We love this place! Best spicy sandwiches in town with fresh ingredients. Love the owner and her staff as they are so friendly and customer service is exceptional. Cheryl works hard to make uniquely balanced combinations like adding grapes to balance out heat on some of her spicier sandwiches. The added fruit, nuts and pepper combinations are right on the money. By far our favorite sandwich shop in the city.

My bestfriend and I went to visit this amazing shop yesterday after a quick hike. Cheryl, the owner was so welcoming and inviting. It was great how the owner connected with us and provided us with some brief history of the shop itself. I felt like I was walking into my family’s home. I had the tuna sandwich, a delicious orange cream soda, and a side of the spicy habanero potato salad. Everything was great!!! I plan on bringing my family and friends back for another try. My bestfriend and I rated this a 5-star overall experience. Thank you Cheryl.

I had one of the best damn sandwiches here that I have ever had, the Mad Dog Joe. The right combination of flavors and spice. I’ll definitely be back.

The owner is fantastic and the concept is great, but execution with the food is seriously lacking skill and creativity. The food was bland, sloppily put together, cheap ingredients were used, and lacked any real creativity. We ordered a salad, sandwich and the jalapeño macaroni salad. My advice, go to another deli or make a sandwich and salad at home, it will be better.

The owner is amazing we had a great conversation about her rock and roll past! The sandwich wasn’t very special or unique however and lacked flavor also the bread wasn’t very high quality 5stars just for the owner she is an amazing woman but I’m sad to say I won’t be returning with so many other good delis in the area.

Food was fantastic! The classic rock music, along with the photos all around the restaurant are great! The vibe is very comforting and welcoming, and not to mention the thought process behind the names of the sandwiches goes to show that true passion can be lead to great things! Thank you Cheryl(founder) for making our visit to San Diego that much more memorable!

What a great place! Over 51 sandwiches each one named after a classic rock star and their lyrics. The sandwiches options were amazing — combinations I’ve never seen before bit freash and delicious. Cheryl and Arnett made us feel so welcomed too. My brother is developmentally delayed and Cheryl tuned right into him. He is obsessed with music and Cheryl kept him on his toes with a constant game of «Name That Tune — ORGETOUT!». Arnett would give us some of the answers by running back to the radio when we got stuck! A lot of fun for us! We loved all the music posters and rock memorabilia all over the walls, ceiling and napkin holders! It was a blast — no pretense, no BS, just good music and good sandwiches and GREATPEOPLE.

First timers … My BF and I decided to try a new place in North Park for late lunch. We stopped by this place. It’s walking distance and has Unique sandwiches. We both enjoyed it and will Definitely come back and try out the rest. The people are really friendly and has great customer service! If your in the area give it a try. Love the vintage vibe inside as well.

$ 2 worth of sandwich ingredients for $ 9.75. Sandwiches were sloppily made and looked like someone was in a rush and just stuffed a bunch of stuff between two pieces of bread. Ingredients were not high quality, organic or locally sourced and could not justify the extreme cost. Unless you want to buy an expensive sandwich for someone you don’t like, I’d skip this place.

Best sub shop in north park hands down. It’s really special and shows… to see the owner so involved and puts so much love and passion into her shop.

This place is great! We went with our little family for Unilocal Saturday, and I found everyone else’s positive reviews accurate. The people working there are great, Cheryl, Brian, and the rest were super friendly, they gave us free cake and bubbles for our daughter. But friendliness aside, the food was great. I built my own sandwich and my husband got the deadhead, which was nice and spicy! We loved the whole experience, and highly recommend it, it’s worth the visit

Went here with my girlfriend and we were beyond impressed. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was great. It’s very refreshing going somewhere where you’re treated by a staff who take pride in what they do. Cheryl was so sweet and had an option for every person who walks in the door. This is a must try ! We will be back for many more sandwiches… And wraps !

