I got a build-your-own wrap: turkey and bacon with all the veggies was the best! Very fresh and the best value in the area. If you’re at the convention center, this is a great option. Don’t be fooled by its liquor/grocery store appearance! The staff was so friendly to top it all off.

I was staying at the Hilton across from them. I wanted something quick so I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and breakfast burrito, the next day when I woke up I had food poisoning. Maybe bad luck but be careful at places that are liquor /deli.

Great fresh salads like mom would make and at a reasonable price. Don’t be put off by the fact that this place looks like a liqueur store, the takeaway food is excellent.

I wanted to grab a quick bite after shopping and decided to Unilocal, they showed this business closed. Since we were close we chose to walk by anyways to confirm. I’m glad we did. They were open. We ordered a Turkey Club &BLT… awesome sandwiches, lots of bacon, freshly made and large portions. Yummy!!! We will be back.

This is basically a liquor store/deli; however, they made one of the best turkey sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Fresh and tasty. Deli worker was surly, otherwise a 5.

My son is officially in his Junior year today at UCSD. If we’re down here moving him in, visiting, or moving him out, we like to visit the Gaslamp district as much as we can. This cute market although not very big, offers a variety of deli sandwiches, salads, burritos, fruits, liquor, lotto tickets, and a host of other zoom zooms and wham whams. We like to come in here and pick up lotto tickets to try our luck out here and also purchase their liquor that comes in smaller versions. Service is always great and a cool photo op out front too.

This place is a hidden treasure. Love their food and have never had an issue with their service. Sandwiches are big enough to fill and elephant… or my friend Marty. Try to get food from here at least once every couple of weeks when working downtown.

Best sandwiches in town! Fast, friendly, and just around the corner from work, I literally eat here every day. Fantastic stuff, especially the Ruben and philly cheese,

This shop is a small deli/liquor store. I am only reviewing the breakfast sandwiches, which were very good. Even with a line nearly out the door(a large conference was in town), I waited/ordered/received my sandwich in about 15 minutes. And you can’t beat the price at ~$ 5. There are also many pre-made sandwiches(made same day, it would seem) ready to grab and go. Seating is limited, with only one table inside and a few more in front of the entrance. However, the deck at the entrance has a wide rail that also doubles as a standing table.

Love this place. For Comic-Con, this is our go-to for a quick bite and drink. Unless you are leaving The Con and going to one of the nearby restaurants, this place does the trick. Sandwiches are the bomb. I grab a couple and some chips and a drink, and head for the line at Hall H. Awesome breakfast burritos — they will make whatever you want. Super friendly and fast! Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Hostess pastries, all sorts of chips, nuts, candy.

I’m staying in the area while my kitchen is renovated and I’ve frequented this store throughout the last week. It’s location is perfect, right in the heart of Gaslamp and although I’ve purchased necessities from here I have to comment on their amazing salads! I’ve been eating the Chef salad(ask them to add bacon!) for 4 days! We’ve also had a couple breakfast bagels which are out of this world and also the fruit bowls. Come here for your regular«liquor store» items but don’t miss out on their great fresh food options!

Great little convenience store! Plenty of… in case you forgot to pack it, items. They have the best breakfast bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos too. They carry eggs, bacon and some fruit, the fruit is always fresh. Their fast food frozen items are priced well and they are of good quality. Leti, behind the prep counter is the best, super friendly too. The guys running the show are great, friendly too. For it is what it is, a convenience store, it’s a definite 5 stars in my book!

So far Cine Café is the best«Go to» market I’ve found in the Gaslamp. Needed some limes for the beers someone brought over. In and out in less than 30 seconds. But the sandwiches!!! If you’re a Bacon Lover, check out the BLT. They put an amazing amount of bacon in this yummy sandwich.

Awesome awesome breakfast sandwiches. I stayed at the Omni for a conference and Cine Café was a short stroll away. Definitely has that gas station vibe, but delightful staff, yummy sammys, and great snack selection

The layout is more a liquor store/minimart, but their sandwiches are awesome! Reminds me of a hole in the wall I’d find in NYC, not much to look at but cheap and great quality. Sandwiches are served fresh, overflowing with meat and toppings and you can’t beat the price in SD. If you want something tasty, filling, and cheap downtown, this is a go to.

I would not call this a café. Really, it’s a liquor store/minimart with a food counter. As an ex-NYer, this warms my heart. Attending a conference nearby, I came here almost daily for breakfast. Breakfast sandwiches were served hot, overflowing with meat, and very reasonably priced. I didn’t have the lunch sandwiches but they looked pretty good(and are premade so you can grab and go). I didn’t have their coffee which was pretty unimpressive but they have a good selection of drinks like orange juice, red bull, soda, etc. If you’re on a budget, come here and grab a bacon and egg on a roll or a breakfast burrito. You’ve pretty much got breakfast and lunch for two. Don’t go out of your way to find this place, but if you’re staying at the Hard Rock hotel or attending something at the Convention Center, you’ll thank me.

Cine Café is a bit of a misnomer — it’s sort of a café but it’s also a convenience store and liquor mart all rolled into an extremely convenient bundle. I was staying at the Hilton across the street where they wanted to charge me $ 3 for a tiny bottle of Nestle brand bottled water. Hell no to that. Cine has all the cold drinks you need, as well as snacks, ice, cigarettes, and toiletries. Hungry? They’ve got grab and go stuff or they’ll make you a fresh sandwich. Thirsty? They’ve got soda and all the other drinks you require. Looking to pregame before a night out in the Gaslamp? In addition to beer, wine and liquor they stock some pretty vile looking single serve cocktails. Already drunk and need some munchies? They’be got your chips and beef jerky. I hit this place up regularly while I was here for a convention and the employees seem genuinely pleasant. Super convenient.

Come here often. I like that they have squaw bread but I had the Philly today and it was not good. Then I added a breakfast burrito which was tasty.

These sandwiches are great. The Reuben was so flavorful. I suggest getting the other pastrami sandwich because it’s bigger and comes with sauerkraut. This is like one of those shops where you can get great fast food in the Gaslamp District. It’s also a grocery store… well, it’s mostly a grocery store and the clerks happen to make sandwiches behind the register. Literally, you see them make the sandwich in front you as you are paying! My MOSTIMPORTANTTIP to everyone is know what to order before you go up to the register. The food may be great but the employees are really impatient and terrible. Don’t expect them to smile or even let you know they appreciate your business. Did you ever see the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld? It’s kind of like that. Order your sandwich and go. Don’t ask questions. And prepared not to understand any of the English the employees are speaking. And yes, they sound mad all the time.
