THIS IS MY IMPRESSION AND FROM MY NOTES AND DIRECT QUOTES FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE. FACTUAL BUSINESS PRACTICES MAY DIFFER. Managers Wanted. To manage what? To put money into Doug & Amysu’s pockets, not yours. I was at the 1^st and 2^nd «interviews» (an approximate term as both were groups, not one on one) only, and basically they want you to sell and or panhandle perfume knockoffs and tips for what they say are «KIRKLAND» type equivalents, «just like costco», in parking lots and such. Is this illegal? Maybe that’s why they only have you do it for a week or two before you go to a «satellite» office… there’s plenty of bad copy about this place and Scentura on the web, the parent company or supplier. This place recently changed names from Universal Wholesale to Coastal Promotions, and when you call the office and ask for the business name they say CP Wholesale Company. Searching that get’s you a division of Jack In The Box, with whom they are absolutely not affiliated. Also, for a «professional teacher» with 5 yrs of PE/​College background and 2 degrees, his spelling is atrocious on his business blog and he jabbers like a monkey on meth, and blames you if you can’t understand him or keep up. $ 25 for a 3oz bottle of (what HE says is) 12% oil perfume supposedly from the same french manufacturers as the name brands. Personally the sample he spritzed me with lasted more than 3 hours but the smell was nothing like the name they gave, his reason? Personal chemistry, they all smell different on different ppl, different races, etc.. . and FFARR wth is that? some screwy acronym for fu@k over your friends and family for what they plainly tell you is a $ 1.50 an oz product. Which they’ll generously give you a one time discount for employees at a measly $ 20 a bottle, a mere 444% markup vs the 1000% markup he accuses «the industry» of, while possibly true, still a ripoff in my book. They also had, what I suspect, was a shill or plant in the group of 2^nd day attendees, who makes «the cut» without further adieu, as she laughs and smiles and participates in his shenanigans the whole time. No call-​back required. Everyone else gets a callback time to find out (while not bitter about not making the cut, I called and was told I was an alternate, I declined and told him I wasn’t interested in hawking his lousy perfume on the corner). One of the Advanced crowd advised us to laugh at all his jokes no matter what. Then he proceeds to tell ethnic jokes and sexist jokes. The advanced «trainees» sat behind us, and are all silent the entire time, and while personable, won’t discuss details. Pay? $ 8 for every bottle you sell at full pop. After, he tells you that you have to sell 50 units per week. $ 400 +/​-​a week? For what they said was a $ 52K a year management position? 5 or 6 days a week and what a 1099? Who pays the taxes on this cash business? They didn’t get into details but, after a promise of paid training, if you don’t screw your family and friends or sell your 1^st 50 bottles, you don’t get squat. You «might» get some «bonus» or «over-​ride» $$ (from which term I infer you must pay back) from Doug, IF you help out around the office, then basically (I guess) you’ll get replaced, as you wouldn’t be making him anything. Overall a very bad experience and waste of two round trips to Mira Mesa and ½ a day (they said 2 – 3 hours, dragged into 4.5 hours, as he talks endlessly about himself and his obsession (no perfume pun intended) with materialism, and oh, before I forget, everyone else that doesn’t agree with him is a «sponge» or «hater»). Overall, I learned a very poignant lesson. .. If a company or it’s reputation can’t be found on the internet from the name they give you… STEER CLEAR. WAY CLEAR, AVOID LIKE THE BUBONIC PLAGUE!!!