This is the quintessential small, mom and pop restaurant. The owner LOVES her job and its so obvious in the business. Decked out in classic rock paraphernalia, this shop offers probably close to 50 sandwich types. Haven’t tried them all(yet) but everything I have had was delicious. And the owner is always so friendly. Feels like we are just visiting her kitchen and home. This place fills my belly and warms my heart. Must go! :-) support local.

If you’re looking for a local hole in the wall, the type of place that you’ll get a colorful conversation with the owner, this is it. So many sandwiches, all of them are super yummy, all named for rock bands or with rock lyrics, and the lady that owns it is a sassy east coast mama. There’s free magazines, a cool bar to sit and eat at, and snacks for later and for dogs. The sandwiches are SOGOOD. Plus, she has a punch card deal(buy 10 sammies, get one free) and she’ll keep them in an old-school card catalog for you!

This is a unique place to eat. Cheryl has designed every sandwich on the menu. You name it, you can find it here. It’s worth a trip just to study the menu, and if you have a taste for the spicy, there’s a sandwich here that will blow your doors off.

I REALLY wanted to love this place because it’s in the neighborhood, we love sandwiches, and the owners were super nice. We ordered quite a few of the vegetarian sandwiches and while they were mostly tasty, they were just missing something to make them delicious. Do you know what I mean? We all thought the lettuce ratio was out of proportion to the other ingredients, but maybe it’s because they were all veggie sandwiches? We also tried a number of the sides and the macaroni salad is ok but the jalapeño macaroni salad is better. Also the restaurant was unbearably stuffy and it took an extremely long time to get our food. We ended up spending close to $ 50 for our family of 5(2 adults, 16, 5, and 1). Glad we tried it but probably won’t be back.

Cool, local place — this isn’t Jimmy Johns where the owner is out blasting elephants in the face like a coward using your hard earned sandwich dollars, the real owner here is looking you in the eye and explaining all the offerings they have and how spicy they are. Great classic rock eye candy on the walls to peruse while you wait for your food. Will be back.

Look at my pictures before you decide to go here! I love supporting local businesses, and the service/decoration here was great. However, the sandwich was one of the skimpiest I’ve ever ordered :( As you can see from the pictures, what I got was basically a lettuce sandwich. The women who helped me(who I assume was the owner) was very friendly and said the“emerald eagle” was their most popular vegetarian sandwich, but I’m left wondering why. Why bother putting sprouts on the sandwich if they’re barely there? There were almost no sprouts and barely any avocado. The sandwich was mostly lettuce and spicy mayonnaise(please take a look at my pictures before you go!) and with all the other options in North Park, I probably wouldn’t come back. I can see why the place was empty during lunch hour on a Friday. Once of the worst lunches I’ve had in a while :(

This was a great find on our trip! The selection is expansive with many unique combinations and a good selection of vegetarian options. We picked one spicy, Mad Dog Joe and one mild, Morrison Madness. Both were packed with deli meats and cheese and both were packed with flavor! Since it was our first time there, proprietor Cheryl helped us navigate the menu and was super friendly. She also has a great collection of Rock memorabilia in the shop. Oh and if you like craft beer, she encourages you to get your sandwiches to go and take them around the corner to another local favorite at Hess Brewing. Way to support your neighbors Cheryl!

Solid sandwich shop with a quarky twist. The décor and the sandwiches are based off classic rock figures. From the Beatles to the Rolling Stones, these classic groups have its mark on the menu as well as the walls. I got the Beatle«something», sorry it’s been a few days. The sandwich had a turkey avocado base, fresh produce and a raspberry jam chipotle sauce. Over all the sandwich was tasty, straightforward good product and interesting jam sauce but other than that it was ok. The one thing I appreciate is that they take care of their customers. They have returning customer cards that after an X amount of purchases you get a bonus sandwich. In addition to having these cards they have a box to contain all of them so there won’t be any of those«I forgot it at home» things. Other words great place for locals and a new place to try out.
