sauce from the mixed veggies made a bit of a mess into the bag. Flavor: We both ordered 4 out of 5 spiciness and it was VERY mild. Flavors were just ok, somewhat bland. It seemed more like a Panda Express than a local Thai place The portions were normal to small. For the price there are many better Thai places in PB/mission beach. It was edible but would never be my choice to go back.

Absolutely the WORST Thai food I have ever had! It took more than 2 hours for delivery, and it was definitely NOT worth the wait: broken sauce on the red curry, bay shrimp in the noodle dish and the appetizers were not fresh. They were most likely frozen. Ugh. What a nightmare!

Love their thai food and they deliver! Usually takes a lot less time than stated, and food is always warm and freshly made.

Well, it was ok. Started with the sampler special $ 7.95. It was just ok. Came with 2 mini veg egg rolls, 2 crab puffs, 4DF tofu chunks. I ordered long eggplant basil with shrimp and brown rice. Plate came out with very little eggplant however I counted 9 shrimp the size of a half dollar. Taste was 4 star but plate size was 2 – 3 star. Husband ordered chicken cashew and said it was delicious but also said portion was more lunch size than dinner. Overall, we felt it was a solid 3 – 3.5 star

Overall BAD experience! Here’s why: 1. Pad See Ew… was just that: Ewww. Super«black» noodles with no flavor. Idk how it can be that black without it tasting salty WTH 2. Pad Thai came and the noodles was extremely DRY that it became just one GIANTBLOCK. Noodles would NOT separate and we had to cut it apart with kitchen scissors and whole dish wasn’t seasoned right. 3. Coconut chicken curry was very watery. In fact it looked like colored water. I don’t think I’ll come back. Sorry!

I already had 2 great experiences. A Groupon brought me to this place. I have never seen it in Mission Beach /Pacific Beach. Now I already went twice in one week. The service is great and very polite. The interior is nice and really cosy, which I like. She had a recommendation for everyone in the group and it was all great. I had the green curry which I greatly recommend with any kind of protein. It is pretty mild and very delicious with tons of vegetables. If you live in PB or MB and you are looking for a place with really good and friendly service and great food you know this is hard to find, but this one definitely has that all for a really good price.

I really wanted to like this place since the new owners have taken over from the previous atrocious owners that did not care for their customers and were very unfriendly. The new owners are very friendly and kind people. I have been here on two separate occasions, I just can not recommend the food at this restaurant. The prices are very high for the small amount of food you get. The first time i ordered a large Tom Ka Gai soup to go. The large size came in a 1lb size grocery store deli container and did not even get close to being filled. If this is a large size I would be afraid to find out what the regular size would be. The price of the large soup with chicken was $ 9.95. The flavor was bland and the color of the soup was a very yellow/brown, as opposed to white creamy coconut and only a few pieces of chicken. The second time, I went with a friend and I ordered a dinner sized portion of basil leaves with chicken $ 10.95. The food was again so bland even though ordering it spicy HOT. There were only about 4 — 5 pieces of chicken in the dish, please view the picture attached also NO basil in the basil dish — how could that be possible!!! My friend order the ginger with chicken, also quite disappointing but did have ginger taste. The cost of the food and the lack of flavor just not worth the price nor worth going to try the lackluster food.

I’ve been to a lot of Thai restaurants in San Diego and found this one to be a solid middle-of-the-road experience. The food and service were both adequate but nothing jumped out to me as being special. I ordered the Pad See Ew, my go-to Thai dish, and thought that Coconut Thai’s version was sweeter than most. I have more of a salty tooth than a sweet tooth so it was little strange for me. Not necessarily bad but not my cup of tea. There seemed to be too much sauce as well as there was a pool of it at the bottom of my plate. The beef was rather chewy and disappointing and I wish I would have ordered chicken instead. My boyfriend ordered the Red Curry with vegetables and tofu and he seemed to enjoy his meal more. There was only enough rice for about half the curry but we brought the rest home and made more rice. On the plus side, the Thai teas were delicious and I highly recommend ordering one with your meal. I’ve always found that they give me a nice caffeine jolt so maybe hold off if it’s close to bedtime but otherwise give it a go! There’s a small parking lot out front with free 30 minutes parking. We found that 30 minutes was enough time for us to order and eat but just keep an eye on the clock. I heard that there was a parking garage as well but I didn’t see the entrance and I’m not sure if it has a time limit as well.
